This criterion is expressed as a set of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), which can be readily tested by using standard numerical software. We use this new criterion to stabilize a class of nonlinear time-delay systems. Some numerical examples are given to illustrate the applicability of the results using standard numerical software.展开更多

The robustness against unknown disturbances is considered. Two algorithms based on the Sliding Mode Control (SMC) for nonlinear coupled multi-input multi-output (MIMO) systems are proposed: the first order sliding mode control (FOSMC) with saturation (sat) function and the FOSMC with sat combined with integrator controller. Those algorithms were simulated and implemented on the three tanks test-bed system and the exprimental results confirm the effectiveness of our control design.展开更多

The system is assumed to have bounded uncertainties that appear on both the state and output matrices. The observer design problem is formulated as a set of linear constraints which can be easily solved using linear matrix inequalities (LMI) technique. An application based on manipulator arm actuated by a direct current (DC) motor is presented to evaluate the performance of the proposed observer. The observer is applied to estimate both state and faults.展开更多

In particular, the synthesis of state-feedback controllers is studied by giving sufficient conditions in terms of linear matrix inequalities(LMIs). The obtained results are then extended to systems with non positive delay matrix by applying a memory controller. The effectiveness of the proposed method is shown by using numerical examples.展开更多

Indeed, a T-S observer is synthesized, in descriptor form, to estimate both the system states and the sensor faults simultaneously. The idea of the proposed approach is to introduce the sensor fault as an auxiliary variable in the state vector. Besides, the T-S model with unmeasurable premise variables is reduced to a perturbed model with measurable variables. Convergence conditions are established with Lyapunov theory and the H∞ performance in order to guarantee the best robustness to disturbances. These conditions are expressed in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). The parameters of the observer are computed using the solution of the LMI conditions. Finally, a numerical example is given to illustrate the design procedures. Simulation results show the satisfactory performances.展开更多
