BACKGROUND Although immune checkpoint inhibitor(ICI)therapy has improved the prognosis of unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC),it has also resulted in unique immune-related adverse events(irAEs).The relationship...BACKGROUND Although immune checkpoint inhibitor(ICI)therapy has improved the prognosis of unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC),it has also resulted in unique immune-related adverse events(irAEs).The relationship between irAE and treatment outcomes in ICI-treated unresectable HCC patients remains unknown.AIM To elucidate the correlation between immune-related toxic effects and prognosis in patients with unresectable HCC treated with pembrolizumab.METHODS From March 2019 to February 2021,a total of 190 unresectable HCC(Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer C)patients receiving pembrolizumab treatment were retrospectively reviewed.Overall survival(OS)was the primary endpoint,while objective response rate(ORR),disease control rate(DCR),and time to progression(TTP)were secondary evaluation indexes.We assessed demographics,irAEs,and outcomes by retrospective review.RESULTS One hundred and forty-three males and 47 females were included in the study.The ORR and DCR were 12.1%(23/190)and 52.1%(99/190),respectively.The median OS was 376 d[95%confidence interval(CI):340-411 d]and the median TTP was 98 d(95%CI:75-124 d).The overall incidence of treatment-related adverse events was 72.6%(138/190)and 10.0%of them were severe irAEs(grade≥3).Child-Pugh B class,portal vein tumor thrombus,extrahepatic metastasis,and hypothyroidism were the independent risk factors for survival.Patients with hypothyroidism showed a longer OS[517 d(95%CI:423-562)vs 431 d(95%CI:412-485),P=0.011]and TTP[125 d(95%CI:89-154)vs 87 d(95%CI:61-98),P=0.004]than those without irAEs.CONCLUSION Pembrolizumab-treated patients with unresectable HCC who experienced hypothyroidism have promising ORR and durable response.Hypothyroidism,an irAE,may be used as a clinical evaluation parameter of response to ICIs in unresectable HCC.展开更多

The compressive strength of mortar samples reaches 51.48 MPa after 28 d curing. The analyses of X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) show that much ettringite is formed in the sample cured for 3 d, and C-S-H gel increases rapidly during subsequent curing. Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) analysis of 29Si and 27Al and infrared spectroscopy (IR) analysis show that aluminum decomposition from tetrahedral network of the slag glass and its subsequent migration and re-combination play an important role in the process of hydration and strength development of the samples.展开更多
背景与目的目前,关于我国口咽癌(oropharyngeal cancer,OPC)的发病率、死亡率和时间格局的相关数据较少。我们根据135个国内居民肿瘤登记处的数据估算了中国2008–2012年OPC的发病率、死亡率和时间格局,更清楚地了解了中国OPC的流行病...背景与目的目前,关于我国口咽癌(oropharyngeal cancer,OPC)的发病率、死亡率和时间格局的相关数据较少。我们根据135个国内居民肿瘤登记处的数据估算了中国2008–2012年OPC的发病率、死亡率和时间格局,更清楚地了解了中国OPC的流行病学特点,为OPC的预防和控制提供更精确的信息。方法根据2008–2012年135个肿瘤登记处的OPC诊断数据,我们按照年龄、性别和地区,以2000年中国标准人口为标准估算了中国年龄标准化发病率和死亡率(age-standardized rate of incidence by Chinese standard population,ASRIC和age-standardized rate of mortality by Chinese standard population,ASRMC),以1985年Segi's世界标准人口为标准估算了世界年龄标准化发病率和死亡率(age-standardized rate of incidence byworld standard population,ASRIW和age-standardized rate of mortality by world standard population,ASRMW)。采用Joinpoint软件计算OPC发病率和死亡率的年百分比变化。结果 ASRIW和ASRMW分别为2.22/100,000人–年和0.94/100,000人–年。城市地区的发病率和死亡率高于农村地区。男性的ASRIC和ASRIW高于女性。OPC的总ASRIC从2003年到2006年每年显著提高6.2%(P=0.038),但在2007年到2012年间保持稳定(P=0.392)。在近10年,男性和农村地区的ASRIC和ASRMC显著提高(P <0.05),但同一时期女性的相关比例数据仍保持稳定(P> 0.05)。结论近10年,在中国多个肿瘤登记处OPC的发病率和死亡率显著增加,尤其是男性和农村地区,但女性的相关比例数据仍保持稳定。应倡导健康的生活方式,并加强OPC早期诊断和早期治疗措施。展开更多

