Basic helix–loop–helix(bHLH)proteins play pivotal roles in plant growth,development,and stress responses.However,the molecular and functional properties of bHLHs have not been fully characterized.In this study,a nov...Basic helix–loop–helix(bHLH)proteins play pivotal roles in plant growth,development,and stress responses.However,the molecular and functional properties of bHLHs have not been fully characterized.In this study,a novel XI subgroup of the bHLH protein gene RcbHLH59 was isolated and identified in rose(Rosa sp.).This gene was induced by salinity stress in both rose leaves and roots,and functioned as a transactivator.Accordingly,silencing RcbHLH59 affected the antioxidant system,^(Na+/K+)balance,and photosynthetic system,thereby reducing salt tolerance,while the transient overexpression of RcbHLH59 improved salinity stress tolerance.Additionally,RcbLHLH59 was found to regulate the expression of sets of pathogenesis-related(PR)genes in RcbHLH59-silenced(TRV-RcbHLH59)and RcbHLH59-overexpressing(RcbHLH59-OE)rose plants.The RcPR4/1 and RcPR5/1 transcript levels showed opposite changes in the TRVRcbHLH59 and RcbHLH59-OE lines,suggesting that these two genes are regulated by RcbHLH59.Further analysis revealed that RcbHLH59 binds to the promoters of RcPR4/1 and RcPR5/1,and that the silencing of RcPR4/1 or RcPR5/1 led to decreased tolerance to salinity stress.Moreover,callose degradation-and deposition-related genes were impaired in RcPR4/1-or RcPR5/1-silenced plants,which displayed a salt tolerance phenotype by balancing the ^(Na+/K+)ratio through callose deposition.Collectively,our data highlight a new RcbLHLH59-RcPRs module that positively regulates salinity stress tolerance by balancing Na^(+)/K^(+)and through callose deposition in rose plants.展开更多
Under the traditional dynamic model,the conventional method for solving the rotation angle of a rigid body is to use the fixed-axis rotation law of the rigid body,but the known rotation shaft position must be used as ...Under the traditional dynamic model,the conventional method for solving the rotation angle of a rigid body is to use the fixed-axis rotation law of the rigid body,but the known rotation shaft position must be used as a prerequisite.In practical work,for the rotation of a rigid body under multiple forces,solving the shaft is often a difficult problem.In this paper,we consider the rigid body of the disc is subjected to the force of uneven magnitude from multiple angles,the position of the rotating shaft is obtained by iterative inversion through the rigid body rotation law and the dichotomy method.After the position of the shaft is determined,we establish a differential equation model based on the law of rigid body rotation,the rotation angle of the rigid body thus being solved based on this model.Furthermore,an optimization algorithm such as genetic algorithm is used to search for a correction scheme to return the rigid body to equilibrium at any given deflection angle.The model and method are based on computer to explore the law of rotation,the practical application of them play an important role in studying the concentric drum movement and the balance of handling furniture.展开更多
BACKGROUND Postpolypectomy syndrome(PPS)is a rare postoperative complication of colonic polypectomy.It presents with abdominal pain and fever accompanied by coagulopathy and elevated inflammatory markers.Its prognosis...BACKGROUND Postpolypectomy syndrome(PPS)is a rare postoperative complication of colonic polypectomy.It presents with abdominal pain and fever accompanied by coagulopathy and elevated inflammatory markers.Its prognosis is usually good,and it only requires outpatient treatment or observation in a general ward.How-ever,it can be life-threatening.CASE SUMMARY The patient was a 58-year-old man who underwent two colonic polypectomies,each resulting in life-threatening sepsis,septic shock,and coagulopathy.Each of the notable manifestations was a rapid drop in blood pressure,an increase in heart rate,loss of consciousness,and heavy sweating,accompanied by shortness of breath and decreased oxygen in the finger pulse.Based on the criteria of organ dysfunction due to infection,we diagnosed him with sepsis.The patient also experienced severe gastrointestinal bleeding after the second operation.Curiously,he did not complain of any abdominal pain throughout the course of the illness.He had significantly elevated concentrations of inflammatory markers and coagulopathy.Except for the absence of abdominal pain,his fever,significant coagulopathy,and elevated inflammatory marker concentrations were all consistent with PPS.Abdominal computed tomography and superior mesenteric artery computed tomography angiography showed no free air or vascular damage.Thus,the diagnosis of colon perforation was not considered.The final blood culture results indicated Moraxella osloensis.The patient was transferred to the intensive care unit and quickly improved after fluid resuscitation,antibiotic treatment,oxygen therapy,and blood transfusion.CONCLUSION PPS may induce dysregulation of the systemic inflammatory response,which can lead to sepsis or septic shock,even in the absence of abdominal pain.展开更多
