Gemcitabine chemotherapy has been the standard for advanced pancreatic cancer for more than a decade.New oral fluoropyrimidines such as S-1 and capecitabine are other key drugs.Gemcitabine plus erlotinib was the only combination therapy that significantly prolonged survival, although the effect was minimal.Little or no improvement in survival with recent moleculartargeted drugs might be attributed to the very high incidence of K-ras gene mutation in pancreatic cancer.Recently, the non-gemcitabine-based-regimen of FOLFIRINOX showed significantly greater overall survival compared with gemcitabine for the first time. For biliary tract cancer, gemcitabine plus cisplatin combination chemotherapy has been proved to significantly prolong survival and will become the standard therapy.Further improvement in survival is expected by the addition of cetuximab. 展开更多

Ferritic heat resistant steels involving precipitation of intermetallic phases have drawn a growing interest for the enhancement of creep strength, while the brittleness of the intermetallic phases may lower the toughness of the alloy. Therefore, it is necessary to optimize the dispersion characteristics of the intermetallics phase through microstructural control to minimize the trade-off between the strength and toughness. The effects of -Fe matrix substructures on the precipitation sequence, morphology, dispersion characteristics, and the stability of the intermetallic phases are investigated in Fe-Cr-W-Co-Si system. The precipitates of the Si-free Fe-10Cr-l.4W-4.5Co (at%) alloy aged at 873K are the R-phase but those of the Si-added Fe-10Cr-l.4W-4.5Co-0.3Si (at%) alloy are the icosahedral quasicrystalline phase. The precipitates in both the Si-free and Si-added alloys aged at 973K are the Laves phase. Matrix of the alloys is controlled by heat treatments as to provide three types of matrix substructures; ferrite, ferrite/martensite mixture and martensite. The hardening behavior of the alloys depends on the matrix substructures and is independent of the kinds of precipitates. In the alloys with ferrite matrix, the peak of hardness during aging at 873K shifts to longer aging time in comparison with that in the alloys with lath martensite matrix which contain numbers of nucleation sites. 展开更多

Plasma-assisted chemical vapor deposition (PCVD) was applied for amorphous TiOx deposition on Pyrex-glass substrate at low temperature below 90°C to control orientation of anatase-TiO2 layer by low pressure chemical vapor deposition (LPCVD) using TTIP-single precursor. Preferentially -oriented anatase-TiO2 layer was successfully deposited with the orientation ratio as high as 68% on the initial layer of the thickness around 70 nm. Contact angle water was quickly decreased by UV-irradiation on the highly -oriented TiO2 layer comparing with the layer directly deposited on glass, whereas surface roughness on the former was significantly reduced in comparison to that on the latter. Methyleneblue (MB) aqueous solution with the concentration of 2 mmol/L was used to evaluate photocatalytic property on the layer. Rate constant of MB-decomposition via first order kinetics increased with the orientation ratio above 60% was resulted in 2.3 × 10-1?min-1 for the layer with -orientation ratio of 68%, whereas the constant was 2.8 × 10-3 min-1 for the layer directly deposited on glass. 展开更多
