To obtain magnesium alloys with a low density and improved mechanical properties,Y element was added into Mg−4Li−3Al(wt.%)alloys,and the effect of Y content on microstructure evolution and mechanical properties was investigated by using optical microscopy,scanning electron microscopy and tensile tests.The results show that mechanical properties of as-cast Mg−4Li−3Al alloys with Y addition are significantly improved as a result of hot extrusion.The best comprehensive mechanical properties are obtained in hot-extruded Mg−4Li−3Al−1.5Y alloy,which possesses high ultimate tensile strength(UTS=248 MPa)and elongation(δ=27%).The improvement of mechanical properties of hot-extruded Mg−4Li−3Al−1.5Y alloy was mainly attributed to combined effects of grain refinement,solid solution strengthening and precipitation strengthening. 展开更多

For enhancement of mechanical properties in Mg-9Li-3Al alloys,Mg-9Li-3Al duplex alloys were alloyed by addition of Sn and Y.Microstructure evolution and mechanical property response of as-cast Mg-9Li-3Al alloys by alloying with Sn and Y were investigated by optical microscopy,scanning electron microscopy,X-ray diffractometry and tensile tests.The results indicate that considerable blocky dendrites of primaryαphase in Mg-9Li-3Al alloys become lath-like due to the addition of Sn.With addition of Y,Mg-9Li-3Al alloy consists of both block-like and lath-likeα-Mg dendrites.The as-cast Mg-9Li-3Al-1Sn-1Y alloy shows a yield strength of118MPa,ultimate tensile strength of148MPa and the elongation to failure of21%.Improvement in both strength and elongation of Mg-9Li-3Al alloys with Sn and Y addition is attributed to the combined action of MgLi2Sn and Al2Y intermetallic compounds. 展开更多

Hot compression behavior of Ti-5 Al-5 Mo-5 V-1 Cr-1 Fe alloy with an equiaxed(α+β) starting microstructure was investigated by isothermal compression test and optical microscopy. Based on the true strain-stress data with temperature correction, constitutive models with a high accuracy were developed and processing maps were established. Strain inhomogeneity at different locations in the compressed sample is reduced by raising temperature, leading to a uniform distribution of α phases. For the temperature range of 800-840 ℃ with a strain rate of 10 s^-1, the transformed volume fraction of α phase increases and the average grain size of α phase decreases slightly with increasing the temperature, indicating co-existence of dynamic recovery and dynamic recrystallization. Flow localization and faint β grain boundaries are observed at the strain rate of 10 s^-1 in the temperature range of 860-900 ℃. The processing map analysis shows that hot working of Ti-5 Al-5 Mo-5 V-1 Cr-1 Fe alloy should be conducted with the strain rate lower than 0.01 s^-1 to extend its workability. 展开更多

The objective of this study is to evaluate the healthy and unhealthy behaviors as risk factors for chronic constipation and self-rated health status. Eight hundred tenth students enrolled from a university in Miaoli city, Taiwan. Chronic constipation was assessed using Chinese questionnaire. Information of unhealthy and healthy lifestyles was interviewed by constructed questionnaire. Thirty-six percentage of university students were assessed as chronic constipation. Using multivariate logistic regression adjusted for age, sex, race and BMI, we found chronic constipation significantly correlated with frequency of consumption from snack, fast food, fried food, daily consumption of water, physical activity and junk food used as regular food. Moreover, these unhealthy behaviors significantly correlated with self-rated health status. Students with chronic constipation had poor self-rated health status. It is urgent to create healthy behaviors to reduce the risk for chronic constipation or upgrade self-rated health status in university students. 展开更多