Methods A total of 189 infertile couples underwent 331 cycles of lUI with husband's sperm. They were separated into 3 groups according to the time of hCG administration in IUI: hCG 1-23 h (group A); hCG 24-36 h (group B); hCG 37-48 h (group C). Results There were no statistical differences among 3 groups. None of the other relative factors, such as the female age, the different methods of ovulation and the cause of infertility, showed differences in pregnancy rate among 3 groups. Conclusion IUI can be performed any time after administration of hCG (1-48 h).展开更多

Methods A total of 301 healthy women with cesarean section and a matched control group of 3...Objective To compare the medical outcomes of infants delivered by cesarean section with those of infants delivered vaginally. Methods A total of 301 healthy women with cesarean section and a matched control group of 301 women delivered vaginally were identified at three district-level hospitals in Shanghai from May 2001 to February 2003. Two groups were matched according to their medical indications for cesarean section. Their infants were assessed at delivery, 1 month, 6 month and 1 year after birth. Results The incidence of neonatal complications and infant morbidities at all measurement occasions did not differ significantly between groups. Rehospitalization was found to be more likely among infants delivered by cesarean section in the first month after birth. However, there was no difference between two groups in the incidence of rehospitalization in the first year after birth. Cesarean section was also associated with a higher risk of infant diarrhea (adjusted relative risk=1.25, 95% CI: 1.01, 1.56). Conclusion Infants did not have health benefits from cesarean section if the pregnancy was at low risk.展开更多

However, P3HTT gen...Regioregular poly(3-hexylthio)thiopene(P3HTT) has emerged tremendous potential in organic electronic applications due to the strong noncovalent interactions from the sulfur atom linked to thiophene. However, P3HTT generally exhibits low charge mobility mostly due to poor solution processability attributed to dense arrangement of hexylthio side chain in polymer, which led to strong noncovalent interactions among sulfur atoms. To balance the nonvalent interaction and aggregation for P3HTT, herein, we systematically study the effect of hexylthio side chain content in polymer backbone on the structure and properties. A series of regioregular P3HTT-based homopolymers(P3HTT, P3HTT-50,P3HTT-33 and P3HTT-25) were prepared via Kumada catalyst transfer polycondensation method from a set of mono-, bi-, ter-and quarterthiophenes containing different contents of hexylthio side chain. The DFT calculation shows the planarity of polymers backbone could be improved through reducing the density of hexylthio side chain in polymer mainchain. And significant changes in their crystallinity, aggregation and optical properties were observed with the content of hexylthio side chain reducing. The P3HTT-33 displayed the highest field-effect transistor hole mobility of 2.83×10^(-2) cm^(2)·V^(-1)·s^(-1) resulting from a balance between the crystallinity and planarity. This study demonstrates modulating the content of hexylthio side chain in P3HTT is an effective strategy to optimize the opto-electronic properties of polymer obtaining excellent semiconductor device performance.展开更多
Supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO2) was used as a reaction medium in synthesizing amphiphilic graft copolymers composed of poly(styrene-co-maleic anhydride) (SMA) backbones and methoxyl poly(ethylene glycol) ...Supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO2) was used as a reaction medium in synthesizing amphiphilic graft copolymers composed of poly(styrene-co-maleic anhydride) (SMA) backbones and methoxyl poly(ethylene glycol) (MPEG) side chains via esterification. The synthesized copolymers were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), gel permeation chromatography (GPC), IH-NMR, thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetric analysis (DSC). The gelation phenomenon was suppressed effectively by tuning reaction conditions. The influences of scCO2 temperature and pressure on the conversion of anhydride were investigated. It was found that the highest conversion ratio occurred at 80~C under a constant pressure of 14 MPa or 26 MPa. With the increase of scCO2 pressure, the conversion ratio increased first, and then leveled off. The conversion ratio of anhydride could be controlled by regulating the reaction conditions. It was also revealed that using low molecular weight MPEG brought a high conversion ratio of anhydride.展开更多

