There are multiple dsk factors that contribute to hypercoagulability in cancer patients. Hormonal therapy and chemotherapy are the main one. Type and stage of malignancy are other dsk factors; so age, immobility and surgery are. The main antineoplastic therapy with definitive hypercoagulable effect is tamoxifen, because it can cause reduction in the concentrations of antithrombin III and protein C. Here, we explain the case of a 75-year-old postmenopausal woman presenting with breast carcinoma who suffered from pulmonary thromboembolism during the treatment with anastrozole although she was taking nadropadn.展开更多
