The authors define the vulnerability of an oasis social-ecological system to glacier change; select 16 indicators from natural and socioeconomic systems according to exposure, sensitivity, and adaptive capacity; and construct a vulnerability-assessment indicator system aimed at an inland river basin in the arid region of Northwestern China. Vulnerability of the oasis socialecological system affected by glacier change in the study area is evaluated by Spatial Principal Component Analysis(SPCA) under the circumstance of glacier change. The key factors affecting the vulnerability are analyzed. The vulnerability of the oasis social-ecological system in the Hexi Inland River Basin affected by glacier change is of more than medium grade, accounting for about 48.0% of the total number of counties in the study area. In terms of the spatial pattern of the vulnerability, the oasis economic belt is the most vulnerable. With the rapid development of the area's society and economy, the exposure of the system to glacial changes is significantly increased; and an increase in glacial meltwater is not enough to overcome the impact of increased exposure, which is the main reason for the high vulnerability. Based on the result of the vulnerability analysis and combined with the present industrial structure in the Hexi Inland River Basin, near-,medium-, and long-term adaptation initiatives are put forward in the article.展开更多

The aim of this study was to evaluate the feasibility of18F-fludeoxyglucose(18F-FDG) and 3’-deoxy-3’-18F-fluorothymidine(18F-FLT) PET in predicting tumor biological characteristics of colorectal cancer liver metastasis. Methods: The uptake rate of18F-FDG and18F-FLT in SW480 and SW620 cells was measured via an in vitro cell uptake assay. The region of interest was drawn over the tumor and liver to calculate the maximum standardized uptake value ratio(tumor/liver) from PET images in liver metastasis model. The correlation between tracer uptake in liver metastases and VEGF, Ki67 and CD44 expression was evaluated by linear regression. Results: Compared to SW620 tumor-bearing mice, SW480 tumor-bearing mice presented a higher rate of liver metastases. The uptake rate of18F-FDG in SW480 and SW620 cells was 6.07% ± 1.19% and2.82% ± 0.15%, respectively(t = 4.69, P = 0.04); that of18F-FLT was 24.81% ± 0.45% and 15.57% ± 0.66%, respectively(t = 19.99, P < 0.001). Micro-PET scan showed that all parameters of FLT were significantly higher in SW480 tumors than those in SW620 tumors. A moderate relationship was detected between metastases in the liver and18F-FLT uptake in primary tumors(r = 0.73, P = 0.0019).18F-FLT uptake was also positively correlated with the expression of CD44 in liver metastases(r = 0.81, P = 0.0049).Conclusions: The uptake of18F-FLT in metastatic tumor reflects different biological behaviors of colon cancer cells.18F-FLT can be used to evaluate the metastatic potential of colorectal cancer in nude mice.展开更多

Methods:The expression of HER-2 gene in the 223 samples with colon can-cer was detected by immunochemical approach. The expression of HER-2 gene in colon cancer tissues and adjacent tissues and dif erent pathologic types was analyzed byχ2 test. The correlation between the expression of HER-2 gene and clinical features was analyzed by Spearman. Results:The number of positive expression of HER-2 gene in colon cancer tissues and adjacent tissues were 74 and 0 respectively, the dif erence has statistical significance. The number of papil ary or tubular adenocarcinoma was 182, among them, 60 cases were positive expression. The number of mucinous adenocarcinoma was 41, among them, 14 cases were positive expression. The expression of HER-2/neu gene has no correlation with sex, age, the maximum diameter, general classification, degree of dif erentiation and depth of invasion, which has no statistical significance. However, the expression of HER-2/neu gene has correlation with metastasis of lymph node and Dukes stage, which has statistical significance. The expression of HER-2/neu gene was positive correlation with metastasis of lymph node and Dukes stage. The correlated coef icient index was 0.320 and 0.320 respectively. In the 74 patients with positive expression of HER-2 gene, 59.4%of them were 60-74 years old. And there was 97.3%of the patients without family history of adenocarcinoma. Conclusion:The expression of HER-2/neu gene in colon cancer tissues was higher than in adjacent tissues. The expression of HER-2/neu gene has no correlation with sex, age, the maximum diameter, general classification, degree of dif erentiation and depth of invasion, but has correlation with metastasis of lymph node and Dukes stage. The expression of HER-2/neu gene was positive correlation with metastasis of lymph node and Dukes stage. The expression of HER-2/neu gene with age of 60-74 years old and without family history of adenocarcinoma was higher than other groups.展开更多

