Nanostructured Ketjen black/Fe_(3)O_(4) core/shell particles have been prepared through a simple one-step hydrothermal method.The microstructure analysis shows that the assynthesized composite particles display a typi...Nanostructured Ketjen black/Fe_(3)O_(4) core/shell particles have been prepared through a simple one-step hydrothermal method.The microstructure analysis shows that the assynthesized composite particles display a typical core/shell structure:the Ketjen black is playing as the core,while a large number of Fe_(3)O_(4) nanoparticles are uniformly attaching to the surface of the Ketjen black and forming the shell.The investigation of the magnetic properties of the nanostructured Ketjen black/Fe_(3)O_(4) core/shell materials reveals that the as-synthesized composite is a typical soft ferromagnetism material.The 40 wt%Ketjen black/Fe_(3)O_(4)-paraffin composites exhibit an excellent reflection loss value of-64.21 dB at a thickness of 2.00 mm,and the broadest effective bandwidth of 4.17 GHz at a thickness of1.50 mm.This work provides a brand-new type of magnetic carbon nanoparticles,defined as Ketjen black/Fe_(3)O_(4)core/shell particles,which are an excellent candidate for high-perform ance electromagnetic wave absorber materials.展开更多
Due to their toxicity,the increased distribution of microcystins(MCs) has become an important worldwide problem.MCs have been recognized as inhibitors of protein phosphatase 2A(PP2A) through their binding to the PP2A ...Due to their toxicity,the increased distribution of microcystins(MCs) has become an important worldwide problem.MCs have been recognized as inhibitors of protein phosphatase 2A(PP2A) through their binding to the PP2A catalytic subunit.However,the exact mechanism of MC toxicity has not been elucidated,especially concerning the cellular response and its autoregulation.To further dissect the role of PP2A in MC-induced toxicity,the present study was undertaken to determine the response of PP2A in human amniotic epithelial(FL) cells treated with microcystin-LR(MCLR),one of the MC congeners.The results show that a low-dose treatment of MCLR in FL cells for 6 h induced an increase in PP2A activity,and a high-dose treatment of MCLR for 24 h decreased the activity of PP2A,as expected.The increased mRNA and protein levels of the PP2A C subunit may explain the increased activity of PP2A.Furthermore,MCLR altered microtubule post-translational modifications through PP2A.These results further clarify the underlying mechanism how MCLR affects PP2A and may be helpful for elucidating the complex toxicity of MCLR.展开更多
Laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma(LSCC)is the most common type of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma(HNSCC)worldwide.Protein phosphatase 2A(PP2A)dysfunction has been widely reported in a broad range of malignancies...Laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma(LSCC)is the most common type of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma(HNSCC)worldwide.Protein phosphatase 2A(PP2A)dysfunction has been widely reported in a broad range of malignancies due to its distinctive role in miscellaneous cellular processes.However,it is poorly understood whether aberrant alterations of PP2A are involved in the network of oncogenic events in LSCC.Here,we detected a panel of PP2A-associated proteins using western blot in both laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma tissues and paired adjacent normal tissues from patients(Data S1).We found that phospho-PP2A/C(Y307),α4,cancerous inhibitor of protein phosphatase 2A(CIP2A),Akt,ezrin,phospho-ezrin(T567),14-3-3,and focal adhesion kinase(FAK)showed increased expression levels in carcinoma tissues relative to normal tissues,while phospho-Akt(T308)showed decreased levels.Our study,thus,provides a rationale for targeting PP2A to develop novel therapies and proposes a combination of interrelated biomarkers for the diagnostic evaluation and prognosis prediction in LSCC.展开更多