However, the mechanism underlying tau hyperphosphorylation is not fully unders...Hyperphosphorylated tau is the major protein component of neurofibrillary tangles in the brains of patients with Alzheimer’s disease(AD). However, the mechanism underlying tau hyperphosphorylation is not fully understood. Here, we demonstrated that exogenously expressed wild-type human tau40 was detectable in the phosphorylated form at multiple AD-associated sites in cytoplasmic and nuclear fractions from HEK293 cells.Among these sites, tau phosphorylated at Thr205 and Ser214 was almost exclusively found in the nuclear fraction at the conditions used in the present study. With the intracellular tau accumulation, the Ca2+concentration was significantly increased in both cytoplasmic and nuclear fractions. Further studies using site-specific mutagenesis and pharmacological treatment demonstrated that phosphorylation of tau at Thr205 increased nuclear Ca2+concentration with a simultaneous increase in the phosphorylation of Ca2+/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase IV(Ca MKIV) at Ser196. On the other hand, phosphorylation of tau at Ser214 did not significantly change the nuclear Ca2+/Ca MKIV signaling. Finally, expressing calmodulin-binding protein-4 that disrupts formation ofthe Ca2+/calmodulin complex abolished the okadaic acidinduced tau hyperphosphorylation in the nuclear fraction.We conclude that the intracellular accumulation of phosphorylated tau, as detected in the brains of AD patients, can trigger nuclear Ca2+/Ca MKIV signaling, which in turn aggravates tau hyperphosphorylation. Our findings provide new insights for tauopathies: hyperphosphorylation of intracellular tau and an increased Ca2+concentration may induce a self-perpetuating harmful loop to promote neurodegeneration.展开更多

Here, we demonstrate a kind of novel tough and reusable hydrogel beads with quite high capacity of dye adsorption via incorporating mussel-bioinspired poly(L-DOPA) (PDOPA) into alginate/poly(acrylamide) double network (DN) hydrogels. The synthesized PDOPA nanoaggregates were introduced into the DN hydrogels by simple one-pot mixing with the monomers prior to polymerization. The fabricated hydrogel beads exhibited high mechanical strength and good elastic recovery due to the interpenetrating Ca2+-alginate and poly(acrylamide) networks. It was shown that the beads exhibited relatively high dye adsorption capacity compared to other adsorbents reported in literature, and the introduction of PDOPA with an appropriate amount raised the adsorption capacity. It is believed that the addition of PDOPA and the matrix of double network architecture contributed synergistically to the high adsorption capacity of hydrogel beads. Moreover, the desorption of dyes could be easily realized via rinsing in acidic water and ethanol solution. The hydrogel beads remained the high adsorption capacity even after 5 times of adsorption and desorption cycles. This tough and stable hydrogel with high adsorption capacity may have potential in treatment of dye wastewater released by textile dyeing industry.展开更多
Background:Thus far,the incidence,mortality,and temporal trend data of oropharyngeal cancers(OPC)in China were few.We estimated the incidence,mortality,and temporal patterns of OPC in China during 2008-2012 according ...Background:Thus far,the incidence,mortality,and temporal trend data of oropharyngeal cancers(OPC)in China were few.We estimated the incidence,mortality,and temporal patterns of OPC in China during 2008-2012 according to the data from 135 population-based cancer registries to better understand the epidemiological pattern of OPC and to provide more precise information for OPC control in China.Methods:According to the data of diagnosed OPC reported to 135 cancer registries during 2008-2012,we calcu-lated age-standardized rate of incidence and mortality by 2000 Chinese standard population(ASRIC and ASRMC)and by 1985 Segi’s world standard population(ASRIW and ASRMW)by age,sex,and geographic regions;annual percent-age changes of OPC incidence and mortality were calculated using Joinpoint trend analysis.Results:ASRIW and ASRMW were 2.22/100,000 person-years and 0.94/100,000 person-years,respectively.The incidence and mortality in urban areas were higher than those in rural areas.ASRIC and ASRIW of males were higher than those of females.The overall ASRIC of OPC was significantly increased by 6.2%annually between 2003 and 2006(P=0.038),but remained stable between 2007 and 2012(P=0.392).ASRIC and ASRMC of males and in rural areas were significantly increased in the last decade(P<0.05),but the rates of females remained stable during the same period(P>0.05).Conclusions:Across multiple cancer registries in China,there was an obvious increase in OPC in the recent decade,especially for incidence and mortality of males and in rural areas,whereas the rates of females remained stable.A healthy lifestyle should be advocated and early diagnosis and early treatment of OPC should be enhanced.展开更多

