Lymphatic plastic bronchitis and primary chylothorax: A study based on computed tomography lymphangiography

BACKGROUND This study presents an evaluation of the computed tomography lymphangio-graphy(CTL)features of lymphatic plastic bronchitis(PB)and primary chylotho-rax to improve the diagnostic accuracy for these two diseases.AIM To improve the diagnosis of lymphatic PB or primary chylothorax,a retrospective analysis of the clinical features and CTL characteristics of 71 patients diagnosed with lymphatic PB or primary chylothorax was performed.METHODS The clinical and CTL data of 71 patients(20 with lymphatic PB,41 with primary chylothorax,and 10 with lymphatic PB with primary chylothorax)were collected retrospectively.CTL was performed in all patients.The clinical manifestations,CTL findings,and conventional chest CT findings of the three groups of patients were compared.The chi-square test or Fisher's exact test was used to compare the differences among the three groups.A difference was considered to be statistically significant when P<0.05.RESULTS(1)The percentages of abnormal contrast medium deposits on CTL in the three groups were as follows:Thoracic duct outlet in 14(70.0%),33(80.5%)and 8(80.0%)patients;peritracheal region in 18(90.0%),15(36.6%)and 8(80.0%)patients;pleura in 6(30.0%),33(80.5%)and 9(90.0%)patients;pericardium in 6(30.0%),6(14.6%)and 4(40.0%)patients;and hilum in 16(80.0%),11(26.8%)and 7(70.0%)patients;and(2)the abnormalities on conven-tional chest CT in the three groups were as follows:Ground-glass opacity in 19(95.0%),18(43.9%)and 8(80.0%)patients;atelectasis in 4(20.0%),26(63.4%)and 7(70.0%)patients;interlobular septal thickening in 12(60.0%),11(26.8%)and 3(30.0%)patients;bronchovascular bundle thickening in 14(70.0%),6(14.6%)and 4(40.0%)patients;localized mediastinal changes in 14(70.0%),14(34.1%),and 7(70.0%)patients;diffuse mediastinal changes in 6(30.0%),5(12.2%),and 3(30.0%)patients;cystic lesions in the axilla in 2(10.0%),6(14.6%),and 2(20.0%)patients;and cystic lesions in the chest wall in 0(0%),2(4.9%),and 2(4.9%)patients.CONCLUSION CTL is well suited to clarify the characteristics of lymphatic PB and primary chylothorax.This method is an excellent tool for diagnosing these two diseases. 展开更多

By using a combination of numerical analysis and analytical method, we obtain the surface energy and elementary excitations of the model. Rice blast, caused by Magnaporthe oryzae, is a major disease of rice almost worldwide. The Chinese indica cultivar 93-11 is resistant to numerous isolates of the blast fungus in China, and can be used as broad-spectrum resistance resource, particularly in japonica rice breeding programs. In this study, we identified and mapped two blast resistance genes, Pi60(t) and Pi61(t), in cv. 93-11 using F2 and F3 populations derived from a cross between the susceptible cv. Lijiangxintuanheigu(LTH) and resistant cv. 93-11 and inoculated with M. oryzae isolates from different geographic origins. Pi60(t) was delimited to a 274 kb region on the short arm of chromosome 11, flanked by InDel markers K1-4 and E12 and cosegregated with InDel markers B1 and Y10. Pi61(t) was mapped to a 200 kb region on the short arm(near the centromere) of chromosome 12, flanked by InDel markers M2 and S29 and cosegregating with InDel marker M9. In the 274 kb region of Pi60(t), 93-11 contains six NBS-LRR genes including the two Pia/ PiCO39 alleles(BGIOSGA034263 and BGIOSGA035032) which are quite close to the two Pia/ PiCO39 alleles(SasRGA4 and SasRGA5) in Sasanishiki and CO39, with only nine amino acids differing in the protein sequences of BGIOSGA035032 and SasRGA5. In the 200 kb region of Pi61(t), 93-11 contains four NBS-LRR genes, all of which show high identities in protein sequence with their corresponding NBS-LRR alleles in susceptible cv. Nipponbare. Comparison of the response spectra and physical positions between the target genes and other R genes in the same chromosome regions indicated that Pi60(t) could be Pia/PiCO39 or its allele, whereas Pi61(t) appears to be different from Pita, Pita-2, Pi19(t), Pi39(t) and Pi42(t) in the same R gene cluster. DNA markers tightly linked to Pi60(t) and Pi61(t) will enable marker-assisted breeding and map-based cloning. 展开更多

BACKGROUND The appearance of the intestinal mucosa during endoscopy varies among patients with primary intestinal lymphangiectasia(PIL).AIM To classify the endoscopic features of the intestinal mucosa in PIL under endoscopy,combine the patients’imaging and pathological characteristics of the patients,and explain their causes.METHODS We retrospectively analyzed the endoscopic images of 123 patients with PIL who were treated at the hospital between January 1,2007 and December 31,2018.We compared and analyzed all endoscopic images,classified them into four types according to the endoscopic features of the intestinal mucosa,and analyzed the post-lymphographic computed tomography(PLCT)and pathological characteristics of each type.RESULTS According to the endoscopic features of PIL in 123 patients observed during endoscopy,they were classified into four types:nodular-type,granular-type,vesicular-type,and edematous-type.PLCT showed diffuse thickening of the small intestinal wall,and no contrast agent was seen in the small intestinal wall and mesentery in the patients with nodular and granular types.Contrast agent was scattered in the small intestinal wall and mesentery in the patients with vesicular and edematous types.Analysis of the small intestinal mucosal pathology revealed that nodular-type and granulartype lymphangiectasia involved the small intestine mucosa in four layers,whereas ectasia of the vesicular-and edematous-type lymphatic vessels largely involved the lamina propria mucosae,submucosae,and muscular layers.CONCLUSION Endoscopic classification,combined with the patients’clinical manifestations and pathological examination results,is significant and very useful to clinicians when scoping patients with suspected PIL. 展开更多

