The dynamics of spin–orbit-coupled Bose–Einstein condensate with parity-time symmetry through a moving obstacle potential is simulated numerically. In the miscible two-component condensate, the formation of the Kármán vortex street is observed in one component, while ‘the half-quantum vortex street' is observed in the other component. Other patterns of vortex shedding, such as oblique vortex dipoles, V-shaped vortex pairs, irregular turbulence, and combined modes of various wakes, can also be found. The ratio of inter-vortex spacing in one row to the distance between vortex rows is approximately0.18, which is less than the stability condition 0.28 of classical fluid. The drag force acting on the obstacle potential is simulated. The parametric regions of Kármán vortex street and other vortex patterns are calculated. The range of Kármán vortex street is surrounded by the region of combined modes. In addition, spin–orbit coupling disrupts the symmetry of the system and the gain-loss affects the local particle distribution of the system, which leads to the local symmetry breaking of the system, and finally influences the stability of the Kármán vortex street. Finally, we propose an experimental protocol to realize the Kármán vortex street in a system. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Our study investigated the role of FAM53B in regulating macrophage M2 polarization and its potential mechanisms in promoting pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC)metastasis.AIM To further investigate the role of FAM53B in regulating macrophage M2 polarization and its potential mechanism in promoting PDAC metastasis.Our goal is to determine how FAM53B affects macrophage M2 polarization and to define its underlying mechanism in PDAC metastasis.METHODS Cell culture and various experiments,including protein analysis,immunohisto-chemistry,and animal model experiments,were conducted.We compared FAM53B expression between PDAC tissues and healthy tissues and assessed the correlation of FAM53B expression with clinical features.Our study analyzed the role of FAM53B in macrophage M2 polarization in vitro by examining the expression of relevant markers.Finally,we used a murine model to study the role of FAM53B in PDAC metastasis and analyzed the potential underlying mechanisms.RESULTS Our research showed that there was a significant increase in FAM53B levels in PDAC tissues,which was linked to adverse tumor features.Experimental findings indicated that FAM53B can enhance macrophage M2 polarization,leading to increased anti-inflammatory factor release.The results from the mouse model further supported the role of FAM53B in PDAC metastasis,as blocking FAM53B prevented tumor cell invasion and metastasis.CONCLUSION FAM53B promotes PDAC metastasis by regulating macrophage M2 polarization.This discovery could lead to the development of new strategies for treating PDAC.For example,interfering with the FAM53B signaling pathway may prevent cancer spread.Our research findings also provide important information for expanding our understanding of PDAC pathogenesis. 展开更多

The objective of this study was to retrieve daily composite soil moisture by jointly using brightness temperature observations from multiple operating satellites for near real-time application with better coverage and higher accuracy.Our approach was to first apply the single-channel brightness radiometric algorithm to estimate soil moisture from the respective brightness temperature observations of the SMAP,SMOS,AMSR2,FY3B,and FY3C satellites on the same day and then produce a daily composite dataset by averaging the individual satellite-retrieved soil moisture.We further evaluated our product,the official soil moisture products of the five satellites,and the ensemble mean (i.e.,arithmetic mean) of the five official satellite soil moisture products against ground observations from two networks in Central Tibet and Anhui Province,China.The results show that our product outperforms the individual released products of the five satellites and their ensemble means in the two validation areas.The root mean square error (RMSE ) values of our product were 0.06 and 0.09 m3/m3 in Central Tibet and Anhui Province,respectively.Relative to the ensemble mean of the five satellite products,our product improves the accuracy by 9.1% and 57.7% in Central Tibet and Anhui Province,respectively.This demonstrates that jointly using brightness temperature observations from multiple satellites to retrieve soil moisture not only improves the spatial coverage of daily observations but also produces better daily composite products. 展开更多

