BACKGROUND The expression status of serum and glucocorticoid-induced protein kinase 3(SGK3)in superficial esophageal squamous cell neoplasia(ESCN)remains unknown.AIM To evaluate the SGK3 overexpression rate in ESCN an...BACKGROUND The expression status of serum and glucocorticoid-induced protein kinase 3(SGK3)in superficial esophageal squamous cell neoplasia(ESCN)remains unknown.AIM To evaluate the SGK3 overexpression rate in ESCN and its influence on the prognosis and outcomes of patients with endoscopic resection.METHODS A total of 92 patients who had undergone endoscopic resection for ESCN with more than 8 years of follow-up were enrolled.Immunohistochemistry was used to evaluate SGK3 expression.RESULTS SGK3 was overexpressed in 55(59.8%)patients with ESCN.SGK3 overexpression showed a significant correlation with death(P=0.031).Overall survival and disease-free survival rates were higher in the normal SGK3 expression group than in the SGK3 overexpression group(P=0.013 and P=0.004,respectively).Cox regression analysis models demonstrated that SGK3 overexpression was an independent predictor of poor prognosis in ESCN patients(hazard ratio 4.729;95% confidence interval:1.042-21.458).CONCLUSION SGK3 overexpression was detected in the majority of patients with endoscopically resected ESCN and was significantly associated with shortened survival.Thus,it might be a new prognostic factor for ESCN.展开更多

METHODS: The levels of T lymphocyte subsets and mlL-2R in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) were measured by biotin-streptavidin (BSA) technique in patients with chronic hepatitis B before and after the treatment with liniment levamisole. RESULTS: After one course of treatment with liniment levamisole, the levels of CD3+, CD4+, and the ratio of CD4+/CD8+ increased as compared to those before the treatment but the level of CD8+ decreased. The total expression level of mIL-2R in PBMCs increased before and after the treatment with liniment levamisole. CONCLUSION: Liniment levamisole may reinforce cellular immune functions of patients with chronic hepatitis B.展开更多
BACKGROUND Wnt1-inducible signaling pathway protein 1(WISP1)is upregulated in several types of human cancer,and has been implicated in cancer progression.However,its clinical implications in gastric cancer(GC)remain u...BACKGROUND Wnt1-inducible signaling pathway protein 1(WISP1)is upregulated in several types of human cancer,and has been implicated in cancer progression.However,its clinical implications in gastric cancer(GC)remain unclear.AIM To explore the expression pattern and clinical significance of WISP1 in GC.METHODS Public data portals,including Oncomine,The Cancer Genome Atlas database,Coexpedia,and Kaplan-Meier plotter,were analyzed for the expression and clinical significance of WISP1 mRNA levels in GC.One hundred and fifty patients who underwent surgery for GC between February 2010 and October 2012 at the Affiliated Hospital of Jiangnan University were selected for validation study.WISP1 levels were measured at both the mRNA and protein levels by RTqPCR,Western blot analysis,and immunohistochemistry(IHC).In addition,the in situ expression of WISP1 in the GC tissues was determined by IHC,and the patients were accordingly classified into high-and low-expression groups.The correlation of WISP1 expression status with patient prognosis was then determined by univariate and multivariate Cox regression analyses.WISP1 was knocked down by RNA interference.The 50%inhibitory concentration of oxaliplatin was detected by CellTiter-Blue assay.RESULTS WISP1 levels at both the mRNA and protein levels were remarkably upregulated in GC tissues compared to normal tissues.Moreover,IHC revealed that WISP1 expression was associated with T stage and chemotherapy outcome,but not with lymph node metastasis,age,gender,histological grade,or histological type.GC patients with high WISP1 expression showed a poor overall survival.Multivariate survival analysis indicated that WISP1 was an important prognostic factor for GC patients.Mechanistically,knock-down of WISP1 expression enhanced sensitivity to oxaliplatin by reducing DNA repair and enhancing DNA damage.CONCLUSION Significantly upregulated WISP1 expression is associated with cancer progression,chemotherapy outcome,and prognosis in GC.Mechanistically,knock-down of WISP1 expression enhances oxaliplatin sensitivity by reducing DNA repair and enhancing DNA damage.WISP1 may be a potential therapeutic target for GC treatment or a potential biomarker for diagnosis and prognosis.展开更多

