Dear Editor,Ovarian cancer remains the deadliest among all gynecological cancers.Although most patients at advanced stage respond to initial treatment, the majority experience recurrence[1].It was estimated that 55,342 new cases and 37,519 deaths from ovarian cancer occurred in China annually[2].Contemporarily,the treatment landscape has changed rapidly since the role of poly(adenosine diphosphate-ribose)polymerase inhibitors(PARPi)in ovarian cancer treatmentwas explored.Based on data from the PRIMA/ENGOT-OV26/GOG-3012[3]and ENGOTOV16/NOVA trials[4],niraparib has been approved globally as maintenance therapy for newly diagnosed and platinum-sensitive recurrent ovarian cancer. The indication of niraparib for salvage treatment was based on the results of the QUADRA(NCT02354586)trial[5].Although niraparib has been tested in prospective randomized clinical trials(RCTs),no multicenter study on its real-world application in China had been conducted.Considering the differences in population, accessibility and affordability of drugs, the results of the real-world settings may differ from those of RCTs.Therefore,we conducted this multicenter,non-interventional study at 8 hospitals. 展开更多

The brazing of diamond is a promising way to fabricate grinding wheels for efficient machining and precision grinding. This work investigated the feasibility of bonding diamond grits onto Aluminium Alloy 7075(AA7075)substrate with a Ag–Cu–Ti filler alloy via laser fusion brazing. The interfacial microstructures and the strength of the brazed diamond joints were studied. The cross-section of the brazed diamond joint consists of a molten filler alloy layer,a molten pool,a heat effect zone,a columnar crystal zone and an equiaxed crystal zone.Within the interface of the filler alloy/substrate metal, microstructures observed possibly were Ag(s.s),Al(s.s),Tix Al,Al2 Cu and Mg intermetallic compounds.A layer of Ti C with a thickness of about 30–50 nm was found at the bonding interface of the diamond/filler alloy. The averaged peak shear force of the brazed joints was found to be approximately 39.8 N.The abrasion grinding test indicated that the diamond/AA7075 brazed joint was adequate for grinding. However, the pulled-off of grit was found to be the primary failure of this type of brazed joint. This work broadened the brazing diamond technique and the range of applications of brazed diamond wheels for efficient grinding. 展开更多

We presented a novel method for the development of a latent fingerprint by selective electrodeposition of a copper thin film from sulfate solution onto the conductive substrate between fingerprint ridges to generate a negative image of the fingerprint deposit. After optimizing the parameters(deposition time, deposition potential, and copper concentration), the preferential electrodeposition of copper films allowed latent fingerprints on six kinds of conductive surfaces(indium/tin oxide-coated glass, silver sheet, platinum sheet, gold sheet, copper sheet, and a stainless steel coin) to be successfully developed with high resolution. In addition, this technique could also be exploited to visualize latent fingerprints on rough and dirty surfaces. The quality of the developed fingerprints was estimated visually and the morphology of the copper film was characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy. 展开更多

A high-resolution and universal method for the rapid visualization of latent fingermarks on a broad variety of surfaces has been achieved by simply combining hydrophilic cellulose membrane with dye aqueous solution. In this approach, the relatively hydrophobic characteristic of fingermark residue enable the deposit act as a “mask”, directing dye absorption processes to regions of both furrows without the ridge residues and bare cellulose membrane substrate. This effect during the spatially selective dye absorption generates a negative pattern of the fingermark within a few seconds to minutes depending on the properties of the substrates and fingermark types. It provides observation of latent fingermarks on cellulose membrane surface with high definition of level 2 and level 3 details used for personal identification purposes. It is also highly-efficient for visualizing the latent fingermarks lifted from various common (glass, carton, ceramic cup) and problematic (banknote, human skin and leather) surfaces by using transparent adhesive tape. To examine the generality of the proposed method, eight different kinds of dye aqueous solutions have been tested for developing latent fingermarks and they all provide very good results as expected. Moreover, this approach is easily used for aged fingermarks and natural fingermarks as well. Imaging may be accomplished visibly (by dye color) and topographically (using a microscope or a camera). This approach is a simple, rapid, non-destructive, safe, low-cost, universal and high resolution method compared with conventional approaches, so it demonstrates good potentiality in individual identity validation related applications. © 2017, Science China Press and Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg. 展开更多

Breathing is an integrated motor behavior that is driven and controlled by a network of brainstem neurons.Zfhx4 is a zinc finger transcription factor and our results showed that it was specifically expressed in several regions of the mouse brainstem.Mice lacking Zfhx4 died shortly after birth from an apparent inability to initiate respiration. We also found that the electrical rhythm of brainstem‒spinal cord preparations was significantly depressed in Zfhx4-null mice compared to wild-type mice.Immunofluorescence staining revealed that Zfhx4 was coexpressed with Phox2b and Math1 in the brainstem and that Zfhx4 ablation greatly decreased the expression of these proteins, especially in the retrotrapezoid nucleus.Combined ChIP‒seq and mRNA expression microarray analysis identified Phox2b as the direct downstream target gene of Zfhx4,and this finding was validated by ChIP‒qPCR.Previous studies have reported that both Phox2b and Math1 play key roles in the development of the respiratory center, and Phox2b and Math1 knockout mice are neonatal lethal due to severe central apnea. On top of this, our study revealed that Zfhx4 is a critical regulator of Phox2b expression and essential for perinatal breathing. 展开更多