Aim:To evaluate the diagnosis and treatment strategies for the iliac vein compression syndrome(IVCS) and the factors that affect the treatment outcome.Methods:In total,69 patients with IVCS were enrolled in the study....Aim:To evaluate the diagnosis and treatment strategies for the iliac vein compression syndrome(IVCS) and the factors that affect the treatment outcome.Methods:In total,69 patients with IVCS were enrolled in the study.The patients underwent computed tomography(CT) venography before treatment.CT observations included assessment of the iliac venous channel sagittal diameter(IVCD) before the lower lumbar vertebra,causes of oppression,thrombus density,and embolization range.The patients with IVCS were divided into the simple IVCS(s IVCS,n=22),lumbar degeneration-related type IVCS(d IVCS,n=33),and IVCS of other causes(o IVCS,n=14) including lumbar fracture,hematoma of infection,and abscess wraping around and compressing the iliac vein,groups.The treatment methods included target venous catheter-directed thrombolysis(CDT),a mechanical breaking and sucking treatment for the thrombi,followed by balloon dilatation and iliac vein stent implantation.The factors that may possibly affect the treatment outcomes included IVCS type,duration of disease,thrombus hardness,embolization length,and treatment regimen.Logistic regression was used to analyze the factors that affected the therapeutic efficacy.Results:At the first stage,CDT was only effective in 15 cases(5 d IVCSs and 10 o IVCSs) and was ineffective in the remaining 54 cases,which required further mechanical breaking and sucking of the thrombi and intravenous balloon dilatation.In the second stage,combination of thrombi breaking and suction and balloon dilatation was preliminarily effective in 26 cases(6 s IVCSs,16 d IVCSs and 4 o IVCSs),but during follow-up from 1 to 6 months,treatment was considered futile for 9 recurrent cases(3 s IVCSs and 6 d IVCSs).So,28 cases of preliminary ineffective treatment and 9 relapse in the second stage were arranged to the third stage of treatment by iliac vein stent implantation.All 37 cases were treated effectively and achieved a satisfactory iliac vein patency,and were followed-up for 24 months without recurrence.Logistic regression analysis showed that IVCS type(β=4.14;Wald test,P < 0.01),duration of illness(β=-5.33;Wald test,P=0.02),thrombus density(β=-6.46;Wald test,P=0.01),embolization length(β=2.74;Wald test,P=0.03),and treatment regimens(β=11.92;Wald test,P=0.01) all had a significant effect on the treatment outcomes.Conclusion:The selection of a suitable intervention treatment regimen for different types of IVCS may aid in improving the curative effect.展开更多

The microstructural and functional changes in the brain associated with concussion, as well as the relationship with transient cognitive disorders, are currently unclear. In the present study, a rabbit model of simple concussion was established. Magnetic resonance-diffusion tensor imaging results revealed that the corona radiata and midbrain exhibited significantly decreased fractional anisotropy values in the neural pathways associated with memory and the reticular formation. In addition, the apparent diffusion coefficient values were significantly increased following injury compared with those before injury. Following a 1-hour period of quiet rest, the fractional anisotropy values significantly increased, and apparent diffusion coefficient values significantly decreased, returning to normal pre-injury levels. In contrast, the fractional anisotropy values and apparent diffusion coefficient values in the corpus callosum, thalamus and hippocampus showed no statistical significant alterations following injury. These findings indicate that the neural pathways associated with memory and the reticular formation pathway exhibit reversible microstructural white matter changes when concussion occurs, and these changes are exhibited to a different extent in different regions.展开更多

Experimental findings showed that brain N-acetyl aspartate and choline peak values significantly decreased, while creatine peak values significantly increased following simple concussion. Following treatments, N-acetyl aspartate and choline peaks returned to normal levels in the quiet rest and hyperbaric oxygen therapy groups, but no changes were observed in the interference stimulation group. Results demonstrated abnormal changes in the brain biochemical metabolism environment following simple concussion. Photodynamic therapy(PDT)is an effective treatment method for tumors.But the specifically accumulated of photosensitizer was very difficult in the tumor site,which greatly limited the efficacy of PDT.Here,mitochondria...Photodynamic therapy(PDT)is an effective treatment method for tumors.But the specifically accumulated of photosensitizer was very difficult in the tumor site,which greatly limited the efficacy of PDT.Here,mitochondria-targeted Janus mesoporous nanoplatform(JPMO-Pt-CTPP-ZnPc)for PDT was prepared,the nanoplatform has uniform size(275 nm)and good dispersion and biocompatibility.The confocal laser scanning microscopy(CLSM)revealed the signal of ZnPc of JPMO-Pt-CTPP-ZnPc were higher than JPMO-Pt-ZnPc in tumor cells,and flow cytometry results showed the cell uptake efficiency of JPMO-Pt-CTPP-ZnPc was 2.5-fold higher than that of JPMO-Pt-ZnPc.This revealed the modification of CTPP significantly improves the targeting ability of the nanoplatform.In vitro anti-tumor experiment showed the JPMO-Pt-CTPP-ZnPc significantly inhibited the growth of tumor cells upon the irradiation of low-power laser,and the survival rate of cells incubated with 60μg/mL JPMO-Pt-CTPP-ZnPc was only 3%.Simultaneously,compared with JPMO-Pt-ZnPc(not modified with mitochondria targeting molecules CTPP),the PDT efficacy of JPMO-Pt-CTPP-ZnPc was significantly better,as it has targeted mitochondria in cells.展开更多