Because of the complexities of the fractures, it is difficult to use fractured reservoi...Fractures in oil and gas reservoirs have been the topic of many studies and have attracted reservoir research all over the world. Because of the complexities of the fractures, it is difficult to use fractured reservoir core samples to investigate true underground conditions. Due to the diversity of the fracture parameters, the simulation and evaluation of fractured rock in the laboratory setting is also difficult. Previous researchers have typically used a single material, such as resin, to simulate fractures. There has been a great deal of simplifying of the materials and conditions, which has led to disappointing results in application. In the present study, sandstone core samples were selected and sectioned to simulate fractures, and the changes of the compressional and shear waves were measured with the gradual increasing of the fracture width. The effects of the simulated fracture width on the acoustic wave velocity and amplitude were analyzed. Two variables were defined: H represents the amplitude attenuation ratio of the compressional and shear wave, and x represents the transit time difference value of the shear wave and compressional wave divided by the transit time of the compressional wave. The effect of fracture width on these two physical quantities was then analyzed. Finally, the methods of quantitative evaluation for fracture width with H and x were obtained. The experimental results showed that the rock fractures linearly reduced the velocity of the shear and compressional waves. The effect of twin fractures on thecompressional velocity was almost equal to that of a single fracture which had the same fracture width as the sum of the twin fractures. At the same time, the existence of fractures led to acoustic wave amplitude attenuations, and the compressional wave attenuation was two times greater than that of the shear wave. In this paper, a method was proposed to calculate the fracture width with x and H, then this was applied to the array acoustic imaging logging data.The application examples showed that the calculated fracture width could be compared with fractures on the electric imaging logs. These rules were applied in the well logs to effectively evaluate the fractures, under the case of no image logs, which had significance to prospecting and development of oil and gas in fractured reservoirs.展开更多
AIM:To introduce a modified technique of internal limiting membrane(ILM)centripetal dragging and peeling to treat idiopathic macular hole(IMH)and to observe the ILM-retina adhesive forces.METHODS:Twenty-six consecutiv...AIM:To introduce a modified technique of internal limiting membrane(ILM)centripetal dragging and peeling to treat idiopathic macular hole(IMH)and to observe the ILM-retina adhesive forces.METHODS:Twenty-six consecutive patients with stage 3 to 4 IMH and followed up at least six months were enrolled.All patients underwent complete par plana vitrectomy,ILM dragging and peeling,fluid and gas exchange,15%C3 F8 tamponade and 2-week prone position.The best corrected visual acuity,macular hole evaluation by optical coherence tomography,and complications were evaluated.RESULTS:The mean diameter of IMH was 524±148μm(range:201-683μm),with 21 cases(80.8%)greater than 400μm.ILM dragging and peeling were successfully performed in all cases.Most of the ILM-retina adhesive forces are severe(42.3%,11/26),followed by mild(38.5%,10/26),and moderate(19.2%,5/26).The mean follow-up duration was 21.2±6.1 mo.The IMH was closed in 25(96.3%)eyes.Visual acuity(logMAR)improved significantly from 1.2±0.6 preoperatively to 0.7±0.5 postoperatively(P<0.001).CONCLUSION:Preexisting ILM-retina adhesive force is found in IMH patients.With assistance of this force,this modified technique may help to release the IMH edges and improve the closure rate of large IMH.展开更多

