Milk allergy is one of the most common food allergies,affecting 6%of young children,andβ-lactoglobulin(β-LG)is the main milk allergen.Clostridium tyrobutyricum Z816 was selected for the degradation ofβ-LG,which was...Milk allergy is one of the most common food allergies,affecting 6%of young children,andβ-lactoglobulin(β-LG)is the main milk allergen.Clostridium tyrobutyricum Z816 was selected for the degradation ofβ-LG,which was successfully reduced by about 90%using permeabilized bacteria under the optimized conditions.The hydrolyzed peptides were identified by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry(LC-MS/MS)and analyzed by molecular modeling,which indicated that C.tyrobutyricum Z816 could effectively degrade the antigenic epitopes ofβ-LG.Finally,the concentration and digestibility ofβ-LG in actual samples was quantified using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)and gastrointestinal digestion simulation experiments.The results showed more than 92%ofβ-LG in actual samples was hydrolyzed,and the gastric and total digestibility of whey protein isolate(WPI)was improved by 85.96%and 64.51%,respectively.Therefore,C.tyrobutyricum Z816 offers an effective method to degradeβ-LG and reduce the occurrence of milk allergies,which has great significance for the development of hypoallergenic dairy products.展开更多
Two years after the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)outbreak,an increasing number of patients continue to suffer from long COVID(LC),persistent symptoms,and/or delayed or long-term complications beyond the initial 4...Two years after the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)outbreak,an increasing number of patients continue to suffer from long COVID(LC),persistent symptoms,and/or delayed or long-term complications beyond the initial 4 weeks from the onset of symptoms.Constant fatigue is one of the most common LC symptoms,leading to severely reduced quality of life among patients.Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma—known as the King of Herbs in traditional Chinese medicine—has shown clinical anti-fatigue effects.In this review,we summarize the underlying anti-fatigue mechanisms of Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma extracts and their bioactive compounds,with a special focus on anti-viral,immune remodeling,endocrine system regulation,and metabolism,suggesting that Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma is a potentially promising treatment for LC,especially regarding targeting fatigue.展开更多
Atherosclerosis is the most common cause of cardiovascular diseases that contribute to the major morbidity worldwide,but still lacking of effective treatment strategy.Here,a hybrid cell is constructed for the sonodyna...Atherosclerosis is the most common cause of cardiovascular diseases that contribute to the major morbidity worldwide,but still lacking of effective treatment strategy.Here,a hybrid cell is constructed for the sonodynamic effect promoted cell therapy of early atherosclerosis by fusing M2 macrophages with thylakoid(TK)membranes.After systemic administration,the obtained TK-M2 actively accumulates in the early atherosclerotic plaques,wherein M2 macrophages relieve the cholesterol accumulation and the inflammation in the foam cells.Meanwhile,the TK membranes decorated on the M2 macrophages exhibit both type I and type II sonodynamic effects under ultrasound(US)activation,inducing the direct apoptosis of foam cells.The cooperation of M2 and TK leads to significant outcome in eliminating atherosclerotic plaques without obvious side-effects,providing a new avenue for atherosclerosis treatment.展开更多
