METHODS: Genetically diabetic (db/db) mice were fed on chow supplemented with or without L-81 for 4 wk. The body weight, plasma glucose level, plasma lipid profile, and adipocyte volume of the db/db mice were assessed after treatment. Toxicity of L-81 was also evaluated. To understand the molecular mecha-nism, HepG2 cells were treated with L-81 and the effects on apolipoprotein B (apoB) secretion and mRNA level of the MTP gene were assessed.RESULTS: Treatment of db/db mice with L-81 sig-nificantly reduced and nearly normalized their body weight, hyperphagia and polydipsia. L-81 also markedly decreased the fasting plasma glucose level, improved glucose tolerance, and attenuated the elevated levels of plasma cholesterol and triglyceride. At the effective dosage, little toxicity was observed. Treatment of HepG2 cells with L-81 not only inhibited apoB secretion, but also signif icantly decreased the mRNA level of the MTP gene. Similar to the action of insulin, L-81 exerted its effect on the MTP promoter. CONCLUSION: L-81 represents a promising candidate in the development of a selective insulin-mimetic mol-ecule and an anti-diabetic agent.展开更多
BACKGROUND Cervical pregnancy is increasing in morbidity,and a definite diagnosis in early stages is challenging due to its specific onset site.Surgery is the mainstay of treatment for cervical pregnancy,but it may re...BACKGROUND Cervical pregnancy is increasing in morbidity,and a definite diagnosis in early stages is challenging due to its specific onset site.Surgery is the mainstay of treatment for cervical pregnancy,but it may result in the loss of natural fertility.Therefore,it is a great challenge to pursue a safe and effective treatment for cervical pregnancy.CASE SUMMARY We report the case of a cervical pregnancy successfully treated by ultrasoundguided cervical-intramuscular lauromacrogol injection combined with hysteroscopy.A 23-year-old woman with minor irregular vaginal bleeding was admitted to our department with suspected ectopic pregnancy.Transvaginal ultrasound revealed a gestational sac(approximately 22 mm x 13 mm)situated in the cervical canal with a yolk sac and blood flow signals.No cardiac activity was detected.Serum beta progesterone was 17.06 ng/m L,and serum beta human chorionic gonadotropin(β-HCG)was 5077.0 IU/L.The patient was diagnosed with cervical pregnancy.She was treated by ultrasound-guided cervicalintramuscular injections of lauromacrogol(3 m L)in combination with aborting under hysteroscopic visualization.A gradual decrease inβ-HCG levels and normal ultrasound findings were observed.Postoperative pathologic examination showed the presence of villi and changes in the endometrium in the secretory phase.The patient was discharged on day 6,and herβ-HCG level was 0.67 m IU/m L after 1 wk.There was no statistical difference between baseline and 1-week postoperative data in terms of serum indices including liver function,renal function,and routine blood analysis after treatment.The patient subsequently became pregnant 2 mo later and no abnormalities were detected on routine screening during pregnancy.CONCLUSION Ultrasound-guided cervical-intramuscular lauromacrogol injection combined with hysteroscopy may be effective and safe in the treatment of cervical pregnancy.展开更多

The Mg MB26/Al 7075 composite rod,in which Mg MB26 serves as the sleeve and Al 7075 serves as the core,is fabricated via the process of co-extrusion.The influence of extrusion speed on the microstructure evolution,int...The Mg MB26/Al 7075 composite rod,in which Mg MB26 serves as the sleeve and Al 7075 serves as the core,is fabricated via the process of co-extrusion.The influence of extrusion speed on the microstructure evolution,interface bonding and mechanical response of the Mg MB26/Al 7075 composite rod is investigated.The results show that the typical extrusion texture of Mg sleeve does not change during co-extrusion;however,the average grain size in the Mg sleeve slightly changes from 1.57 lm in the case of extrusion speed of 0.3 mm/s to 2.78 lm in the case of extrusion speed of2.1 mm/s.The thickness of interface transition layer increases significantly from 5.5 to 50 lm,and therefore,the interface bonding becomes deteriorative with increasing extrusion speed;in particular,many cavities emerge in the case of 1.2 and2.1 mm/s.展开更多
The AZ31 Mg alloys were processed by 6% pre-compression and frustum shearing extrusion at various temperatures, and the microstructure, texture and mechanical properties of the resulting alloys are systematically inve...The AZ31 Mg alloys were processed by 6% pre-compression and frustum shearing extrusion at various temperatures, and the microstructure, texture and mechanical properties of the resulting alloys are systematically investigated. The results show that the grain size monotonically increases from 6.4 to 12.6 lm and the texture intensity increases from 6.7 to 9.6with the increase in the extrusion temperature. The combining effect of the pre-twinning and the frustum shearing deformation is found to contribute to the development of the weak basal texture in Mg alloys. The Mg alloy sheet produced at the extrusion temperature of 563 K exhibits excellent mechanical properties. The yield strength, ultimate tensile strength and elongation for the extruded alloys are 189.6 MPa, 288.4 MPa and 24.9%, respectively. Such improved mechanical properties are comparable or even superior to those of the alloys subjected to other deformation techniques, rendering the pre-compression and frustum shearing extrusion a promising way for further tailoring properties of Mg alloys.展开更多