Methods Sixty-three patients (32 wom...Objective To evaluate metabolic abnormalities in patients with mesial temporal lobe epilepsy (MTLE) with proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) using a 3.0T MR scanner. Methods Sixty-three patients (32 women and 31 men) with diagnosed MTLE underwent diagnostic MR imaging (MRI) and proton MRS using a 3.0T MR scanner. The clinical history and interictal epileptiform discharges (IEDs) were recorded. Sixteen healthy volunteers served as control. The results of proton MRS were compared with the findings of electroencephalogram and structural MRI findings. Results Twenty-seven of the 63 patients with MTLE showed unilateral hippocampal sclerosis, and 9 showed bilateral hippocampal sclerosis. The concentration ratio of N-acytelaspartate (NAA) / [ creatine ( Cr ) + choline (Cho) ] in the hippocampal region of MTLE patients (0. 64±0. 07) was significantly lower than control (0. 80±0. 05, P = 0.023). In the patients with unilateral hippocampal sclerosis, NAA/(Cr + Cho) in the hippocampal region ipsilateral to the sclerotic hippocampus (0.56±0.06) was significantly lower than the ratio in the contralateral hippocampal region (0.69±0.07, P 〈 0. 001 ). There was significant difference in hippocampal NAA/( Cr + Cho) between the refractory patients and the non-refractory patients (0. 64±0. 05 vs.0.71±0. 07, P =0. 04). Forty-five patients were lateralized by IEDs, while 49 patients were lateralized by metabolite ratio. And lateralization determined by proton MRS and IEDs was concordant in 33 patients. Conclusions MRS as a noninvasive tool adds helpful metabolite information to routine MRI in evaluation of MTLE. The method is well established and should be a routine clinical application in the investigation of epilepsy.展开更多
BACKGROUND Vestigial like family member 3(VGLL3)is associated with the prognosis of epithelial ovarian cancer and soft tissue sarcoma,but its role in gastric cancer(GC)is unclear.AIM To explore the expression pattern ...BACKGROUND Vestigial like family member 3(VGLL3)is associated with the prognosis of epithelial ovarian cancer and soft tissue sarcoma,but its role in gastric cancer(GC)is unclear.AIM To explore the expression pattern and clinical significance of VGLL3 in GC.METHODS Integrative analysis was performed on the GC transcriptome profiles and survival information deposited in the ONCOMINE,GEPIA,and ONCOLNC databases.The expression levels of VGLL3 mRNA and protein were analyzed in the freshly resected tumor and normal gastric tissues from GC patients by quantitative RT-PCR and Western blot,respectively.In addition,the in situ expression of VGLL3 in the GC tissues was determined by immunohistochemistry(IHC),and the patients were accordingly classified into the high and low expression groups.The correlation of VGLL3 expression status with patient prognosis was then determined by univariate and multivariate Cox regression analyses.RESULTS Analysis of the ONCOMINE and GEPIA databases showed that VGLL3 was significantly up-regulated in GC tissues(P=0.003),and associated with the tumor TNM stage(P=0.0163).The high VGLL3 expression group had a significantly worse prognosis compared to the low expression group,as per both GEPIA(P=0.0057)and ONCOLNC(P=0.01).The bioinformatics results were validated by the significantly higher VGLL3 mRNA and protein levels in the GC tissues compared to the adjacent normal tissues(P<0.001)in a cohort of 30 GC patients.Furthermore,high in situ expression of VGLL3 protein was associated with more advanced N and TNM stages and HER2 mutation(P<0.05)in a cohort of 172 patients.Kaplan-Meier analysis showed that the high VGLL3 expression group had a worse prognosis compared to the low expression group(P=0.019).Multivariate analysis showed that VGLL3 expression status was an independent risk factor for prognosis.In addition,the prognostic risk model nomogram showed that VGLL3 was the most important indicator,with an area under the receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve(AUC)of 0.613 for 3-year survival and 0.706 for 5-year survival.Finally,the protein interaction network analysis revealed that VGLL3 is likely involved in the Hippo signaling pathway.CONCLUSION VGLL3 is overexpressed in GC tissues and associated with a poor prognosis,indicating its potential as a novel prognosis biomarker and therapeutic target for GC.展开更多
Objective:To investigate the repairing effect of low intensity pulsed ultrasound(LIPUS)on the Beagle canines periodontal bone defect.Methods:A total of 12 Beagle dogs with periodontal bone defect model were randomly d...Objective:To investigate the repairing effect of low intensity pulsed ultrasound(LIPUS)on the Beagle canines periodontal bone defect.Methods:A total of 12 Beagle dogs with periodontal bone defect model were randomly divided into control group,LIPUS group,guided tissue regeneration(GTR)group and LIPUS+GTR group,with three in each.After completion of the models,no other proceeding was performed in control group;LIPUS group adopt direct exposure to radiation line LIPUS processing 1 week after modeling;GTR group adopted treatment with GTR,following the CTR standard operation reference;LIPUS+GTR group was treated with LIPUS joint GTR.Temperature change before treatment and histopathological change of periodontal tissue after repair was observed.Results:There was no significant difference in temperature changes of periodontal tissue between groups(P>0.05).The amount and maturity of LIPUS+GTR group were superior to other groups;new cementum,dental periodontal bones of GTR group were superior to the control group but less than LIPUS group;new collagen and maturity of the control group is not high relatively.Conclusions:LIPUS can accelerate the calcium salt deposition and new bone maturation,thus it can serve as promoting periodontal tissue repair,and shortening the periodontal tissue repair time.展开更多
BACKGROUND Proteomic signatures of Ming's infiltrative gastric cancer(IGC)remain unknown.AIM To elucidate the molecular characteristics of IGC at the proteomics level.METHODS Twelve pairs of IGC and adjacent norma...BACKGROUND Proteomic signatures of Ming's infiltrative gastric cancer(IGC)remain unknown.AIM To elucidate the molecular characteristics of IGC at the proteomics level.METHODS Twelve pairs of IGC and adjacent normal tissues were collected and their proteomes were analyzed by high performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry.The identified peptides were sequenced de novo and matched against the SwissProt database using Maxquant software.The differentially expressed proteins(DEPs)were screened using|log2(Fold change)|>1 and P-adj<0.01 as the thresholds.The expression levels of selected proteins were verified by Western blotting.The interaction network of the DEPs was constructed with the STRING database and visualized using Cytoscape with cytoHubba software.The DEPs were functionally annotated using clusterProfiler,STRING and DAVID for Gene Ontology(GO)and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)pathways.P<0.05 was considered statistically significant.RESULTS A total of 7361 DEPs were identified,of which 94 were significantly up-regulated and 223 were significantly down-regulated in IGC relative to normal gastric tissues.The top 10 up-regulated proteins were MRTO4,BOP1,PES1,WDR12,BRIX1,NOP2,POLR1C,NOC2L,MYBBP1A and TSR1,and the top 10 down-regulated proteins were NDUFS8,NDUFS6,NDUFA8,NDUFA5,NDUFC2,NDUFB8,NDUFB5,NDUFB9,UQCRC2 and UQCRC1.The up-regulated proteins were enriched for 9 biological processes including DNA replication,ribosome biogenesis and initiation of DNA replication,and the cellular component MCM complex.Among the down-regulated proteins,17 biological processes were enriched,including glucose metabolism,pyruvic acid metabolism and fatty acidβ-oxidation.In addition,the mitochondrial inner membrane,mitochondrial matrix and mitochondrial proton transport ATP synthase complex were among the 6 enriched cellular components,and 11 molecular functions including reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide dehydrogenase activity,acyl-CoA dehydrogenase activity and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide binding were also enriched.The significant KEGG pathways for the up-regulated proteins were DNA replication,cell cycle and mismatch repair,whereas 18 pathways including oxidative phosphorylation,fatty acid degradation and phenylalanine metabolism were significantly enriched among the down-regulated proteins.CONCLUSION The proteins involved in cell cycle regulation,DNA replication and mismatch repair,and metabolism were significantly altered in IGC,and the proteomic profile may enable the discovery of novel biomarkers.展开更多

