In this paper, we utilized villared rectifier technique to harvest wireless energy to overcome previously used RF-WEH rectenna. Our design focuses mainly on a multiple-stage Villard voltage multiplier model to rectify the output voltage of the rectenna and transferred it to a dc load. As a starting point, optimization and parameter analysis offer a novel and small antenna for the 2.45 GHz ISM band that precisely matched. Moreover, the fabricated prototype has measured and simulated results have confirmed the antenna’s accuracy in the reflection coefficient. Second, a highly efficient antenna may effectively harvest the electrical energy by combining with the two-stage voltage multiplier circuit presented at the ISM band. Furthermore, the proposed rectenna has the optimum performance compared to state of art rectennas in terms of efficiency, power range, and impedance bandwidth showing pronounced achievement and increasing the DC output power significantly. The prototype is fabricated and experimentally tested to confirm the concept. Measurement results show that the proposed rectenna can be used for RF energy harvesting applications. 展开更多

The theory of microstrip antennas has motivated us to design a highly improved gain antenna under this category. It is a microstrip monopole antenna characterized by omni-directional radiation as well as a high radiation gain. A review of different methodologies to designing antennas with broad/ultra-wide band performance for various applications is enriched by our original antenna design. This is an original model analyzed over different substrate materials and finally optimized for the bandwidth of (3.3 - 5.8) GHz just below ?10 dB of return loss (RL). The antenna is judged for high gain when the ground plane size is reduced to nearly half that of substrate. The impact of the substrate materials is discussed in this article. The master design tool is Ansoft High Frequency Simulator Structure (HFSS), one of Finite Element Method (FEM) based software tools. The antenna would be printed on a 1.524 mm thick Rogers (RO3003C) substrate;overall size of 33.4 × 33.4 squared millimeters. At the optimal resonance frequency of 3.8 GHz, simulation results perfectly agree with the standards of UWB antennas, with a high radiation gain and impedance matching status. 展开更多

After reviewing a couple of literatures, the ant... A Printed monopole antenna was designed and manufactured with the wideband performances in two frequency bands. The antenna is compatible with WiMAX and WiFi standards. After reviewing a couple of literatures, the antenna was designed, analyzed and proven for two central frequencies, 2.5 GHz and 5.6 GHz, with much improved bandwidths. Finally, the antenna was manufactured with the overall size of 4 cm × 4.4 cm on Rogers (RO4003) substrate. The antenna is made into three L-shaped radiators. A 50 Ω microstrip feed line connects the port to the two L-shaped radiators of different lengths, thus providing two frequency bands. An inverted L-shaped radiator is printed on the less radiation upped side, to tune the antenna for wide band performances. The raised problem was solved with the integral equation solver of the Ansoft high frequency simulator structure (HFSS-IE). Optimal results are presented in this article: the simulation results in comparison with measured results. This antenna prototype’s overall dimensions would be readjusted according to any industrial and manufacturing requests. 展开更多

Photodynamic antibacterial therapy shows great potential in bacterial infection and the reactive oxygen species(ROS)production of the photosensitizers is crucial for the therapeutic e®ect.Introducing heavy atoms is a common strategy to enhance photodynamic performance,while dark toxicity can be induced to impede further clinical application.Herein,a novel halogen-free photosensitizer Aza-BODIPY-BODIPY dyad NDB with an orthogonal molecular conguration was synthesized for photodynamic antibacterial therapy.The absorption and emission peaks of NDB photosensitizer in toluene were observed at 703 nm and 744 nm,respectively.The°uorescence(FL)lifetime was measured to be 2.8 ns in toluene.Under 730 nm laser illumination,the ROS generation capability of NDB was 3-fold higher than that of the commercial ICG.After nanoprecipitation,NDB NPs presented the advantages of high photothermal conversion e±ciency(39.1%),good photostability,and excellent biocompatibility.More importantly,in vitro antibacterial assay conrmed that the ROS and the heat generated by NDB NPs could extirpate methicillin-resistant S.aureus e®ectively upon exposure to 730 nm laser,suggesting the potential application of NDB NPs in photo-initiated antibacterial therapy. 展开更多

Design of an 868 MHz Printed S-Shape Monopole Antenna

The purpose of this work is to design and analyze an s-shaped printed circuit board (PCB) monopole antenna. The antenna was analyzed to operate at a resonance frequency band of 868 MHz;acceptable in 915 MHz as well. The s-shape is selected due to the need of reducing the overall size of the normal monopole antenna. The printed antenna was designed with an approximate overall size of 39 × 56 mm2 of which the antenna’s upper side is 26 × 39 mm2 while its reference ground board was sized at 39 × 30 mm2. The antenna is fed by a strip line of 3 × 1.5 mm2, in series with a 4.4 pF capacitance and shunt with an 8.7 nH inductance for purpose of antenna’s impedance matching with the input. A couple of existing publications showed that PCB antenna is not a new technology;however not an old technology for telecommunication industry. The raised problem by this work was duly solved with HFSS as a tool;excellent results are presented. After duly matching the antenna’s impedance with 50 Ω microstrip feed-line, solutions for overall performance were analyzed and demonstrated optimal: radiation patterns were proven omnidirectional, antenna gain optimized. The present antenna prototype’s overall dimensions can be readjusted according to any industrial and manufacturing requests. 展开更多

