Environmental DNA(eDNA)metabarcoding has emerged as a potentially powerful tool to monitor invasive fish species.As an alternative(or complementary)tool for biodiversity monitoring,e DNA metabarcoding had been used to...Environmental DNA(eDNA)metabarcoding has emerged as a potentially powerful tool to monitor invasive fish species.As an alternative(or complementary)tool for biodiversity monitoring,e DNA metabarcoding had been used to detect species in aquariums,which represents an important transit avenue for introducing non-indigenous species with high population densities.In this study,eDNA metabarcoding as well as morphological characterization were used to reveal the diversity of non-indigenous species in a large aquarium at Qingdao Underwater World.Environmental DNA metabarcoding of 14 water samples at five locations from the Big Water Tank detected 24 non-indigenous species and four putative non-indigenous operational taxonomic units(OTUs).In contrast,only 20 non-indigenous species were observed by morphological characterization.Some species undetected by morphological characterization,such as Oreochromis niloticus(Linnaeus,1758),are highly adaptable to various environments and/or have invaded preferred regions where they threaten native aquatic species.eDNA metabarcoding also detected seven local fishes that were not identified by morphological characterization.However,analysis of OTU diversity among stations and sample replications revealed that eDNA varied within and/or between stations.Increasing sampling effort as well as negative controls are required to increase the detection rate of species and to eliminate false-positive OTUs.展开更多
Based on comprehensive analysis of typical outcrops, latest deep wells drilled and high resolution seismic profiles in the study area, we examined the geologic structure of the Kelameili range, and analyzed the struct...Based on comprehensive analysis of typical outcrops, latest deep wells drilled and high resolution seismic profiles in the study area, we examined the geologic structure of the Kelameili range, and analyzed the structural relationship between the Kelameili range and the Dajing depression, and discussed the tectonic-sedimentary framework in different periods of Carboniferous by using axial surface analysis and balanced section techniques. Understandings in three aspects are achieved:(1) The study area experienced five stages of compressional tectonic movements, the Early Carboniferous, the Late Carboniferous, the Middle-Late Permian, Late Cretaceous and Paleogene, and three stages of extensional tectonic movements, the middle-late Early Carboniferous, the middle-late Late Carboniferous and Early Permian. At the end of the Early Permian and the Mid-Late Cretaceous, the tectonic wedges moved southward respectively.(2) The Kelameili range and Dajing depression had the first basin-range coupling during the early Early Carboniferous, basin-range decoupling in the following middle-late Early Carboniferous to the Early Permian, then basin-range strong recoupling in the Middle Permian, and the basin-range coupling had been inherited in the subsequent Indosinian, Yanshanian and Himalayan movements.(3) During the early Early Carboniferous, the study area was a foreland basin where the Dishuiquan Formation source rock developed;in mid-late Early Carboniferous, a series of NW-and NWW-trending half-garben fault basins developed, where the Songkaersu Formation volcanic reservoir formed. In late Early Carboniferous, the study area entered into depression basin stage after rifting, and the Shuangjingzi Formation source rock developed;in the mid-late Late Carboniferous, Batamayineishan fault basin emerged, and the Upper-Carboniferous volcanic reservoir was formed, affected by the tectonic compression during late Carboniferous and Mid-Permian, the Batamayineishan Formation suffered extensive erosion, and only partially remains in the piedmont depression zone.展开更多

BACKGROUND This study describes the efficacy of a tacrolimus treatment regimen used to treat two patients with relapsing-remitting chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy(CIDP).CASE SUMMARY Two patie...BACKGROUND This study describes the efficacy of a tacrolimus treatment regimen used to treat two patients with relapsing-remitting chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy(CIDP).CASE SUMMARY Two patients(17-year-old female and 27-year-old male)were enrolled in the current study and were followed up for 12 mo.The first patient was administered tacrolimus(2 mg/d)for 12 mo and prednisolone(40 mg/d)for six months.The second patient was administered tacrolimus(3 mg/d)for six months.Both patients were followed up for 12 mo and the degree of recurrent weakness or normalized motor function was monitored.In addition,nerve conduction studies and tacrolimus levels were recorded.Following tacrolimus treatment,both patients showed marked improvement in clinical outcomes.In the first patient,prednisolone treatment was successfully withdrawn after six months.Sensory as well as motor nerve conduction velocities showed evident recovery following treatment.However,conduction velocities did not completely return to normal,suggesting that electrophysiological recovery can be slower than clinical recovery.CONCLUSION Neither patient exhibited any adverse effects due to the tacrolimus therapy.Therefore,tacrolimus can be effective for the treatment of patients with steroidresistant CIDP.展开更多