Objective:To explore the application effect of montelukast in combined with extended care in children with bronchial asthma.Methods:A total of 80 children with bronchial asthma who were admitted in our hospital from M...Objective:To explore the application effect of montelukast in combined with extended care in children with bronchial asthma.Methods:A total of 80 children with bronchial asthma who were admitted in our hospital from May, 2014 to May, 2015 were included in the study and randomized into the observation group and the control group with 40 cases in each group. The patients in the two groups were given routine treatments and pidotimod granules. On this basis, the patients in the observation group were given additional montelukast and extended care after discharge. The fasting peripheral venous blood before treatment and 3 months after treatment in the two groups was collected. The immunoturbidimetry was used to detect the serum IgA, IgG, and IgM. The pulmonary function detector was used to detect FEV1, FVC, and PEF. Follow-up visits were paid to record the asthma attack times, readmission rate, re-first aid rate, and first aid times after discharge within 1 year.Results:IgA and IgG after treatment in the two groups were significantly elevated (P<0.05), while IgM had no significant change (P>0.05). The elevated degree of IgA and IgG in the observation group was significantly greater than that in the control group (P<0.05). FEV1 (L), FVC (L), and PEF (L/min) after treatment in the two groups were significantly elevated when compared with before treatment (P<0.05). The elevated degree of FEV1, FVC, and PEF in the observation group was significantly greater than that in the control group (P<0.05). The asthma attack times, readmission rate, re-first aid rate, and first aid times after discharge within 1 year in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05).Conclusions:The routine treatment in combined with montelukast can better effectively control the symptoms in children with asthma, and improve the pulmonary function. After discharge, the extended care can be more beneficial to control the asthma attack, and enhance the living quality.展开更多
OBJECTIVE To assess the association between beta-blockers and 1-year clinical outcomes in heart failure(HF)patients with atrial fibrillation(AF),and further explore this association that differs by left ventricular ej...OBJECTIVE To assess the association between beta-blockers and 1-year clinical outcomes in heart failure(HF)patients with atrial fibrillation(AF),and further explore this association that differs by left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF)level.METHODS We enrolled hospitalized HF patients with AF from China Patient-centered Evaluative Assessment of Cardiac Events Prospective Heart Failure Study.COX proportional hazard regression models were employed to calculate hazard ratio of betablockers.The primary outcome was all-cause death.RESULTS Among 1762 HF patients with AF(756 women[41.4%]),1041(56%)received beta-blockers at discharge and 1272(72.2%)had an LVEF>40%.During one year follow up,all-cause death occurred in 305(17.3%),cardiovascular death occurred in203 patients(11.5%),and rehospitalizations for HF occurred in 622 patients(35.2%).After adjusting for demographic characteristics,social economic status,smoking status,medical history,anthropometric characteristics,and medications used at discharge,the use of beta-blockers at discharge was not associated with all-cause death[hazard ratio(HR):0.86;95%Confidence Interval(CI):0.65-1.12;P=0.256],cardiovascular death(HR:0.76,95%CI:0.52-1.11;P=0.160),or the composite outcome of all-cause death and HF rehospitalization(HR:0.97,95%CI:0.82-1.14;P=0.687)in the entire cohort.There were no significant interactions between use of beta-blockers at discharge and LVEF with respect to all-cause death,cardiovascular death,or composite outcome.In the adjusted models,the use of beta-blockers at discharge was not associated with all-cause death,cardiovascular death,or composite outcome across the different levels of LVEF:reduced(<40%),mid-range(40%-49%),or preserved LVEF(≥50%).CONCLUSION Among HF patients with AF,the use of beta-blockers at discharge was not associated with 1-year clinical outcomes,regardless of LVEF.展开更多
The effects of inner nanowire radius,shell thickness,the dielectric functions of middle layer and surrounding medium on localized surface plasmon resonance(LSPR)of gold-dielectric-silver nanotube are studied based on ...The effects of inner nanowire radius,shell thickness,the dielectric functions of middle layer and surrounding medium on localized surface plasmon resonance(LSPR)of gold-dielectric-silver nanotube are studied based on the quasi-static approximation.Theoretical calculation results show that LSPR of gold-dielectric-silver nanotube and LSPR numbers can be well optimized by adjusting its geometrical parameters.The longer wavelength of |ω--> mode takes place a distinct red-shift with increasing the inner nanowire radius and the thickness of middle dielectric layer,while a blue-shift with increasing outer nanotube thickness.The physical mechanisms are explained based on the plasmon hybridization theory,induced charges and phase retardation.In addition,the effects of middle dielectric function and surrounding medium on LSPR,and the local electric field factor are also reported.Our study provides the potential applications of gold-dielectricsilver nanotube in biological tissues,sensor and related regions.展开更多

Based on quasi-static approximation, the absorption cross section of SDS-ML nanotubes is plotted as a function of wavelength. The results show that SDS-ML nanotubes exhibit strong coupling between the cylindrical silver and nanotubes. The absorption spectra of LSPRs are strongly influenced by changing the radius of the inner core and outer nanotube shell. The longer wavelength is red-shifted by increasing the radius of the inner core and outer shell, while the short wavelength shows the opposite properties.These phenomena are explained by the plasmon hybridization theory. In addition, for clarity, the distributions of electric field intensity at their plasmon resonance wavelengths are also studied.展开更多
Detecting microwave signals over a wide frequency range is endowed with numerous advantages as it enables simultaneous transmission of a large amount of information and access to more spectrum resources.This capabilit...Detecting microwave signals over a wide frequency range is endowed with numerous advantages as it enables simultaneous transmission of a large amount of information and access to more spectrum resources.This capability is crucial for applications such as microwave communication,remote sensing and radar.However,conventional microwave receiving systems are limited by amplifiers and band-pass filters that can only operate efficiently in a specific frequency range.Typically,these systems can only process signals within a three-fold frequency range,which limits the data transfer bandwidth of the microwave communication systems.Developing novel atom-integrated microwave sensors,for example,radio-frequency(RF)chip–coupled Rydberg atomic receiver,provides opportunities for a large working bandwidth of microwave sensing at the atomic level.In the current work,an ultrawide dual-band RF sensing scheme was demonstrated by spacedivision multiplexing two RF-chip-integrated atomic receiver modules.The system can simultaneously receive dual-band microwave signals that span a frequency range exceeding 6 octaves(300 MHz and 24 GHz).This work paves the way for multi-band microwave reception applications within an ultra-wide range by RF-chip-integrated Rydberg atomic sensor.展开更多

