Dear Editor,We report our experience using a continuous intraoperative optical coherence tomography(OCT)-enabled microscope system for real-time anatomical evaluation of the optic pit during surgery in an 8-year-old g...Dear Editor,We report our experience using a continuous intraoperative optical coherence tomography(OCT)-enabled microscope system for real-time anatomical evaluation of the optic pit during surgery in an 8-year-old girl who presented with symptomatic optic disc pit(ODP) maculopathy. ODP is an extremely rare congenital anomaly secondary to colobomatous malformation of the optic nerve head, with a reported incidence of 0.00009%[1]. Although patients are frequently asymptomatic, approximately 40%-50% of patients experience visual symptoms because of subretinal fluid(SRF) accumulation beneath the macula.展开更多
Organic-inorganic halide perovskites have significant potential for application in next-generation solar cells.However,their applications are limited by challenges associated with large-area processability and long-te...Organic-inorganic halide perovskites have significant potential for application in next-generation solar cells.However,their applications are limited by challenges associated with large-area processability and long-term stability owing to the presence of pinholes and defect sites.Here,we incorporated cesium formate in a perovskite active layer using a sequential perovskite fabrication process to eliminate the defect sites of perovskites and improve the film processability via roll-to-roll(R2R)processing.The addition of cesium formate salt to the PbI2 layer influences the perovskite crystal formation behavior as well as increases the perovskite crystallinity and decreases the defect density.Furthermore,cesium formate addition eliminated small PbI2 grains and smoothed the perovskite surface,resulting in a large crystal grain size.The formate ions interact with the PbI2 component and passivate halide vacancy defects,reducing nonradiative recombination and improving charge transfer.Additionally,the treated perovskite films were highly stable in air,exhibiting improved efficiency retention over time and achieving a power conversion efficiency(PCE)of>22%compared to the control.Furthermore,the additive-treated perovskite film was processed using the R2R method,achieving a high PCE of>14%with minimal hysteresis.展开更多
Background:There is an urgent need to understand the pathways and processes underlying Alzheimer's disease(AD)for early diagnosis and development of effective treatments.This study was aimed to investigate Alzheim...Background:There is an urgent need to understand the pathways and processes underlying Alzheimer's disease(AD)for early diagnosis and development of effective treatments.This study was aimed to investigate Alzheimer's dementia using an unsupervised lipid,protein and gene multi-omics integrative approach.Methods:A lipidomics dataset comprising 185 AD patients,40 mild cognitive impairment(MCI)individuals and 185 controls,and two proteomics datasets(295 AD,159 MCI and 197 controls)were used for weighted gene CO-expression network analyses(WGCNA).Correlations of modules created within each modality with clinical AD diagnosis,brain atrophy measures and disease progression,as well as their correlations with each other,were analyzed.Gene ontology enrichment analysis was employed to examine the biological processes and molecular and cellular functions of protein modules associated with AD phenotypes.Lipid species were annotated in the lipid modules associated with AD phenotypes.The associations between established AD risk loci and the lipid/protein modules that showed high correlation with AD phenotypes were also explored.Results:Five of the 20 identified lipid modules and five of the 17 identified protein modules were correlated with clinical AD diagnosis,brain atrophy measures and disease progression.The lipid modules comprising phospholipids,triglycerides,sphingolipids and cholesterol esters were correlated with AD risk loci involved in immune response and lipid metabolism.The five protein modules involved in positive regulation of cytokine production,neutrophil-mediated immunity,and humoral immune responses were correlated with AD risk loci involved in immune and complement systems and in lipid metabolism(the APOE ε4 genotype).Conclusions:Modules of tightly regulated lipids and proteins,drivers in lipid homeostasis and innate immunity,are strongly associated with AD phenotypes.展开更多
