He was a Leukemia Society of America Postdoctoral Fellow at NYU and Yale University. He did his residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at NYU and fellowship in Oncologic Surgical Pathology at Memorial Sloan- Kettering. He became an assistant professor at the University of Rochester in July 2000 and rose to the rank of full professor in 2007.