The central and western Tibetan Plateau(CWTP)is characterized by harsh environment and strong interactions among the spheres of earth as well as significant changes in climate and water cycles over the past four decad...The central and western Tibetan Plateau(CWTP)is characterized by harsh environment and strong interactions among the spheres of earth as well as significant changes in climate and water cycles over the past four decades.The lack of precipitation observations is a bottleneck for the study of land surface processes in this region.Over the past six years,we have designed and established two observation transects across the south-north and the west-east in this region to obtain hourly rainfall data during the warm season(May-September).The south-north transect extends from Yadong Valley on the southern slope of the Himalayas to Shuanghu County in the hinterland of the plateau,with a total of 31stations;the west-east transect extends from Shiquanhe in the west to Naqu in the central TP,with a total of 22 stations.The observation dataset has been applied to clarify the spatiotemporal characteristics of precipitation in the CWTP,to evaluate the quality of typical gridded precipitation products,to support the development of regional climate models,and to reveal the processes of summertime lake-air interactions.The observation dataset has been released in the National Tibetan Plateau Data Center.展开更多
Sexual lifestyles are closely related to overall human health and well-being.Few studies have focused on sexual lifestyles among older adults living with HIV(OALHIV),especially in low-and middle-income countries.This ...Sexual lifestyles are closely related to overall human health and well-being.Few studies have focused on sexual lifestyles among older adults living with HIV(OALHIV),especially in low-and middle-income countries.This study is a part of the sexual well-being among older adults in China(SWELL)study,which is a multicenter cross-sectional study focused on sexual health among older adults aged 50 years and older.Participants were 680 OALHIV(≥50 years old)from the SWELL study conducted from June 2020 to December 2022.Data were collected through one-on-one interviews.We used logistic regression to assess the correlates of sexual activity and sexual satis-faction.Among all participants,37.1%were sexually active.Being older,male,in a steady relationship and employed were associated with being sexually active.The prevalence of sexual satisfaction was 69.8%among sexually active OALHIV.Being homosexual and reporting a better general health status were associated with sexual satisfaction.The OALHIV who have depressive symptoms were less likely to report sexual satisfaction.To support holistic healthy aging among OALHIV,it is important for healthcare providers to be educated about the importance of enquiring about sexual activity,satisfaction and problems and addressing concerns while conveying sex-positive attitudes during clinical reviews,as these are still critical aspects of their health and well-being.展开更多

文摘Sexual lifestyles are closely related to overall human health and well-being.Few studies have focused on sexual lifestyles among older adults living with HIV(OALHIV),especially in low-and middle-income countries.This study is a part of the sexual well-being among older adults in China(SWELL)study,which is a multicenter cross-sectional study focused on sexual health among older adults aged 50 years and older.Participants were 680 OALHIV(≥50 years old)from the SWELL study conducted from June 2020 to December 2022.Data were collected through one-on-one interviews.We used logistic regression to assess the correlates of sexual activity and sexual satis-faction.Among all participants,37.1%were sexually active.Being older,male,in a steady relationship and employed were associated with being sexually active.The prevalence of sexual satisfaction was 69.8%among sexually active OALHIV.Being homosexual and reporting a better general health status were associated with sexual satisfaction.The OALHIV who have depressive symptoms were less likely to report sexual satisfaction.To support holistic healthy aging among OALHIV,it is important for healthcare providers to be educated about the importance of enquiring about sexual activity,satisfaction and problems and addressing concerns while conveying sex-positive attitudes during clinical reviews,as these are still critical aspects of their health and well-being.