文摘BACKGROUND The expression status of serum and glucocorticoid-induced protein kinase 3(SGK3)in superficial esophageal squamous cell neoplasia(ESCN)remains unknown.AIM To evaluate the SGK3 overexpression rate in ESCN and its influence on the prognosis and outcomes of patients with endoscopic resection.METHODS A total of 92 patients who had undergone endoscopic resection for ESCN with more than 8 years of follow-up were enrolled.Immunohistochemistry was used to evaluate SGK3 expression.RESULTS SGK3 was overexpressed in 55(59.8%)patients with ESCN.SGK3 overexpression showed a significant correlation with death(P=0.031).Overall survival and disease-free survival rates were higher in the normal SGK3 expression group than in the SGK3 overexpression group(P=0.013 and P=0.004,respectively).Cox regression analysis models demonstrated that SGK3 overexpression was an independent predictor of poor prognosis in ESCN patients(hazard ratio 4.729;95% confidence interval:1.042-21.458).CONCLUSION SGK3 overexpression was detected in the majority of patients with endoscopically resected ESCN and was significantly associated with shortened survival.Thus,it might be a new prognostic factor for ESCN.
文摘目的比较不同内镜方式治疗非静脉曲张上消化道出血(NVUGB)的效果。方法在Pubmed、Web of Science、Embase、Cochrane Library、中国生物医学文献数据库、中国知网数据库、万方数据库和维普数据库检索自建库以来至2018年11月公开发表的、有关内镜治疗NVUGB的所有中英文随机对照试验(RCT),对纳入的研究进行质量评价,采用Revman 5.3软件进行Meta分析。结果经过文献筛选后,共37篇RCT最终被纳入分析,共3064例患者。Meta分析结果显示,金属钛夹与药物局部注射比较,即时止血成功率高(RR=1.12,95%CI:1.04~1.21)、再出血率低(RR=0.30,95%CI:0.22~0.42)、急诊外科手术率低(RR=0.24,95%CI:0.13~0.42);金属钛夹与热凝止血比较,再出血率低(RR=0.32,95%CI:0.16~0.65)、即时止血成功率差异无统计学意义(RR=0.96,95%CI:0.89~1.05)、急诊外科手术率差异无统计学意义(RR=0.43,95%CI:0.15~1.25);热凝止血与局部药物注射比较,即时止血成功率差异无统计学意义(RR=1.02,95%CI:0.98~1.05)、再出血率差异无统计学意义(RR=0.98,95%CI:0.76~1.27)、急诊外科手术率差异无统计学意义(RR=1.03,95%CI:0.75~1.41)。结论内镜下金属钛夹治疗NVUGB的疗效优于药物局部注射和热凝止血,具有临床推广和应用价值。
文摘AIM: To explore the effects of liniment levamisole on cellular immune functions of patients with chronic hepatitis B. METHODS: The levels of T lymphocyte subsets and mlL-2R in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) were measured by biotin-streptavidin (BSA) technique in patients with chronic hepatitis B before and after the treatment with liniment levamisole. RESULTS: After one course of treatment with liniment levamisole, the levels of CD3+, CD4+, and the ratio of CD4+/CD8+ increased as compared to those before the treatment but the level of CD8+ decreased. The total expression level of mIL-2R in PBMCs increased before and after the treatment with liniment levamisole. CONCLUSION: Liniment levamisole may reinforce cellular immune functions of patients with chronic hepatitis B.
文摘BACKGROUND Wnt1-inducible signaling pathway protein 1(WISP1)is upregulated in several types of human cancer,and has been implicated in cancer progression.However,its clinical implications in gastric cancer(GC)remain unclear.AIM To explore the expression pattern and clinical significance of WISP1 in GC.METHODS Public data portals,including Oncomine,The Cancer Genome Atlas database,Coexpedia,and Kaplan-Meier plotter,were analyzed for the expression and clinical significance of WISP1 mRNA levels in GC.One hundred and fifty patients who underwent surgery for GC between February 2010 and October 2012 at the Affiliated Hospital of Jiangnan University were selected for validation study.WISP1 levels were measured at both the mRNA and protein levels by RTqPCR,Western blot analysis,and immunohistochemistry(IHC).In addition,the in situ expression of WISP1 in the GC tissues was determined by IHC,and the patients were accordingly classified into high-and low-expression groups.The correlation of WISP1 expression status with patient prognosis was then determined by univariate and multivariate Cox regression analyses.WISP1 was knocked down by RNA interference.The 50%inhibitory concentration of oxaliplatin was detected by CellTiter-Blue assay.RESULTS WISP1 levels at both the mRNA and protein levels were remarkably upregulated in GC tissues compared to normal tissues.Moreover,IHC revealed that WISP1 expression was associated with T stage and chemotherapy outcome,but not with lymph node metastasis,age,gender,histological grade,or histological type.GC patients with high WISP1 expression showed a poor overall survival.Multivariate survival analysis indicated that WISP1 was an important prognostic factor for GC patients.Mechanistically,knock-down of WISP1 expression enhanced sensitivity to oxaliplatin by reducing DNA repair and enhancing DNA damage.CONCLUSION Significantly upregulated WISP1 expression is associated with cancer progression,chemotherapy outcome,and prognosis in GC.Mechanistically,knock-down of WISP1 expression enhances oxaliplatin sensitivity by reducing DNA repair and enhancing DNA damage.WISP1 may be a potential therapeutic target for GC treatment or a potential biomarker for diagnosis and prognosis.