The kinetics of synthesis was carefully investigated, and it is proven that the grafting polymerization process can be effectively controlled by regulating the reaction time. The membranes are fabricated using PVC and copolymers by non-solvent induced phase separation(NIPS) process. The hydrophilicity and pore structure of copolymer membranes were enhanced as well, these membranes are endowed with positive charge. When PDMA%(i.e., the PDMA weight percentage in copolymer) is 31.1%, the flux and Victoria blue B rejection are 26.0 L·m·^-2·h^-1(0.5 MPa) and 91.2%, respectively. Thus, the newly synthesized polymer is proven to be a promising material for dye separation with positive charges.展开更多

The dimension reduction is helpful and often necessary in exploring the nonparametric regression structure.In this area,Sliced inverse regression (SIR) is a promising tool to estimate the central dimension reduction (...The dimension reduction is helpful and often necessary in exploring the nonparametric regression structure.In this area,Sliced inverse regression (SIR) is a promising tool to estimate the central dimension reduction (CDR) space.To estimate the kernel matrix of the SIR,we herein suggest the spline approximation using the least squares regression.The heteroscedasticity can be incorporated well by introducing an appropriate weight function.The root-n asymptotic normality can be achieved for a wide range choice of knots.This is essentially analogous to the kernel estimation.Moreover, we also propose a modified Bayes information criterion (BIC) based on the eigenvalues of the SIR matrix.This modified BIC can be applied to any form of the SIR and other related methods.The methodology and some of the practical issues are illustrated through the horse mussel data.Empirical studies evidence the performance of our proposed spline approximation by comparison of the existing estimators.展开更多

Synthetic polymer membranes are widely used in many applications,including,among others,water purification,protein separation,and medicine.However,the use of existing polymer membranes faces major challenges,such as t...Synthetic polymer membranes are widely used in many applications,including,among others,water purification,protein separation,and medicine.However,the use of existing polymer membranes faces major challenges,such as the trade-off between permeability and selectivity,membrane fouling,and poor mechanical strength.To address these problems the authors have focused their research on surface/interfacial tailoring and the structure-property relationship of polymer membranes used in liquid separation systems.Progress has been made as follows:(1)a methodology for membrane surface functionalization and nanofiltration(NF)membrane preparation based on mussel-inspired catecholic chemistry was proposed and established;(2)a class of mechanically robust and environmentally-responsive composite membranes with hydrogel pore-filled in rigid macroporous supports was designed and developed;(3)a methodology for surface tailoring and antifouling modification of polymer membranes based on amphiphilic copolymers was created and the scientific implications for amphiphilic polymer membranes elaborated;(4)an adsorption membrane with both filtration and adsorption functions was designed and developed to achieve rapid removal of trace micropollutants,including heavy metal ions,organic dyes,plasticizer,antibiotics,and others.This mini-review briefly summarizes this work.展开更多

