Although more than 2000 plant species have been shown to possess the ability to synthe- size natural rubber, Hevea brasiliensis L. is yet the only one qualified as a commercial source for natural rubber production, which not only has important economic value, but "also leads to significant ecological and social benefits to maintain ecological forest microclimate and ease current ecological issues caused by dwindling natural forests. With the growing demand for natural rubber, providing a large number of high-quality rubber planting materials has become a major issue to be solved.
