However, it remains unexplored whether the correlation persists if the study period is extended backward in time, a different definition of violent conflict is applied, or the relationship is examined at lower geographic levels. In this study, we based on 835 internal disturbance incidents in Europe during 1049–1800 to conduct long-temporal and multi-scalar examination on the NAO-conflict nexus. ′Time-series′ and ′panel data′ disaggregation approaches, together with Granger Causality, Multiple Regression, and Survival Analyses were applied to verify the nexus quantitatively. Results show that the positive NAO-conflict correlation was significant at the continent and physiographic zone levels. During the positive NAO phases, the annual probability of internal disturbance outbreak increased by 70.0% in the southern Europe and the Mediterranean, a zone most affected by the NAO-induced desiccation effect. Yet, the NAO-conflict correlation was rather inconsistent when it was downscaled to the sub-regional level. Moreover, the NAO-conflict correlation was inflated under the time-series approach, while the panel data approach demonstrated the region-specific nature of the NAO forcing more clearly. The associated implications in examining climate-conflict nexus are discussed. Our findings may be crucial in examining violent conflict in the northwestern Africa, a highly agricultural region affected by the NAO.展开更多

However, most studies of CDM focus on economics, and few on its legal problems. CDM involves too many aspects. And the clear legal attribute of trading object is the basis of progress of the transaction and also the start point of legal protection. Therefore, this paper in accordance with the inherent principle of property rights economics, and environmental economics in CDM, only discusses CDM carbon emission right legal interpretation and its attribution. The paper recommends that in order to ensure and promote the carbon emission right trading, carbon emission right should be attributed into the system of real rights to be regulated by Real Right Law. In this way, carbon emission right can gain exclusive power of possession and use, which can achieve a clear right def inition of environmental goods in line with Coase's theory to protect Chinese prof it in carbon trading market and promote the development of the carbon trading market further.展开更多

The apparent activity energy(Ea), reaction mechanism function, quadratic equa- tion of specific heat capacity(Cp) with temperature were obtained. The kinetic parameters of the decomposition reac- tion are Ea=170.2 kJ/mol and lg(A/s^-l)=16.3. The kinetic equation isf(α)=(4/3)(1-α)[-ln(1-α)]^1/4. The specific heat capacity equation is Cp=1.285-6.276×10^-3T+1.581×10^-5T^2(283 K〈T〈353 K). With these parameters, the thermal safety properties of NGEC were studied, such as the self-accelerating decomposition temperature(TSADT), critical temperature of thermal explosion(Tb) and adiabatic time-to-explosion(tTlad). The results of the thermal safety evalua- tion of NGEC are: TSADV=459.6 K, Tb=492.8 K, tTlad=0.8 S.展开更多
