提出并验证了一种基于双偏振调制生成可变对称三角波形的方法.通过设置合适的调制器的调制指数和移相器的相移,使得调制器生成信号光的强度近似等于理想三角波形傅里叶级数展开式的前三项,从而生成不同对称因子的三角波形(三阶近似波形)... 提出并验证了一种基于双偏振调制生成可变对称三角波形的方法.通过设置合适的调制器的调制指数和移相器的相移,使得调制器生成信号光的强度近似等于理想三角波形傅里叶级数展开式的前三项,从而生成不同对称因子的三角波形(三阶近似波形).之前的三角波形生成方案大多生成对称三角波形或锯齿波形(锯齿波形可认为是非对称三角波形),且对称因子不可调谐,而本方案生成的三角波形的对称因子可调谐范围可达0%-100%,这极大地拓展了三角波形的应用范围.引入均方根误差(root-mean-square error,RMSE)来衡量生成波形与理论波形的相似度,计算可发现,理论上本方案生成的对称因子范围在14%-86%的三角波形与理想波形有良好的相似度(RMSE<0.044),仿真中生成波形的RMSE也非常接近理论误差.在实验中,通过使用频率为4GHz的射频信号生成了对称因子范围在20%-80%的三角波形. 展开更多

The cascaded chirp fiber Bragg gratings(CFBGs) with ITU-T standard wavelengths and wavelength grid are applied to compensate the dispersion of 8×10 Gb/s WDM system.The ASE of the EDFA could be reduced,the OSNR of the transmitted signal can be increased and the fluctuation of the EDFA gain can be restrained in a certain scope by the CFBG employed in the system.Experiment of error-free 8×10 Gb/s 2 015 km transmission without FEC and electric regeneration is demonstrated in this paper.In this system,only EDFA is used as amplifier,and no other form of dispersion compensator is adopted except CFBG.The experimental result showed that after 2015 km transmission,the consistency of the dispersion compensating for each channel is perfect. 展开更多

A displacement sensor based on an up-tapered Mach–Zehnder interferometer (MZI) is proposed and demonstrated experimentally. For this purpose, a fiber MZI is fabricated by using a commercial fusion splicer. Then the transmission spectra of the sensors with different middle fiber lengths are measured by bending the MZIs with different movements of the moving stage. The maximum sensitivity of 2.457 nm/mm is achieved while the shifting of the moving stage changes from 3 mm to 3.5 mm. Note that this kind of up-taper configuration is strong in strength, easy to fabricate and low in cost. 展开更多

A tunable frequency-multiplying optoelectronic oscillator(OEO) based on a dual-parallel Mach-Zehnder modulator(DPMZM) is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. In the proposed system, the tunable fundamental microware signal is generated by a tunable optoelectronic oscillator incorporating a phase-shifted fiber Bragg grating(PS-FBG). By adjusting the DC bias of the DPMZM, the frequency-doubled microwave signal with a tunable frequency range from 11 GHz to 20 GHz and the frequency-quadrupled microwave signal with a tunable frequency range from 22.5 GHz to 26 GHz are generated. The phase noises of the fundamental, frequency-doubled and frequency-quadrupled signals at 10 k Hz offset frequency are-105.9 d Bc/Hz,-103.3 d Bc/Hz and-86.2 d Bc/Hz, respectively. 展开更多