In superconducting DSMs, the effects of their nontrivial topology on superconducting pairing could realize topological superconductivity in the bulk or on the surface. As superconducting pairing takes place at the Fermi level E_F, to make the effects possible, the Dirac points should lie in the vicinity of E_F so that the topological electronic states can participate in the superconducting paring. Here,we show using angle-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy that in a series of(Ir_(1-x)Pt_x)Te_2 compounds, the type-Ⅱ Dirac points reside around E_F in the superconducting region, in which the bulk superconductivity has a maximum T_c of ~ 3 K.The realization of the coexistence of bulk superconductivity and low-energy Dirac fermions in(Ir_(1-x)Pt_x)Te_2 paves the way for studying the effects of the nontrivial topology in DSMs on the superconducting state.展开更多

However, the possible effect of rh-Endostatin in reversing DDP-resistance in A549/DDP cells and the mechanism are needed to be investigated. Methods: Lung adenocarcinoma cell line A549 and its DDP-resistant cell line A549/DDP were treated with DDP and/or recombinant human Endostatin. Difference in drug resistance was analyzed between different regi- mens and between different cell lines after a 72 h-treatment in vitro. And below the non-cytotoxic concentration of rh-End- ostatin, the possibility of rh-Endostatin in reversing DDP-resistance in A549/DDP was evaluated. The resistance protein which was detected in the study included P glycoprotein (P-gp) and topoisomerase II (Topo-II). Results: Rh-Endostatin below 400 IJg/mL showed no cytotoxicity in either A549 or A549/DDP after 72 h-treatment with it. The inhibited concentration of 50% (IC50) observed for DDP was (0.79 _+ 0.05) IJg/mL in A549 and (13.2 + 1.1) in A549/DDP respectively. IC50 was reduced to 2.57 + 0.05 #g/mL in A549/DDP treated by rh-Endostatin below the non-cytotoxic concentrations in combination with DDP, with a reversal fold (RF) of 5.14 and a relative reversal rate of 85.6%. Apoptotic rates were 2.01%, 13.47% and 29.26% re- spectively for cells treated with rh-Endostain, DDP, and the combination. The rate of the A549/DDP control group was 0.99%. The expression level of P-gp or Topo-II was higher in A549/DDP cells than in A549 cells. Rh-Endostatin may partially reverse DDP-resistance in A549/DDP cells in vitro, with a probable mechanism related to lowering expression of P-gp and Topo-II. Conclusien: Rh-Endostatin of non-cytotoxic dose partially reversed cisptatin resistance in cisplatin-resistant human lung adenocarcinoma cell line A549/DDP. Rh-Endostatin reversed the resistance of A549/DDP cells to DDP, which may be related to decreased protein expression of P-gp and Topo-II in A549/DDP cells.展开更多

文摘We investigate the electronic structure of NbGeSb with non-symmorphic symmetry. We employ angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy(ARPES)to observe and identify the bulk and surface states over the Brillouin zone.By utilizing high-energy photons,we identify the bulk Fermi surface and bulk nodal line along the direction X–R,while the Fermi surface of the surface state is observed by using low-energy photons. We observe the splitting of surface bands away from the high-symmetry point X.The density functional theory calculations on bulk and 1 to 5-layer slab models,as well as spin textures of NbGeSb,verify that the band splitting could be attributed to the Rashba-like spin–orbit coupling caused by space-inversion-symmetry breaking at the surface. These splitted surface bands cross with each other, forming two-dimensional Weyl-like crossings that are protected by mirror symmetry. Our findings provide insights into the two-dimensional topological and symmetry-protected band inversion of surface states.