文摘通过高温固相技术合成Ho^(3+)和Yb^(3+)共掺杂La_(7)P_(3)O_(18)上转换荧光粉。XRD结果表明,合成样品是空间群为P21/n的单斜结构的La_(7)P_(3)O_(18)晶体和少量La PO4晶体的混合物。紫外可见漫反射光谱结果证实La_(7)P_(3)O_(18)晶体是一种光学带隙为4.10 e V的间接半导体。经980 nm激光激发,Ho^(3+)和Yb^(3+)共掺杂La_(7)P_(3)O_(18)荧光粉发射出Ho^(3+)离子特征的蓝色(486 nm)、绿色(550 nm)和红色(661 nm)特征峰,其中,661 nm处发射峰在样品上转换发光光谱中占主导地位。此外,随着Ho^(3+)和Yb^(3+)掺杂量的增加,样品上转换发光强度先增大后减小。当Ho^(3+)和Yb^(3+)的掺杂量分别达到1%和10%(摩尔分数)时,样品出现浓度猝灭现象,其机制为电四极-电四极相互作用。泵浦功率和发光强度关系表明,样品的绿光和红光发射均源于双光子吸收过程激发。Ho^(3+)和Yb^(3+)共掺杂La_(7)P_(3)O_(18)晶体上转换发光色坐标位于橙红色区域。

文摘BACKGROUND Although immune checkpoint inhibitor(ICI)therapy has improved the prognosis of unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC),it has also resulted in unique immune-related adverse events(irAEs).The relationship between irAE and treatment outcomes in ICI-treated unresectable HCC patients remains unknown.AIM To elucidate the correlation between immune-related toxic effects and prognosis in patients with unresectable HCC treated with pembrolizumab.METHODS From March 2019 to February 2021,a total of 190 unresectable HCC(Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer C)patients receiving pembrolizumab treatment were retrospectively reviewed.Overall survival(OS)was the primary endpoint,while objective response rate(ORR),disease control rate(DCR),and time to progression(TTP)were secondary evaluation indexes.We assessed demographics,irAEs,and outcomes by retrospective review.RESULTS One hundred and forty-three males and 47 females were included in the study.The ORR and DCR were 12.1%(23/190)and 52.1%(99/190),respectively.The median OS was 376 d[95%confidence interval(CI):340-411 d]and the median TTP was 98 d(95%CI:75-124 d).The overall incidence of treatment-related adverse events was 72.6%(138/190)and 10.0%of them were severe irAEs(grade≥3).Child-Pugh B class,portal vein tumor thrombus,extrahepatic metastasis,and hypothyroidism were the independent risk factors for survival.Patients with hypothyroidism showed a longer OS[517 d(95%CI:423-562)vs 431 d(95%CI:412-485),P=0.011]and TTP[125 d(95%CI:89-154)vs 87 d(95%CI:61-98),P=0.004]than those without irAEs.CONCLUSION Pembrolizumab-treated patients with unresectable HCC who experienced hypothyroidism have promising ORR and durable response.Hypothyroidism,an irAE,may be used as a clinical evaluation parameter of response to ICIs in unresectable HCC.

