Lymphatic malformation (ML), formerly called cystic lymphangioma is a benign hamartomatous tumor of lymphatic vessels. The onset of lymphangiomas is either at birth (60% to 70%) or up to two years of age (90%) and rare in adults. These malformations can occur in any region of the body, Lymphangiomas have marked predilection for the head and neck region (50% - 70%). The most common location in the mouth is the dorsum of tongue. If the positive diagnosis is generally easy, the therapeutic management remains controversial. We report the clinical case of a 23-year-old adult patient with cystic lymphangioma on the floor of the oral cavity extending gradually to the right submandibular region. The clinically suspected tumor was thoroughly explored using tomodensitometry. The treatment consisted of complete resection by a cervicotomy with histological examination confirming the macroscopic diagnosis of cystic lymphangioma. Follow-up at 3 years showed no recurrence. 展开更多

Tremor, rigidity, and bradykinesia are the major symptoms of the disease. These motor impairments are often accompanied by affective and emotional dysfunctions which have been largely studied over the last decade. The aim of this study was to investigate emotional processing organization in the brain of patients with Parkinson's disease and to explore whether there are differences between recognition of different types of emotions in Parkinson's disease. We examined 18 patients with Parkinson's disease(8 men, 10 women) with no history of neurological or psychiatric comorbidities. All these patients underwent identical brain blood oxygenation level-dependent functional magnetic resonance imaging for emotion evaluation. Blood oxygenation level-dependent functional magnetic resonance imaging results revealed that the occipito-temporal cortices, insula, orbitofrontal cortex, basal ganglia, and parietal cortex which are involved in emotion processing, were activated during the functional control. Additionally, positive emotions activate larger volumes of the same anatomical entities than neutral and negative emotions. Results also revealed that Parkinson's disease associated with emotional disorders are increasingly recognized as disabling as classic motor symptoms. These findings help clinical physicians to recognize the emotional dysfunction of patients with Parkinson's disease. 展开更多

The interposition of the colon or the small intestine between the liver and the diaphragm otherwise called Chilaiditi syndrome remains a rare condition. Its incidence varies between 0.025% and 0.28% according to recent literature and is only found incidentally on diagnostic imaging. Hence, it constitutes a classic pitfall in the diagnosis of false right pneumoperitoneum. We deem interesting to report a case of Chilaiditi syndrome in a 44-year-old patient with no significant history who was admitted at emergency department for abdominal trauma following a road accident. 展开更多

Congenital cystic dilatations of the bile duct are rare malformations representing 1 per 13,000 births with a female predominance. Diagnosis of this pathology is based on radiological imaging especially radiological investigations conducted on an ultrasound coupled with Computed tomography (CT) scan and especially a bili-MRI which allows the analysis of the bile duct malformations and the anomalies of the pancreaticobiliary junction. We will discuss in this clinical case the various radiological aspects of cystic dilatations of the biliary duct. 展开更多