文摘Sepsis is a life-threatening inflammatory syndrome with high morbidity and mortality rates. However, options for sepsis are still limited to general treatment in intensive care units(ICUs),and effective therapies that improve sepsis survival are required.Immune disturbances play a vital role in the pathology of sepsis and are associated with protracted inflammation, susceptibility to infections, and death. Therefore, many investigators have focused on the potential benefits of immunomodulation therapy for sepsis.Electroacupuncture(EA)has been practiced in clinics for many years and has shown advantages in treating infectious diseases.Over the last few decades, our understanding of the efficacy and mechanisms of EA in sepsis has undergone considerable developments. We searched the literature regarding“CNKI,Wan Fang Data,VIP Database,PubMed,and Ingenta Connect”from 2010 to 2023,using the keywords“sepsis”“septic”and“electroacupuncture”and 336 sources were searched. Finally,we included 82 studies that targeted the immune system to determine EA’s anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects on sepsis. In this review,we found that EA has clinical benefits in relieving septic inflammation, improving immune function, and attenuating related multi-organ injury through several mechanisms, such as activation of the cholinergic anti-inflammatory pathway(CAP),vagaladrenal axis, inhibition of the nuclear factor Kappa-B(NF-κB)signaling pathway, signal transducers and activators of transcription(STAT)signaling pathway, and improvement of immune cell function. Therefore,EA may be a promising complementary therapy for sepsis treatment. We also expect these data will contribute to further studies on EA in sepsis.

文摘A novel low-cost Mg-Al-Ca-Zn-Mn-based alloy was developed to simultaneously improve its strength and ductility. The high yield strength of 411 MPa and the high elongation to failure of~8.9%have been achieved in the as-extruded Mg-1.3Al-1.2Ca-0.5Zn-0.6Mn(wt%)sample.Microstructure characterizations showed that the high strength is mainly associated with the ultra-fined dynamically recrystallized(DRXed)grains.Moreover,high-density dislocations in the un-DRXed region and nano-precipitates are distributed among theα-Mg matrix. The high ductility property can be ascribed to the high volume fraction of DRXed grains with a much randomized texture,as well as the formations of high-density subgrains in the un-DRXed grain regions.

文摘Rosmarinic acid,a common ester extracted from Rosemary,Perilla frutescens, and Salvia miltiorrhiza Bunge, has been shown to have protective effects against various diseases. This is an investigation into whether rosmarinic acid can also affect the changes of white matter fibers and cognitive deficits caused by hypoxic injury. The right common carotid artery of 3-day-old rats was ligated for 2 hours. The rats were then prewarmed in a plastic container with holes in the lid, which was placed in 37°C water bath for 30 minutes.Afterwards, the rats were exposed to an atmosphere with 8% O2 and 92% N2 for 30 minutes to establish the perinatal hypoxia/ischemia injury models. The rat models were intraperitoneally injected with rosmarinic acid 20 mg/kg for 5 consecutive days.At 22 days after birth, rosmarinic acid was found to improve motor, anxiety, learning and spatial memory impairments induced by hypoxia/ischemia injury.Furthermore, rosmarinic acid promoted the proliferation of oligodendrocyte progenitor cells in the subventricular zone. After hypoxia/ischemia injury, rosmarinic acid reversed to some extent the downregulation of myelin basic protein and the loss of myelin sheath in the corpus callosum of white matter structure.Rosmarinic acid partially slowed down the expression of oligodendrocyte marker Olig2 and myelin basic protein and the increase of oligodendrocyte apoptosis marker inhibitors of DNA binding 2.These data indicate that rosmarinic acid ameliorated the cognitive dysfunction after perinatal hypoxia/ischemia injury by improving remyelination in corpus callosum. This study was approved by the Animal Experimental Ethics Committee of Xuzhou Medical University,China (approval No.20161636721) on September 16,2017.