文摘A cementitious material was prepared by mixing 80wt% Si-Mn slag powder, 10wt% lime, and 10wt% anhydrite. The compressive strength of mortar samples reaches 51.48 MPa after 28 d curing. The analyses of X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) show that much ettringite is formed in the sample cured for 3 d, and C-S-H gel increases rapidly during subsequent curing. Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) analysis of 29Si and 27Al and infrared spectroscopy (IR) analysis show that aluminum decomposition from tetrahedral network of the slag glass and its subsequent migration and re-combination play an important role in the process of hydration and strength development of the samples.
文摘背景与目的目前,关于我国口咽癌(oropharyngeal cancer,OPC)的发病率、死亡率和时间格局的相关数据较少。我们根据135个国内居民肿瘤登记处的数据估算了中国2008–2012年OPC的发病率、死亡率和时间格局,更清楚地了解了中国OPC的流行病学特点,为OPC的预防和控制提供更精确的信息。方法根据2008–2012年135个肿瘤登记处的OPC诊断数据,我们按照年龄、性别和地区,以2000年中国标准人口为标准估算了中国年龄标准化发病率和死亡率(age-standardized rate of incidence by Chinese standard population,ASRIC和age-standardized rate of mortality by Chinese standard population,ASRMC),以1985年Segi's世界标准人口为标准估算了世界年龄标准化发病率和死亡率(age-standardized rate of incidence byworld standard population,ASRIW和age-standardized rate of mortality by world standard population,ASRMW)。采用Joinpoint软件计算OPC发病率和死亡率的年百分比变化。结果 ASRIW和ASRMW分别为2.22/100,000人–年和0.94/100,000人–年。城市地区的发病率和死亡率高于农村地区。男性的ASRIC和ASRIW高于女性。OPC的总ASRIC从2003年到2006年每年显著提高6.2%(P=0.038),但在2007年到2012年间保持稳定(P=0.392)。在近10年,男性和农村地区的ASRIC和ASRMC显著提高(P <0.05),但同一时期女性的相关比例数据仍保持稳定(P> 0.05)。结论近10年,在中国多个肿瘤登记处OPC的发病率和死亡率显著增加,尤其是男性和农村地区,但女性的相关比例数据仍保持稳定。应倡导健康的生活方式,并加强OPC早期诊断和早期治疗措施。
文摘Objective To compare the different time of administration of hCG affecting pregnancy rate of IUI. Methods A total of 189 infertile couples underwent 331 cycles of lUI with husband's sperm. They were separated into 3 groups according to the time of hCG administration in IUI: hCG 1-23 h (group A); hCG 24-36 h (group B); hCG 37-48 h (group C). Results There were no statistical differences among 3 groups. None of the other relative factors, such as the female age, the different methods of ovulation and the cause of infertility, showed differences in pregnancy rate among 3 groups. Conclusion IUI can be performed any time after administration of hCG (1-48 h).

文摘Objective To compare the medical outcomes of infants delivered by cesarean section with those of infants delivered vaginally. Methods A total of 301 healthy women with cesarean section and a matched control group of 301 women delivered vaginally were identified at three district-level hospitals in Shanghai from May 2001 to February 2003. Two groups were matched according to their medical indications for cesarean section. Their infants were assessed at delivery, 1 month, 6 month and 1 year after birth. Results The incidence of neonatal complications and infant morbidities at all measurement occasions did not differ significantly between groups. Rehospitalization was found to be more likely among infants delivered by cesarean section in the first month after birth. However, there was no difference between two groups in the incidence of rehospitalization in the first year after birth. Cesarean section was also associated with a higher risk of infant diarrhea (adjusted relative risk=1.25, 95% CI: 1.01, 1.56). Conclusion Infants did not have health benefits from cesarean section if the pregnancy was at low risk.
文摘The patient was a 63-year-old female,who was diagnosed with advanced pancreatic cancer with mediastinal lymph node and lung metastases and pleural effusion in June 2019.First-line treatment with 6 cycles of gemcitabine plus tegafur with best response of partial response.Second-line treatment was 4 cycles of nab-paclitaxel monotherapy ended up with disease progression.Third-line treatment was sintilimab with anlotinib for 10 cycles.The patient's condition has achieved clinical complete remission so far.

文摘Regioregular poly(3-hexylthio)thiopene(P3HTT) has emerged tremendous potential in organic electronic applications due to the strong noncovalent interactions from the sulfur atom linked to thiophene. However, P3HTT generally exhibits low charge mobility mostly due to poor solution processability attributed to dense arrangement of hexylthio side chain in polymer, which led to strong noncovalent interactions among sulfur atoms. To balance the nonvalent interaction and aggregation for P3HTT, herein, we systematically study the effect of hexylthio side chain content in polymer backbone on the structure and properties. A series of regioregular P3HTT-based homopolymers(P3HTT, P3HTT-50,P3HTT-33 and P3HTT-25) were prepared via Kumada catalyst transfer polycondensation method from a set of mono-, bi-, ter-and quarterthiophenes containing different contents of hexylthio side chain. The DFT calculation shows the planarity of polymers backbone could be improved through reducing the density of hexylthio side chain in polymer mainchain. And significant changes in their crystallinity, aggregation and optical properties were observed with the content of hexylthio side chain reducing. The P3HTT-33 displayed the highest field-effect transistor hole mobility of 2.83×10^(-2) cm^(2)·V^(-1)·s^(-1) resulting from a balance between the crystallinity and planarity. This study demonstrates modulating the content of hexylthio side chain in P3HTT is an effective strategy to optimize the opto-electronic properties of polymer obtaining excellent semiconductor device performance.

