Developing dynamic color-tunable ultra-long room temperature phosphorescence(URTP)polymers with afterglow of over 1 s,photo-chromism,and multi-stimuli response for practical anti-counterfeiting and information securit...Developing dynamic color-tunable ultra-long room temperature phosphorescence(URTP)polymers with afterglow of over 1 s,photo-chromism,and multi-stimuli response for practical anti-counterfeiting and information security applications is attractive but very challenging.Herein,by doping multicolor phosphorescence pyri-dinium bromide L block or viologen-based photo-chromic V block into polyvinyl alcohol matrixes,the water-stimuli-responsive color-tunable URTP polymerfilms with afterglow of up to 8 s and the reversible viologen-based photochromic polymerfilms have been developed.More significantly,a series of dynamic color-tunable URTP polymerfilms with ultra-long afterglow of over 6 s,photo-chromism,and water-stimuli response have been successfully exploited by integrating L and V blocks into one polymer system.Mechanistic investigations have revealed that their photo-chromism mainly comes from the photo-generated viologen free radicals.Furthermore,their dynamic multilevel anti-counterfeiting applications have been demonstrated.These results pave the way to develop smarter multifunctional URTP materials for anti-counterfeiting and optical sensing.展开更多
Four 1,8-naphthalimide hydrazone molecules with different electron-donating groups have been applied in the study of linear and nonlinear optical(NLO)properties.These compounds showed strong green emission in solution...Four 1,8-naphthalimide hydrazone molecules with different electron-donating groups have been applied in the study of linear and nonlinear optical(NLO)properties.These compounds showed strong green emission in solution.Their NLO properties such as two-photon absorption(TPA)behavior with femtosecond laser pulses ca.800 nm and excited-state absorption(ESA)behavior with nanosecond laser pulses at 532 nm were investigated.Compound 4 presented the largest two-photon cross section(550 GM)among them due to two factors:the conjugated length of compound 4 is the longest and the electron-donating ability of compound 4 is the strongest.Different from TPA behavior,compound 2 showed the best nonlinear absorption properties at 532 nm and its nonlinear absorption coef-ficient and third-order nonlinear optical susceptibilitiesχ^(3)were up to 1.41×10^(−10) MKS and 4.65×10^(−12) esu,re-spectively.Through the modification of the structure,the nonlinear optical properties of these compounds at differ-ent wavelengths(532 and 800 nm)were well tuned.The great broad-band nonlinear optical properties indicate hy-drazones are good candidates for organic nonlinear optical absorption materials.展开更多

Here, an injectable immunoregulatory hydrogel (SrmE20) tha...Regulating macrophage phenotypes to reconcile the conflict between bacterial suppression and tissue regeneration is ideal for treating infectious skin wounds. Here, an injectable immunoregulatory hydrogel (SrmE20) that sequentially drives macrophage phenotypic polarization (M0 to M1, then to M2) was constructed by integrating anti-inflammatory components and proinflammatory solvents. In vitro experiments demonstrated that the proinflammatory solvent ethanol stabilized the hydrogel structure, maintained the phenolic hydroxyl group activity, and achieved macrophages' proinflammatory transition (M0 to M1) to enhance antibacterial effects. With ethanol depletion, the hydrogel's cations and phenolic hydroxyl groups synergistically regulated macrophages' anti-inflammatory transition (M1 to M2) to initiate regeneration. In the anti-contraction full-thickness wound model with infection, this hydrogel effectively eliminated bacteria and even achieved anti-inflammatory M2 macrophage accumulation at three days post-surgery, accelerated angiogenesis and collagen deposition. By sequentially driving macrophage phenotypic polarization, this injectable immunoregulatory hydrogel will bring new guidance for the care and treatment of infected wounds.展开更多