文摘The Hexi Inland River Basin in an arid region of northwestern China was chosen as the study area for this research. Based on the result of the vulnerability analysis and combined with the present industrial structure in the Hexi Inland River Basin, near-,medium-, and long-term adaptation initiatives are put forward in the article.
文摘BACKGROUND Anesthesia plays an essential role in the successful surgical procedures for hand trauma.Compared with general anesthesia, brachial plexus block shows lots of benefits for the upper extremity.Specifically,ultrasound-guided selective proximal and distal brachial plexus block may overcome the issues of incomplete block and failure of anesthesia in such circumstances. The present study assessed the efficacy of ultrasound-guided selective proximal and distal brachial plexus block in clinical practice.AIM To explore the efficacy of ultrasound-guided selective proximal and distal brachial plexus block in rapid recovery surgery for hand trauma.METHODS A total of 68 patients with traumatic hand injuries treated at our hospital from January 2018 to June 2019 were selected. They were divided into an observation group and a control group with 34 patients in each group. The observation group underwent selective brachial plexus block guided by ultrasound and the control group underwent conventional brachial plexus block. The analgesic efficacy, intraoperative complications, wound healing time, and length of hospital stay were compared between the two groups under different anesthesia.RESULTS The percentage of cases with analgesia graded as“excellent or very good”was higher in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.05).Moreover,the incidence of intraoperative complications was lower and the wound healing time and length of hospital stay were shorter in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Ultrasound-guided selective proximal and distal brachial plexus block has remarkable analgesic efficacy in patients with traumatic hand injuries. It can reduce the incidence of intraoperative complications, promote wound healing, and shorten the length of hospital stay.

文摘Background: Positron emission tomography(PET) is a noninvasive method to characterize different metabolic activities of tumors, providing information for staging, prognosis, and therapeutic response of patients with cancer. A moderate relationship was detected between metastases in the liver and18F-FLT uptake in primary tumors(r = 0.73, P = 0.0019).18F-FLT uptake was also positively correlated with the expression of CD44 in liver metastases(r = 0.81, P = 0.0049).Conclusions: The uptake of18F-FLT in metastatic tumor reflects different biological behaviors of colon cancer cells.18F-FLT can be used to evaluate the metastatic potential of colorectal cancer in nude mice.

文摘Metastasis is closely related to the high mortality of cancer patients, which is regulated by multiple signaling pathways.Hence, multiphase blocking of this biological process is beneficial for cancer treatments.Herein,we establish a multifunctional self-delivering system by synthesizing D-α-tocopheryl succinates(TOS)-conjugated chondroitin sulfate(CS)(CT NPs),which both serve as nanocarrier and antimetastatic agent that affects different phases of the metastatic cascade.TOS as the hydrophobic segment of CT NPs can inhibit the secretion of matrix metalloproteinase-9,while the hydrophilic segment CS targets B16F10 cells through CD44 receptors and reduces the interaction between tumor cells and platelets. The results show that CT NPs are able to inhibit metastasis successfully both in vitro and in vivo by interfering the multiphase of the metastatic cascade.Following encapsulating chemotherapeutic drug doxorubicin(DOX),the obtained micelles CT/DOX efficiently suppress both primary-tumor growth and metastases in B16F10 bearing mice.As a result, the rationally designed multifunctional NPs composing of biocompatible materials provide excellent therapeutic effects on solid tumors and metastases。

文摘Topological Dirac semimetals(DSMs) present a kind of topologically nontrivial quantum state of matter, which has massless Dirac fermions in the bulk and topologically protected states on certain surfaces. Here,we show using angle-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy that in a series of(Ir_(1-x)Pt_x)Te_2 compounds, the type-Ⅱ Dirac points reside around E_F in the superconducting region, in which the bulk superconductivity has a maximum T_c of ~ 3 K.The realization of the coexistence of bulk superconductivity and low-energy Dirac fermions in(Ir_(1-x)Pt_x)Te_2 paves the way for studying the effects of the nontrivial topology in DSMs on the superconducting state.

文摘Objective: Recombinant human Endostatin (rh-Endostatin, YH-16) can reverse cisplatin resistance in A549/DDP cells. Rh-Endostatin reversed the resistance of A549/DDP cells to DDP, which may be related to decreased protein expression of P-gp and Topo-II in A549/DDP cells.