文摘Fractures in oil and gas reservoirs have been the topic of many studies and have attracted reservoir research all over the world. Because of the complexities of the fractures, it is difficult to use fractured reservoir core samples to investigate true underground conditions. Due to the diversity of the fracture parameters, the simulation and evaluation of fractured rock in the laboratory setting is also difficult. Previous researchers have typically used a single material, such as resin, to simulate fractures. There has been a great deal of simplifying of the materials and conditions, which has led to disappointing results in application. In the present study, sandstone core samples were selected and sectioned to simulate fractures, and the changes of the compressional and shear waves were measured with the gradual increasing of the fracture width. The effects of the simulated fracture width on the acoustic wave velocity and amplitude were analyzed. Two variables were defined: H represents the amplitude attenuation ratio of the compressional and shear wave, and x represents the transit time difference value of the shear wave and compressional wave divided by the transit time of the compressional wave. The effect of fracture width on these two physical quantities was then analyzed. Finally, the methods of quantitative evaluation for fracture width with H and x were obtained. The experimental results showed that the rock fractures linearly reduced the velocity of the shear and compressional waves. The effect of twin fractures on thecompressional velocity was almost equal to that of a single fracture which had the same fracture width as the sum of the twin fractures. At the same time, the existence of fractures led to acoustic wave amplitude attenuations, and the compressional wave attenuation was two times greater than that of the shear wave. In this paper, a method was proposed to calculate the fracture width with x and H, then this was applied to the array acoustic imaging logging data.The application examples showed that the calculated fracture width could be compared with fractures on the electric imaging logs. These rules were applied in the well logs to effectively evaluate the fractures, under the case of no image logs, which had significance to prospecting and development of oil and gas in fractured reservoirs.

文摘AIM:To introduce a modified technique of internal limiting membrane(ILM)centripetal dragging and peeling to treat idiopathic macular hole(IMH)and to observe the ILM-retina adhesive forces.METHODS:Twenty-six consecutive patients with stage 3 to 4 IMH and followed up at least six months were enrolled.All patients underwent complete par plana vitrectomy,ILM dragging and peeling,fluid and gas exchange,15%C3 F8 tamponade and 2-week prone position.The best corrected visual acuity,macular hole evaluation by optical coherence tomography,and complications were evaluated.RESULTS:The mean diameter of IMH was 524±148μm(range:201-683μm),with 21 cases(80.8%)greater than 400μm.ILM dragging and peeling were successfully performed in all cases.Most of the ILM-retina adhesive forces are severe(42.3%,11/26),followed by mild(38.5%,10/26),and moderate(19.2%,5/26).The mean follow-up duration was 21.2±6.1 mo.The IMH was closed in 25(96.3%)eyes.Visual acuity(logMAR)improved significantly from 1.2±0.6 preoperatively to 0.7±0.5 postoperatively(P<0.001).CONCLUSION:Preexisting ILM-retina adhesive force is found in IMH patients.With assistance of this force,this modified technique may help to release the IMH edges and improve the closure rate of large IMH.
文摘Objective To evaluate metabolic abnormalities in patients with mesial temporal lobe epilepsy (MTLE) with proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) using a 3.0T MR scanner. Methods Sixty-three patients (32 women and 31 men) with diagnosed MTLE underwent diagnostic MR imaging (MRI) and proton MRS using a 3.0T MR scanner. The clinical history and interictal epileptiform discharges (IEDs) were recorded. Sixteen healthy volunteers served as control. The results of proton MRS were compared with the findings of electroencephalogram and structural MRI findings. Results Twenty-seven of the 63 patients with MTLE showed unilateral hippocampal sclerosis, and 9 showed bilateral hippocampal sclerosis. The concentration ratio of N-acytelaspartate (NAA) / [ creatine ( Cr ) + choline (Cho) ] in the hippocampal region of MTLE patients (0. 64±0. 07) was significantly lower than control (0. 80±0. 05, P = 0.023). In the patients with unilateral hippocampal sclerosis, NAA/(Cr + Cho) in the hippocampal region ipsilateral to the sclerotic hippocampus (0.56±0.06) was significantly lower than the ratio in the contralateral hippocampal region (0.69±0.07, P 〈 0. 001 ). There was significant difference in hippocampal NAA/( Cr + Cho) between the refractory patients and the non-refractory patients (0. 64±0. 05 vs.0.71±0. 07, P =0. 04). Forty-five patients were lateralized by IEDs, while 49 patients were lateralized by metabolite ratio. And lateralization determined by proton MRS and IEDs was concordant in 33 patients. Conclusions MRS as a noninvasive tool adds helpful metabolite information to routine MRI in evaluation of MTLE. The method is well established and should be a routine clinical application in the investigation of epilepsy.

文摘BACKGROUND Vestigial like family member 3(VGLL3)is associated with the prognosis of epithelial ovarian cancer and soft tissue sarcoma,but its role in gastric cancer(GC)is unclear.AIM To explore the expression pattern and clinical significance of VGLL3 in GC.METHODS Integrative analysis was performed on the GC transcriptome profiles and survival information deposited in the ONCOMINE,GEPIA,and ONCOLNC databases.The expression levels of VGLL3 mRNA and protein were analyzed in the freshly resected tumor and normal gastric tissues from GC patients by quantitative RT-PCR and Western blot,respectively.In addition,the in situ expression of VGLL3 in the GC tissues was determined by immunohistochemistry(IHC),and the patients were accordingly classified into the high and low expression groups.The correlation of VGLL3 expression status with patient prognosis was then determined by univariate and multivariate Cox regression analyses.RESULTS Analysis of the ONCOMINE and GEPIA databases showed that VGLL3 was significantly up-regulated in GC tissues(P=0.003),and associated with the tumor TNM stage(P=0.0163).The high VGLL3 expression group had a significantly worse prognosis compared to the low expression group,as per both GEPIA(P=0.0057)and ONCOLNC(P=0.01).The bioinformatics results were validated by the significantly higher VGLL3 mRNA and protein levels in the GC tissues compared to the adjacent normal tissues(P<0.001)in a cohort of 30 GC patients.Furthermore,high in situ expression of VGLL3 protein was associated with more advanced N and TNM stages and HER2 mutation(P<0.05)in a cohort of 172 patients.Kaplan-Meier analysis showed that the high VGLL3 expression group had a worse prognosis compared to the low expression group(P=0.019).Multivariate analysis showed that VGLL3 expression status was an independent risk factor for prognosis.In addition,the prognostic risk model nomogram showed that VGLL3 was the most important indicator,with an area under the receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve(AUC)of 0.613 for 3-year survival and 0.706 for 5-year survival.Finally,the protein interaction network analysis revealed that VGLL3 is likely involved in the Hippo signaling pathway.CONCLUSION VGLL3 is overexpressed in GC tissues and associated with a poor prognosis,indicating its potential as a novel prognosis biomarker and therapeutic target for GC.

