The multi-walled carbon nanotube was introduced into the polymer matrix (PANI) to improve the electric conductivity as well as mechanical properties of the original polymer matrix.PANI/multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) composites were synthesized via ex-situ and in-situ polymerization to improve their electrical property.And the DC conductivities of PANI/MWCNT according to content and diameter of MWCNT were measured by four-point probe.The highest electric conductivity of PANI/MWCNT composite is 20 S/cm when 0.3% (mass fraction) MWCNTs with 10 nm in diameter and 15 μm in length are added in composite. 展开更多

Transparent glass fiber reinforced composites films ware fabricated by UV light induced chemical crosslinking of composite materials consisting of glass fiber and UV curable resin in film state. In order to apply film to flexible device, excellent flexural property is required, then the delamination should not occurred between glass fiber and UV curable resin when film is bent. To minimize delamination and improve the interfacial adhesion at interface between glass fiber and UV curable resin, the γ-aminopropyl triethoxy silane and γ-glycid oxypropyl trimethoxy silane were applied for the surface treatment of glass fibers. Silanization of glass fiber surface was checked by scanning electron microscopy and the degree of delamination of composite film was confirmed through the bending test, ASTEM290-96a, used by haze meter. 展开更多

A transparent and antistatic coating material consisting of polymer core-metal shell particle was prepared. As a polymer core, poly(butylacrylate-co-styrene)s ([P(BA-co-sty)s]) with various compositions of butylacrylate and styrene were synthesized by emulsion polymerization. And the effect of comonomer composition on the thermal property of polymer core particle was investigated. By electroless plating method, the nickel particles were formed and deposited on the surface of P(BA-co-Sty) particles to form P(BA-co-Sty) core-nickel shell composite particles. SEM observation confirms that the nickel particles with size of 15 nm are distributed on the surface of the polymer core particles. The surface resistance of P(BA-co-Sty) core-nickel shell composite is 0.8×108Ω/cm2, enough to act as antistatic coating material. 展开更多

Polyurethane-based Actuators with Various Polyols

This study dealt with the electrostrictive responses of polyurethane (PU) actuators with different microphase separation structure, which was a promising candidate for a material used in polymer actuators. In order to construct PUs with different higher-order structure, PUs with various types of polyol were synthesized: poly(neopentyl glycol adipate) (PNAD), poly(tetramethylene glycol) (PTMG), and poly(dimethyl siloxnae) (PDMS). Synthesized PU was characterized by Fourier transform-infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy and gel per- meation chromatography (GPC). Thermal analysis and mechanical properties of PU films were carried out with differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and UTM (universal testing machine), respectively. And PU actuator was formed in a type of monomorph, which was made by carbon black electrodes on the both surfaces of PU film by spin coating method. Actuation behavior was mainly influenced on microphase separation struc- ture and mechanical property of PU. In result, PU actuator with PNAD, polyester urethane, had the largest field-induced displacement. 展开更多
