BACKGROUND Pulmonary alveolar proteinosis(PAP)and X-linked agammaglobulinemia(XLA)are rare diseases in children.Many theories infer that immunodeficiency can induce PAP,but these reports are almost all review articles...BACKGROUND Pulmonary alveolar proteinosis(PAP)and X-linked agammaglobulinemia(XLA)are rare diseases in children.Many theories infer that immunodeficiency can induce PAP,but these reports are almost all review articles,and there is little clinical evidence.We report the case of a child with both PAP and XLA.CASE SUMMARY A 4-month-old boy sought medical treatment due to coughing and difficulty in breathing for>2 wk.He had been hospitalized multiple times due to respiratory infections and diarrhea.Chest computed tomography and alveolar lavage fluid showed typical PAP-related manifestations.Genetic testing confirmed that the boy also had XLA.Following total lung alveolar lavage and intravenous immunoglobulin replacement therapy,the boy recovered and was discharged.During the follow-up period,the number of respiratory infections was significantly reduced,and PAP did not recur.CONCLUSION XLA can induce PAP and improving immune function contributes to the prognosis of children with this type of PAP.展开更多
The optimizing utilization of ca rbon resources has drawn wide attention all over the world,while exploiting the high-efficiency catalytic routes remains a challenge.Here,a direct methanol synthesis route is realized ...The optimizing utilization of ca rbon resources has drawn wide attention all over the world,while exploiting the high-efficiency catalytic routes remains a challenge.Here,a direct methanol synthesis route is realized from pure CO and H_(2)O over 10%Cu/t-ZrO_(2) catalyst,where the time yield of methanol is144.43 mmol mol_(Cu)^(-1)h^(-1)and the methanol selectivity in hydrocarbons is 100%,The Cu species highly dispersed in the t-ZrO_(2) support lead parts of them in the cationic state.The Cu^(+)sites contribute to the dissociation of H_(2)O,providing the H*source for methanol synthesis,while the formed Cu^(0) sites promote the absorption and transfer of H*during the reaction.Moreover,the H_(2)O is even a better H resource than H_(2) due to its better dissociation effectivity in this catalytic system.The present work offers a new approach for methanol synthesis from CO and new insight into the process of supplying H donor.展开更多
This review provides a comprehensive overview of the distinguished academic career and scientific accomplishments of Prof.Noritatsu Tsubaki at the University of Toyama.For over 35 years,he has dedicated himself to the...This review provides a comprehensive overview of the distinguished academic career and scientific accomplishments of Prof.Noritatsu Tsubaki at the University of Toyama.For over 35 years,he has dedicated himself to the research field of one-carbon(C1)chemistry,including catalytic conversion of C1 molecules to valuable chemicals and superclean fuels,innovative catalyst and reactor development,and the design of new catalytic reactions and processes.Organized chronologically,this review highlights Prof.Tsubaki’s academic contributions from 1990,when he studied and worked at The University of Tokyo,to his current role as a full professor at the University of Toyama.The academic section of this review is divided into three main parts,focusing on Prof.Tsubaki’s pioneering work in C1 chemistry.We believe that this review will serve as a highly valuable reference for colleagues in the fields of C1 chemistry and catalysis,and inspire the development of more original and groundbreaking research.展开更多
To evaluate the quality of blurred images effectively,this study proposes a no-reference blur assessment method based on gradient distortion measurement and salient region maps.First,a Gaussian low-pass filter is used...To evaluate the quality of blurred images effectively,this study proposes a no-reference blur assessment method based on gradient distortion measurement and salient region maps.First,a Gaussian low-pass filter is used to construct a reference image by blurring a given image.Gradient similarity is included to obtain the gradient distortion measurement map,which can finely reflect the smallest possible changes in textures and details.Second,a saliency model is utilized to calculate image saliency.Specifically,an adaptive method is used to calculate the specific salient threshold of the blurred image,and the blurred image is binarized to yield the salient region map.Block-wise visual saliency serves as the weight to obtain the final image quality.Experimental results based on the image and video engineering database,categorial image quality database,and camera image database demonstrate that the proposed method correlates well with human judgment.Its computational complexity is also relatively low.展开更多
