Specimens of L. japonicus were collected from the laboratory culture of Athetis lepigone Moschler (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) in Shandong Agricultural University and deposited in the Laboratory of Systematic and Applied Acarology, Shandong Agricultural University (SDAU). L. japonicus has shown promise of being a biological control agent of Bradysia odoriphaga in laborat ory observations. A key to the females of Lasioseius species from China is provided.展开更多
Filtering capacitor with compact configuration and a wide range of operating voltage has been attracting increasing attention for the smooth conversion of the electric signal in modern circuits.Lossless integration of...Filtering capacitor with compact configuration and a wide range of operating voltage has been attracting increasing attention for the smooth conversion of the electric signal in modern circuits.Lossless integration of capacitor units can be regarded as one of the efficient ways to achieve a wider voltage range,which has not yet been fully conquered due to the lack of rational designs of the electrode structure and integration technology.This study presents an alternatingly stacked assemble technology to conveniently fabricate compact aqueous hybrid integrated filtering capacitors on a large scale,in which a unit consists of rGO/MXene composite film as a negative electrode and PEDOT:PSS based film as a positive electrode.Benefiting from the synergistic effect of rGO and MXene components,and morphological characteristics of PEDOT:PSS,the capacitor unit exhibits outstanding AC line filtering with a large areal specific energy density of 1,015 μF V^(2)cm^(-2)(0.28 μW h cm^(-2)) at 120 Hz.After rational integration,the assembled capacitors present compact/lightweight configuration and lossless frequency response,as reflected by almost constant resistor-capacitor time constant of 0.2 ms and dissipation factor of 15% at120 Hz,identical to those of the single capacitor unit.Apart from standing alone steadily on a flower,a small volume(only 8.1 cm^(3)) of the integrated capacitor with 70 units connected in series achieves hundred-volts alternating current line filtering,which is superior to most reported filtering capacitors with sandwich configuration.This study provides insight into the fabrication and application of compact/ultralight filtering capacitors with lossless frequency response,and a wide range of operating voltage.展开更多

Strong seed vigor in low-temperature germi...Seed vigor is an index of seed quality that is used to describe the rapid and uniform germination and the establish- ment of strong seedlings in any environmental conditions. Strong seed vigor in low-temperature germination conditions is particularly important in direct-sowing rice production systems. However, seed vigor has not been selected as an important breeding trait in traditional breeding programs due to its quantitative inherence. In this study, we identified and mapped eight quantitative trait loci (QTLs) for seed vigor by using a recombinant inbred population from a cross between rice (Oryza sativa L. ssp. indica) cultivars ZS97 and MH63. Conditional QTL analysis identified qSV-1, qSV-Sb, qSV-6a, qSV- 6b, and qSV-11 influenced seedling establishment and that qSV- 5a, qSV-Sc, and qSV-8 influenced only germination. Of these, qSV-1, qSV-Sb, qSV-6a, qSV-6b, and qSV-8 were low-tempera- ture-specific QTLs. Two major-effective QTLs, qSV-1, and qSV-5cwere narrowed down to 1.13-Mbp and 4oo-kbp genomic regions, respectively. The results provide tightly linked DNA markers for the marker-assistant pyramiding of multiple positive alleles for increased low-temperature germination seed vigor in both normal and environments.展开更多
Expanding the application scenarios of wood-derived biochar guided by the conversion of traditional energy to new energy shows great promise as a field.As thrilling energy conversion apparatus,zinc-air batteries(ZABs)...Expanding the application scenarios of wood-derived biochar guided by the conversion of traditional energy to new energy shows great promise as a field.As thrilling energy conversion apparatus,zinc-air batteries(ZABs)require cathode catalysts with high oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER)activities and stability.Herein,two-dimensional nickel-iron hydroxide nanosheets were creatively assembled in N-doped wood-derived biochar(NiFe-LDH@NC)by an in-situ growth method.The categorized porous organization in wood-derived biochar facilitates the rapid seepage of electrolytes and rapid diffusion of reaction gases.The unique interfacial structure of biochar and NiFe-LDH accelerates electron transfer during oxygen electrocatalysis,and endows NiFe-LDH@NC with first-class catalytic activity and durability for ORR and OER.The ZAB derived from NiFe-LDH@NC showed elevated discharge productivity and cycle endurance,making it promising for viable applications.This work provided a convenient way for the conversion of wood-derived biochar to high-value added electrocatalysts.展开更多

To the Editor:Corneal alkali burns(CABs)have been a difficult problem in clinical treatment for a long time.In severe cases,blindness occurs;hence,research on the repair mechanism underlying corneal injury is particul...To the Editor:Corneal alkali burns(CABs)have been a difficult problem in clinical treatment for a long time.In severe cases,blindness occurs;hence,research on the repair mechanism underlying corneal injury is particularly important to identify potential therapeutic targets.Alkali-induced corneal injuries often trigger aggressive aseptic inflammatory responses,which are key to autoimmune responses.[1]However,Nod-like receptor protein 3(NLRP3)inflammasomes play an important role in aseptic inflammation.[2]Under stimuli,such as infection or stress,the activated NLRP3 inflammasome not only processes procaspase-1 into mature caspase-1 but also further promotes the maturation and release of interleukin(IL)-1βand IL-18.[3]Taurine(Tau)is widely distributed in ocular structures and is an immune regulator.Tau can maintain the stability of the corneal epithelium and improve the survival rate of corneal epithelial cells through antioxidant effects.[4]The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of Tau eye drops on CAB and elucidate the mechanism underlying corneal inflammatory responses.展开更多
