The trimeric spike protein(S) decorating the membrane surface of the infectious virion is responsible for the attachment and entry by binding to the receptor angiotensin-converting enzyme 2(ACE2) in the early replication cycle(Zhou P. et al., 2020). Two subunits S1 and S2 are included in the trimeric glycoprotein.展开更多