High-level efficiency and safety are of great significance for improving the fighting capability of an aircraft carrier. One way to enhance efficiency and safety level is to organize the carrier aircraft into combat effectively. This paper studies the mission planning problem for a team of carrier aircraft launching, and a novel distributed mission planning architecture is proposed. The architecture is hierarchical and is comprised of four levels, namely, the input level, the coordination level,the path planning level and the execution level. Realistic constraints in each level of the distributed architecture, such as the vortex flow effect, the crowd effect and the motion of aircraft, are considered in the model. To solve this problem, a distributed path planning algorithm based on the asynchronous planning strategy is developed. The proposed Mission Planning Approach for Carrier Aircraft Launching(MPACAL) is validated using the setups of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier.Compared to the isolated planning architecture and the centralized planning architecture, the proposed distributed planning architecture has advantages in coordinating the launch tasks not only belonging to the same catapult but also when all different catapults are considered. The proposed MPACAL provides a modeling method for the flight deck operation on aircraft carrier. 展开更多

Tiltrotor aircraft have three flight modes: helicopter mode, airplane mode, and transition mode. A tiltrotor has characteristics of highly nonlinear, time-varying flight dynamics and inertial/-control couplings in its transition mode. It can transit from the helicopter mode to the airplane mode by tilting its nacelles, and an effective controller is crucial to accomplish tilting transition missions. Longitudinal dynamic characteristics of the tiltrotor are described by a nonlinear Lagrangeform model, which takes into account inertial/control couplings and aerodynamic interferences.Reference commands for airspeed velocity and attitude in the transition mode are calculated dynamically by visiting a command library which is founded in advance by analyzing the flight envelope of the tiltrotor. A Time-Varying Linear(TVL) model is obtained using a Taylorexpansion based online linearization technique from the nonlinear model. Subsequently, based on an optimal control concept, an online optimization based control method with input constraints considered is proposed. To validate the proposed control method, three typical tilting transition missions are simulated using the nonlinear model of XV-15 tiltrotor aircraft. Simulation results show that the controller can be used to control the tiltrotor throughout its operating envelop which includes a transition flight, and can also deal with vertical gust disturbances. 展开更多

For different flight phases in an overall flight mission,different control and allocation preferences should be pursued considering lift,drag or maneuverability characteristics.The multi-objective flight control allocation problem for a multi-phase flight mission is studied.For an overall flight mission,different flight phases namely climbing,cruise,maneuver and gliding phases are defined.Firstly,a multi-objective control allocation problem considering drag,lift or control energy preference is constructed.Secondly,considering different control preferences at different flight phases,the analytic hierarchical process method is used to construct a comprehensive performance index from different objectives such as lift or drag preferences.The active set based dynamic programming optimization method is used to solve the real-time optimization problem.For the validation,the Innovative Control Effector(ICE)tailless aircraft nonlinear model and the angular acceleration measurements based adaptive Incremental Backstepping(IBKS)are used to construct the validation platform.Finally,an overall flight mission is simulated to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed multi-phase and multi-objective flight control allocation method.The results show that the comprehensive performance index for different phases,which are determined from the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP)method,can suitably satisfy the preference requirements for different flight phases. 展开更多

Liquid crystalline elastomers(LCEs)have been utilized as an important class of smart actuator materials.However,the modest actuation mechanical and robustness performances remain a challenge.Inspired by the specific structures,well mechanical properties and physico-chemical characteristics of some natural plant fibers,a composite of thiol-acrylate main-chain LCE matrix incorporated with catkin fibers is designed and developed.The catkin fibers build a network as reinforcement phase,and demon-strate effective compatibility and integration property with the matrix,their high flexibility can be adapted to the large deforma-tional performance of LCE matrix.The prepared LCE composite demonstrates strong mechanical actuation properties.The mod-ulus and driving force triggered by the stimuli are obviously increased.The tensile strength and fatigue failure resistant prop-erty under high loadings and repeated cycles of thermal actua-tion or photothermal actuation are greatly enhanced.While the stimulus response deformation rate,phase transition temperature and liquid crystal phase structure of the LCE matrix,and so on,do not weaken or change.This work promotes the LCE materi-als’application potential and broadens the application value of natural plant fibers. 展开更多

However, the RBPF is just a specific method in the class of Rao-Blackwellized Filtering (RBF). This paper analyzes the recursive structure of the RBF from a more gen- eral perspective. The research starts from a general system model and studies the interconnected relation- ships between the two subspaces during the iterations. The results illustrate the working mechanisms of the RBF with an extensible framework for easily building Rao-Blackwellized algorithms with common nonlinear filters. Several examples are given to illustrate how to build new filters using this framework. 展开更多