Effect of propofol on immune function, stress response and hemodynamics in patients undergoing colorectal cancer surgery

Objective:To investigate the effects of propofol on immune function, stress response and hemodynamics in patients undergoing colorectal cancer surgery.Methods: 90 patients who were undergoing laparoscopic radical resection of colorectal cancer were randomly divided into propofol group (n=45) and sevoflurane group (n=45). The propofol group was anesthetized with propofol and the control group was given the same dose of sevoflurane. Changes in HR, SBP and DBP were observed before anesthesia, 1 h after induction, and at the end of surgery. The levels of CD19+, NK cells, MDA, SOD, insulin and cortisol were measured before anesthesia, at the end of operation and 24 h after operation.Results: Compared with before anesthesia, the levels of HR, SBP and DBP decreased at 1 h after induction (allP<0.05). At the end of the surgery, HR, SBP, and DBP returned to pre-anesthesia levels in both groups. The levels of HR, SBP and DBP in the propofol group were (74.56±7.55) times/min, (108.34±10.71) mmHg and (76.35±7.65) mmHg were higher than those in the sevoflurane group (allP<0.05). Compared with before anesthesia, CD19+ and NK cell ratio decreased at the end of surgery and 24 h after surgery, while MDA level increased at the end of surgery and 24 h after surgery (P<0.05). At the end of the propofol group, the proportion of CD19+and NK cells were (7.23±0.83)% and (15.17±1.21)% ,which were higher than the sevoflurane group (allP<0.05). At 24 h after surgery, the proportions of CD19+ and NK cells in the propofol group were (9.68±0.96) % and (19.58±1.86)%, which were higher than those in the sevoflurane group (all P<0.05). Compared with before anesthesia, MDA levels increased and SOD levels decreased at the end of surgery (P<0.05). At the end of the propofol group, the MDA level was (6.15±0.62) mmol/L, which was lower than that of the sevoflurane group (P<0.05). And the SOD level was (98.75±9.78) nU/mL, which was higher than the sevoflurane group (P<0.05). Compared with before anesthesia, the levels of insulin and cortisol increased at the end of surgery and 24 h after surgery (P<0.05). At the end of the operation, the propofol group insulin (22.69±2.28) mIU/mL was higher than the sevoflurane group, and the propofol group cortisol were (171.59±17.12) ng/mL, which were lower than sevoflurane group (allP<0.05).Conclusion:The patients undergoing radicalresection of colorectal cancer received propofol intravenous anesthesia preoperativel, which can effectively alleviate oxidative stress, and has little effect on hemodynamic parameters and stress response. 展开更多

Film hole irrigation has been widely adopted as an effective water-saving irrigation technology in the arid and semiarid areas of China.To investigate the effects of initial soil moisture content(θ0)on soil water and nitrogen transport characteristics under muddy water film hole infiltration,the laboratory experiments were conducted with muddy water film hole infiltration,using five initial soil moisture content treatments.The models for describing the relationships between the cumulative infiltration(I(t))and infiltration duration(t);the relationship among the horizontal and vertical migration distances of the wetting front(Fx,Fz),θ0 and t,were established.The results showed that the initial soil moisture content had a significant effect on I(t),Fx,Fz and moisture content distribution in the wetted body.The change of I(t)over t conformed to Kostiakov model.With the increase ofθ0,the infiltration coefficient(K)gradually decreased.NO-3-N was mainly distributed in the range of the wetting radius of 15 cm,while NH+4-N was mainly distributed in the range of the wetting radius of 8 cm.This study can provide a theoretical basis and technical support for film hole irrigation. 展开更多

Mo-V-Nb tri-component oxide catalysts were prepared and firstly used for the selective oxidation of Cα-OH lignin compounds.The catalytic performance of the composite oxides was obviously enhanced due to the synergistic effects of Mo and V elements.Mo5-xVxO14 phase with a variable Mo/V ratio provided suitable active sites for the oxidative dehydrogenation(ODH)of Cα-OH lignin model compound.The optimized Mo-V-Nb molar composition was confirmed as Mo0.61V0.31Nb0.08Ox/TiO2,which exhibited the prominent catalytic activity with the turnover frequency of 1.04×10-3 mmol·g(cat)-1·s-1.Even at room temperature,the catalysts showed highly-efficient ODH reaction activities.The active phase for selective oxidation reaction and the inhibiting effect ofα-MoO3 phase were also discussed in the study. 展开更多

Based on the Lax pair formulation,we study the integrable conditions of the Osp(1|2)spin chain with open boundaries.We consider both the non-graded and graded versions of the Osp(1|2)chain.The Lax pair operators M_(±)for the boundaries can be induced by the Lax operator M_(j)for the bulk of the system.They correspond to the reflection equations(RE)and the Yang-Baxter equation,respectively.We further calculate the boundary K-matrices for both the non-graded and graded versions of the model with open boundaries.The double row monodromy matrix and transfer matrix of the spin chain have also been constructed.The K-matrices obtained from the Lax pair formulation are consistent with those from Sklyanin’s RE.This construction is another way to prove the quantum integrability of the Osp(1|2)chain.We find that the Lax pair formulation has advantages in dealing with the boundary terms of the supersymmetric model. 展开更多