文摘Objective:To investigate the repairing effect of low intensity pulsed ultrasound(LIPUS)on the Beagle canines periodontal bone defect.Methods:A total of 12 Beagle dogs with periodontal bone defect model were randomly divided into control group,LIPUS group,guided tissue regeneration(GTR)group and LIPUS+GTR group,with three in each.After completion of the models,no other proceeding was performed in control group;LIPUS group adopt direct exposure to radiation line LIPUS processing 1 week after modeling;GTR group adopted treatment with GTR,following the CTR standard operation reference;LIPUS+GTR group was treated with LIPUS joint GTR.Temperature change before treatment and histopathological change of periodontal tissue after repair was observed.Results:There was no significant difference in temperature changes of periodontal tissue between groups(P>0.05).The amount and maturity of LIPUS+GTR group were superior to other groups;new cementum,dental periodontal bones of GTR group were superior to the control group but less than LIPUS group;new collagen and maturity of the control group is not high relatively.Conclusions:LIPUS can accelerate the calcium salt deposition and new bone maturation,thus it can serve as promoting periodontal tissue repair,and shortening the periodontal tissue repair time.

文摘BACKGROUND Proteomic signatures of Ming's infiltrative gastric cancer(IGC)remain unknown.AIM To elucidate the molecular characteristics of IGC at the proteomics level.METHODS Twelve pairs of IGC and adjacent normal tissues were collected and their proteomes were analyzed by high performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry.The identified peptides were sequenced de novo and matched against the SwissProt database using Maxquant software.The differentially expressed proteins(DEPs)were screened using|log2(Fold change)|>1 and P-adj<0.01 as the thresholds.The expression levels of selected proteins were verified by Western blotting.The interaction network of the DEPs was constructed with the STRING database and visualized using Cytoscape with cytoHubba software.The DEPs were functionally annotated using clusterProfiler,STRING and DAVID for Gene Ontology(GO)and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)pathways.P<0.05 was considered statistically significant.RESULTS A total of 7361 DEPs were identified,of which 94 were significantly up-regulated and 223 were significantly down-regulated in IGC relative to normal gastric tissues.The top 10 up-regulated proteins were MRTO4,BOP1,PES1,WDR12,BRIX1,NOP2,POLR1C,NOC2L,MYBBP1A and TSR1,and the top 10 down-regulated proteins were NDUFS8,NDUFS6,NDUFA8,NDUFA5,NDUFC2,NDUFB8,NDUFB5,NDUFB9,UQCRC2 and UQCRC1.The up-regulated proteins were enriched for 9 biological processes including DNA replication,ribosome biogenesis and initiation of DNA replication,and the cellular component MCM complex.Among the down-regulated proteins,17 biological processes were enriched,including glucose metabolism,pyruvic acid metabolism and fatty acidβ-oxidation.In addition,the mitochondrial inner membrane,mitochondrial matrix and mitochondrial proton transport ATP synthase complex were among the 6 enriched cellular components,and 11 molecular functions including reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide dehydrogenase activity,acyl-CoA dehydrogenase activity and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide binding were also enriched.The significant KEGG pathways for the up-regulated proteins were DNA replication,cell cycle and mismatch repair,whereas 18 pathways including oxidative phosphorylation,fatty acid degradation and phenylalanine metabolism were significantly enriched among the down-regulated proteins.CONCLUSION The proteins involved in cell cycle regulation,DNA replication and mismatch repair,and metabolism were significantly altered in IGC,and the proteomic profile may enable the discovery of novel biomarkers.

文摘Solanum lyratum is one of the temperate plants,broadly distributed in Korea,China,Japan,India,and South-East Asia and well-documented in those oriental ethnic medicine systems for curing cancers,jaundice,edema,gonorrhea,cholecystitis,phlogosis,rheumatoid arthritis,etc.This review systematically summarized the research progress on S.lyratum respecting the botany,traditional uses,phytochemistry,pharmacology,and toxicology to increase people’s in-depth understanding of this plant,by data retrieval in a series of online or off-line electronic databases as far as we can reach.Steroidal saponins and alkaloids,terpenoids,nitrogenous compounds,and flavonoid compounds are the main chemical constituents in S.lyratum.Among them,steroidal alkaloids and saponins are the major active ingredi-ents ever found in S.lyratum,exerting activities of anti-cancer,anti-inflammation,anti-microbial,anti-allergy,and anti-oxidation in vivo or in vitro.As a result,S.lyratum has been frequently prescribed for the abovementioned therapeutic purposes,and there are substantial traditional and modern shreds of evidence of its use.
文摘Objective:To explore the application effect of montelukast in combined with extended care in children with bronchial asthma.Methods:A total of 80 children with bronchial asthma who were admitted in our hospital from May, 2014 to May, 2015 were included in the study and randomized into the observation group and the control group with 40 cases in each group. The patients in the two groups were given routine treatments and pidotimod granules. On this basis, the patients in the observation group were given additional montelukast and extended care after discharge. The fasting peripheral venous blood before treatment and 3 months after treatment in the two groups was collected. The immunoturbidimetry was used to detect the serum IgA, IgG, and IgM. The pulmonary function detector was used to detect FEV1, FVC, and PEF. Follow-up visits were paid to record the asthma attack times, readmission rate, re-first aid rate, and first aid times after discharge within 1 year.Results:IgA and IgG after treatment in the two groups were significantly elevated (P<0.05), while IgM had no significant change (P>0.05). The elevated degree of IgA and IgG in the observation group was significantly greater than that in the control group (P<0.05). FEV1 (L), FVC (L), and PEF (L/min) after treatment in the two groups were significantly elevated when compared with before treatment (P<0.05). The elevated degree of FEV1, FVC, and PEF in the observation group was significantly greater than that in the control group (P<0.05). The asthma attack times, readmission rate, re-first aid rate, and first aid times after discharge within 1 year in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05).Conclusions:The routine treatment in combined with montelukast can better effectively control the symptoms in children with asthma, and improve the pulmonary function. After discharge, the extended care can be more beneficial to control the asthma attack, and enhance the living quality.