文摘Supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO2) was used as a reaction medium in synthesizing amphiphilic graft copolymers composed of poly(styrene-co-maleic anhydride) (SMA) backbones and methoxyl poly(ethylene glycol) (MPEG) side chains via esterification. The synthesized copolymers were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), gel permeation chromatography (GPC), IH-NMR, thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetric analysis (DSC). The gelation phenomenon was suppressed effectively by tuning reaction conditions. The influences of scCO2 temperature and pressure on the conversion of anhydride were investigated. It was found that the highest conversion ratio occurred at 80~C under a constant pressure of 14 MPa or 26 MPa. With the increase of scCO2 pressure, the conversion ratio increased first, and then leveled off. The conversion ratio of anhydride could be controlled by regulating the reaction conditions. It was also revealed that using low molecular weight MPEG brought a high conversion ratio of anhydride.

文摘Hyperphosphorylated tau is the major protein component of neurofibrillary tangles in the brains of patients with Alzheimer’s disease(AD). However, the mechanism underlying tau hyperphosphorylation is not fully understood. Here, we demonstrated that exogenously expressed wild-type human tau40 was detectable in the phosphorylated form at multiple AD-associated sites in cytoplasmic and nuclear fractions from HEK293 cells.Among these sites, tau phosphorylated at Thr205 and Ser214 was almost exclusively found in the nuclear fraction at the conditions used in the present study. With the intracellular tau accumulation, the Ca2+concentration was significantly increased in both cytoplasmic and nuclear fractions. Further studies using site-specific mutagenesis and pharmacological treatment demonstrated that phosphorylation of tau at Thr205 increased nuclear Ca2+concentration with a simultaneous increase in the phosphorylation of Ca2+/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase IV(Ca MKIV) at Ser196. On the other hand, phosphorylation of tau at Ser214 did not significantly change the nuclear Ca2+/Ca MKIV signaling. Finally, expressing calmodulin-binding protein-4 that disrupts formation ofthe Ca2+/calmodulin complex abolished the okadaic acidinduced tau hyperphosphorylation in the nuclear fraction.We conclude that the intracellular accumulation of phosphorylated tau, as detected in the brains of AD patients, can trigger nuclear Ca2+/Ca MKIV signaling, which in turn aggravates tau hyperphosphorylation. Our findings provide new insights for tauopathies: hyperphosphorylation of intracellular tau and an increased Ca2+concentration may induce a self-perpetuating harmful loop to promote neurodegeneration.

文摘Developing a low-cost and well-recyclable adsorbent with high adsorption capacity is greatly desirable in dye wastewater treatment. Here, we demonstrate a kind of novel tough and reusable hydrogel beads with quite high capacity of dye adsorption via incorporating mussel-bioinspired poly(L-DOPA) (PDOPA) into alginate/poly(acrylamide) double network (DN) hydrogels. The synthesized PDOPA nanoaggregates were introduced into the DN hydrogels by simple one-pot mixing with the monomers prior to polymerization. The fabricated hydrogel beads exhibited high mechanical strength and good elastic recovery due to the interpenetrating Ca2+-alginate and poly(acrylamide) networks. It was shown that the beads exhibited relatively high dye adsorption capacity compared to other adsorbents reported in literature, and the introduction of PDOPA with an appropriate amount raised the adsorption capacity. It is believed that the addition of PDOPA and the matrix of double network architecture contributed synergistically to the high adsorption capacity of hydrogel beads. Moreover, the desorption of dyes could be easily realized via rinsing in acidic water and ethanol solution. The hydrogel beads remained the high adsorption capacity even after 5 times of adsorption and desorption cycles. This tough and stable hydrogel with high adsorption capacity may have potential in treatment of dye wastewater released by textile dyeing industry.

