Extensive positioni...The Chinese Area Positioning System (CAPS), a navigation system based on geostafionary orbit (GEO) communication satellites, was developed in 2002 by astronomers at Chinese Academy of Sciences. Extensive positioning experiments of CAPS have been performed since 2005. On the basis of CAPS, this paper studies the principle of a navigation constellation composed of slightly inclined geostationary orbit (SIGSO) communication satellites. SIGSO satellites are derived from GEO satellites which are near the end of their operational life by inclined orbit operation. Considering the abundant frequency resources of SIGSO satellites, multi-frequency observations could be conducted to enhance the precision of pseudorange measurements and ameliorate the positioning performance. A constellation composed of two GEO satellites and four SIGSO satellites with an inclination of 5° can provide service to most of the territory of China with a maximum position dilution of precision (PDOP) over 24 h of less than 42. With synthetic utilization of the truncated precise code and a physical augmentation factor in four frequencies, the navigation system with this constellation is expected to obtain comparable positioning performance to that of the coarse acquisition code of the Global Positioning System (GPS). When the new method of code-carrier phase combinations is adopted, the system has the potential to possess commensurate accuracy with the precise code in GPS. Additionally, the copious frequency resources can also be used to develop new anti-interference techniques and integrate navigation and communication.展开更多
We use wavelet transform to study the time series of the Earth's rotation rate (length-of-day, LOD), the axial components of atmospheric angular momentum (AAM) and oceanic angular momentum (OAM) in the period 1...We use wavelet transform to study the time series of the Earth's rotation rate (length-of-day, LOD), the axial components of atmospheric angular momentum (AAM) and oceanic angular momentum (OAM) in the period 1962-2005, and discuss the quasi-biennial oscillations (QBO) of LOD change. The results show that the QBO of LOD change varies remarkably in amplitude and phase. It was weak before 1978, then became much stronger and reached maximum values during the strong El Nino events in around 1983 and 1997. Results from analyzing the axial AAM indicate that the QBO signals in axial AAM are extremely consistent with the QBOs of LOD change. During 1963-2003, the QBO variance in the axial AAM can explain about 99.0% of that of the LOD, in other words, all QBO signals of LOD change are almost excited by the axial AAM, while the weak QBO signals of the axial OAM are quite different from those of the LOD and the axial AAM in both time-dependent characteristics and magnitudes. The combined effects of the axial AAM and OAM can explain about 99.1% of the variance of QBO in LOD change during this period.展开更多
BACKGROUND Although the incidence and cure rate of spinal hydatidosis are low,the recurrence rate of spinal hydatidosis is high,and the prognosis of spinal hydatidosis is poor.Therefore,we report a typical case of ref...BACKGROUND Although the incidence and cure rate of spinal hydatidosis are low,the recurrence rate of spinal hydatidosis is high,and the prognosis of spinal hydatidosis is poor.Therefore,we report a typical case of refractory spinal hydatidosis to increase spine surgeons’awareness of the disease and reduce misdiagnosis and recurrence.CASE SUMMARY A 48-year-old man presented with back pain,significant weight loss,and paralysis of both lower limbs.The patient was misdiagnosed with spinal tuberculosis in an outside hospital.However,spinal magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)showed hyperintense cystic components on T2-weighted images and hypointensity on T1-weighted images.A lobulated,multiocular,honeycombappearance,septated cystic mass protruding intraspinally and compressing the spinal cord at segments T8–T9 was present.Paravertebral polycystic lobular lesions presented as a“bunch of grapes”.The ELISA test result for Echinococcus granulosus was positive.Then,a diagnosis of spinal hydatidosis and lung hydatid disease was made,and the patient underwent left transthoracic approach lobectomy,paravertebral lesion debridement,and subtotal vertebrectomy with vertebral body replacement of segments T8 and T9 by a mesh cage.The patient also underwent albendazole chemotherapy before and after surgery.One year after stopping the drug therapy,the patient developed recurrent T5 vertebral lesions and underwent a second subtotal vertebrectomy surgery.The patient is currently in good condition and is receiving long-term medication and follow-up.CONCLUSION The MRI feature of a“bunch of grapes”is a typical imaging indication of spinal hydatidosis.Subtotal vertebrectomy is a risk factor for postoperative recurrence.Total spondylectomy makes it possible to cure spinal hydatidosis,but antiparasitic drug therapy is also an important supplementary therapy to multimodal therapy.It is preferable for patients with spinal hydatidosis to receive life-long antiparasitic medication therapy and follow-up.展开更多

The characteristics of some of the periods shorter than - 600-day are discussed. The results exhibit not only the variation of some short periods in the 14 solar cycles but also the characteristics and differences around solar peaks and valley years. The short periodic components with larger amplitude such as ~27, ~ 150 and ~360-day are obvious in some solar cycles, all of them are time-variable, also their lengths and amplitudes are variable and intermittent in time. The variable characteristics of the periods are rather different in different solar cycles.展开更多

Ohba's conjecture states that every graph G with 2X(G)+ 1 or fewer vertices is chromatic- choosable. It is clear that Ohba's conjecture is true if and only if it is true for complete multipartite graphs. Recently, Kostochka, Stiebitz and Woodall showed that Ohba's conjecture holds for complete multipartite graphs with partite size at most five. But the complete multipartite graphs with no restriction on their partite size, for which Ohba's conjecture has been verified are nothing more than the graphs Kt+3,2.(k-t-l),l.t by Enotomo et al., and gt+2,3,2.(k-t-2),l.t for t ≤ 4 by Shen et al.. In this paper, using the concept of f-choosable (or Lo-size-choosable) of graphs, we show that Ohba's conjecture is also true for the graphs gt+2,3,2.(k-t-2),l.t when t ≥ 5.