文摘OBJECTIVE To assess the association between beta-blockers and 1-year clinical outcomes in heart failure(HF)patients with atrial fibrillation(AF),and further explore this association that differs by left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF)level.METHODS We enrolled hospitalized HF patients with AF from China Patient-centered Evaluative Assessment of Cardiac Events Prospective Heart Failure Study.COX proportional hazard regression models were employed to calculate hazard ratio of betablockers.The primary outcome was all-cause death.RESULTS Among 1762 HF patients with AF(756 women[41.4%]),1041(56%)received beta-blockers at discharge and 1272(72.2%)had an LVEF>40%.During one year follow up,all-cause death occurred in 305(17.3%),cardiovascular death occurred in203 patients(11.5%),and rehospitalizations for HF occurred in 622 patients(35.2%).After adjusting for demographic characteristics,social economic status,smoking status,medical history,anthropometric characteristics,and medications used at discharge,the use of beta-blockers at discharge was not associated with all-cause death[hazard ratio(HR):0.86;95%Confidence Interval(CI):0.65-1.12;P=0.256],cardiovascular death(HR:0.76,95%CI:0.52-1.11;P=0.160),or the composite outcome of all-cause death and HF rehospitalization(HR:0.97,95%CI:0.82-1.14;P=0.687)in the entire cohort.There were no significant interactions between use of beta-blockers at discharge and LVEF with respect to all-cause death,cardiovascular death,or composite outcome.In the adjusted models,the use of beta-blockers at discharge was not associated with all-cause death,cardiovascular death,or composite outcome across the different levels of LVEF:reduced(<40%),mid-range(40%-49%),or preserved LVEF(≥50%).CONCLUSION Among HF patients with AF,the use of beta-blockers at discharge was not associated with 1-year clinical outcomes,regardless of LVEF.

文摘The effects of inner nanowire radius,shell thickness,the dielectric functions of middle layer and surrounding medium on localized surface plasmon resonance(LSPR)of gold-dielectric-silver nanotube are studied based on the quasi-static approximation.Theoretical calculation results show that LSPR of gold-dielectric-silver nanotube and LSPR numbers can be well optimized by adjusting its geometrical parameters.The longer wavelength of |ω--> mode takes place a distinct red-shift with increasing the inner nanowire radius and the thickness of middle dielectric layer,while a blue-shift with increasing outer nanotube thickness.The physical mechanisms are explained based on the plasmon hybridization theory,induced charges and phase retardation.In addition,the effects of middle dielectric function and surrounding medium on LSPR,and the local electric field factor are also reported.Our study provides the potential applications of gold-dielectricsilver nanotube in biological tissues,sensor and related regions.

文摘Local surface plasmon resonances(LSPRs) of silver-dielectric-silver multi-layered(SDS-ML) nanotubes are studied by theoretical calculations. Based on quasi-static approximation, the absorption cross section of SDS-ML nanotubes is plotted as a function of wavelength. The results show that SDS-ML nanotubes exhibit strong coupling between the cylindrical silver and nanotubes. The absorption spectra of LSPRs are strongly influenced by changing the radius of the inner core and outer nanotube shell. The longer wavelength is red-shifted by increasing the radius of the inner core and outer shell, while the short wavelength shows the opposite properties.These phenomena are explained by the plasmon hybridization theory. In addition, for clarity, the distributions of electric field intensity at their plasmon resonance wavelengths are also studied.

文摘Detecting microwave signals over a wide frequency range is endowed with numerous advantages as it enables simultaneous transmission of a large amount of information and access to more spectrum resources.This capability is crucial for applications such as microwave communication,remote sensing and radar.However,conventional microwave receiving systems are limited by amplifiers and band-pass filters that can only operate efficiently in a specific frequency range.Typically,these systems can only process signals within a three-fold frequency range,which limits the data transfer bandwidth of the microwave communication systems.Developing novel atom-integrated microwave sensors,for example,radio-frequency(RF)chip–coupled Rydberg atomic receiver,provides opportunities for a large working bandwidth of microwave sensing at the atomic level.In the current work,an ultrawide dual-band RF sensing scheme was demonstrated by spacedivision multiplexing two RF-chip-integrated atomic receiver modules.The system can simultaneously receive dual-band microwave signals that span a frequency range exceeding 6 octaves(300 MHz and 24 GHz).This work paves the way for multi-band microwave reception applications within an ultra-wide range by RF-chip-integrated Rydberg atomic sensor.