文摘Background:Thus far,the incidence,mortality,and temporal trend data of oropharyngeal cancers(OPC)in China were few.We estimated the incidence,mortality,and temporal patterns of OPC in China during 2008-2012 according to the data from 135 population-based cancer registries to better understand the epidemiological pattern of OPC and to provide more precise information for OPC control in China.Methods:According to the data of diagnosed OPC reported to 135 cancer registries during 2008-2012,we calcu-lated age-standardized rate of incidence and mortality by 2000 Chinese standard population(ASRIC and ASRMC)and by 1985 Segi’s world standard population(ASRIW and ASRMW)by age,sex,and geographic regions;annual percent-age changes of OPC incidence and mortality were calculated using Joinpoint trend analysis.Results:ASRIW and ASRMW were 2.22/100,000 person-years and 0.94/100,000 person-years,respectively.The incidence and mortality in urban areas were higher than those in rural areas.ASRIC and ASRIW of males were higher than those of females.The overall ASRIC of OPC was significantly increased by 6.2%annually between 2003 and 2006(P=0.038),but remained stable between 2007 and 2012(P=0.392).ASRIC and ASRMC of males and in rural areas were significantly increased in the last decade(P<0.05),but the rates of females remained stable during the same period(P>0.05).Conclusions:Across multiple cancer registries in China,there was an obvious increase in OPC in the recent decade,especially for incidence and mortality of males and in rural areas,whereas the rates of females remained stable.A healthy lifestyle should be advocated and early diagnosis and early treatment of OPC should be enhanced.

文摘To functionalize poly(vinyl chloride)(PVC) for various applications, monomers containing tertiary amine group are incorporated into PVC via atom transfer radical polymerization(ATRP) initiated by the labile chlorines in their backbones. The kinetics of synthesis was carefully investigated, and it is proven that the grafting polymerization process can be effectively controlled by regulating the reaction time. The membranes are fabricated using PVC and copolymers by non-solvent induced phase separation(NIPS) process. The hydrophilicity and pore structure of copolymer membranes were enhanced as well, these membranes are endowed with positive charge. When PDMA%(i.e., the PDMA weight percentage in copolymer) is 31.1%, the flux and Victoria blue B rejection are 26.0 L·m·^-2·h^-1(0.5 MPa) and 91.2%, respectively. Thus, the newly synthesized polymer is proven to be a promising material for dye separation with positive charges.

文摘The dimension reduction is helpful and often necessary in exploring the nonparametric regression structure.In this area,Sliced inverse regression (SIR) is a promising tool to estimate the central dimension reduction (CDR) space.To estimate the kernel matrix of the SIR,we herein suggest the spline approximation using the least squares regression.The heteroscedasticity can be incorporated well by introducing an appropriate weight function.The root-n asymptotic normality can be achieved for a wide range choice of knots.This is essentially analogous to the kernel estimation.Moreover, we also propose a modified Bayes information criterion (BIC) based on the eigenvalues of the SIR matrix.This modified BIC can be applied to any form of the SIR and other related methods.The methodology and some of the practical issues are illustrated through the horse mussel data.Empirical studies evidence the performance of our proposed spline approximation by comparison of the existing estimators.

文摘Synthetic polymer membranes are widely used in many applications,including,among others,water purification,protein separation,and medicine.However,the use of existing polymer membranes faces major challenges,such as the trade-off between permeability and selectivity,membrane fouling,and poor mechanical strength.To address these problems the authors have focused their research on surface/interfacial tailoring and the structure-property relationship of polymer membranes used in liquid separation systems.Progress has been made as follows:(1)a methodology for membrane surface functionalization and nanofiltration(NF)membrane preparation based on mussel-inspired catecholic chemistry was proposed and established;(2)a class of mechanically robust and environmentally-responsive composite membranes with hydrogel pore-filled in rigid macroporous supports was designed and developed;(3)a methodology for surface tailoring and antifouling modification of polymer membranes based on amphiphilic copolymers was created and the scientific implications for amphiphilic polymer membranes elaborated;(4)an adsorption membrane with both filtration and adsorption functions was designed and developed to achieve rapid removal of trace micropollutants,including heavy metal ions,organic dyes,plasticizer,antibiotics,and others.This mini-review briefly summarizes this work.