Nucleophosmin/B23 (NPM) is a universally expressed nucleolar phosphoprotein that participates in proliferation, apoptosis, ribosome assembly, and centrosome duplication; however, the role of NPM in cell cycle regulation is not well characterized. We investigated the mechanism by which NPM is involved in cell cycle regulation. NPM was knocked down using siRNA in HepG2 hepatoblastoma cells. NPM translocation following actinomycin D (ActD) treatment was investigated using immunofluorescent staining. Expression of NPM and other factors involved in cell cycle regulation was examined by Western blotting. Cell cycle distribution was measured using flow cytometry to detect 5-ethynyl-2′-deoxyuridine (EdU) incorporation. Cell proliferation was quantified by the MTT assay. Knockdown of NPM increased the percentage of HepG2 cells in S phase and led to decreased expression of P53 and P21Cip1/WAF1. S-phase arrest in HepG2 cells was significantly enhanced by ActD treatment. Furthermore, knockdown of NPM abrogated ActD-induced G2/M phase cell cycle arrest. Taken together, these data demonstrate that inhibition of NPM has a significant effect on the cell cycle. 展开更多

BACKGROUND T-cell large granular lymphocytic leukemia(T-LGLL)is a rare type of aplastic anemia with diverse clinical manifestations.Concomitant diseases are often present at the first manifestation.We describe the treatment of a patient with CD57-negativeγδT-LGLL with pure red cell aplasia(PRCA).CASE SUMMARY A 34-year-old woman with a 20-year history of anemia visited our hospital owing to severe dizziness and was admitted.Her condition was diagnosed as CD57-negativeγδT-LGLL with PRCA through bone marrow cytology,bone marrow pathology,bone marrow flow cytometry,bone marrow multiplex polymerase chain reaction combined with fluorescent fragment analysis,and other tests.Treatment with prednisone,methotrexate,and subcutaneous erythropoietin did not significantly change her hemoglobin level.After treatment with oral cyclophosphamide for 3 mo,her hemoglobin level increased to approximately 100 g/L.After 5 mo of treatment,the patient could perform activities of daily living independently.CONCLUSION The treatment of CD57-negativeγδT-LGLL with PRCA with cyclophosphamide helps to improve prognosis. 展开更多

Objective:To investigate the effects of cagliazin,a sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitor(SGLT-2I),on ventricular remodeling in spontaneously hypertensive rats(SHR)through renin angiotensin system(RAS)and transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1).Methods:The experiment was divided into 4 groups:normal blood pressure control group,SHR group,cagliet net low-dose group(30mg/kg),cagliet net high-dose group(60mg/kg),once a day for 8 weeks.Normal blood pressure rats(WKY)were used as the control group to measure blood pressure with tail sleeve sphygmomanometer(BP)and blood glucose level was measured with glucose meter Cardiac function was evaluated by echocardiography,cell area of left ventricle was evaluated by histomorphology,real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction and protein imprinting hybridization were used to detect TGF-β1 Smad4 renin from type I collagen(Col1a)type III collagen(Col3a)matrix metalloproteinase 2(MMP-2)Expression results of angiotensin II1 type receptor 1(AGTR1)and Angiotensin II2 type receptor 2(AGTR2).Results:After 8 weeks of administration,the cardiac weight/body weight ratio(HW/BW)of left ventricular weight/heart weight ratio(LVW/HW)of kaglinet low-dose group and high-dose group was statistically significant compared with that of spontaneous hypertensive rats(P&lt);Compared with SHRs,the expression of Col1a,Col3a,MMP2,TGF-β1,Smad4,Renin AGTR1 was significantly down-regulated and the expression of AGTR2 was up-regulated in cagliet net low-dose and high-dose groups Conclusions:Cagliazin can improve hypertension-induced cardiac remodeling by regulating RAS and TGF-β1/Smad signaling pathways.Conclusion:From the results,canaglifozin was found to ameliorate pressure overload-induced cardiac remodeling by regulating the RAS and TGF-β1/Smad signaling pathway. 展开更多

Background: Kearns-Sayre syndrome (KSS) is a mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) deletion disorder characterized by a triad of onset before 20 years of age, ophthalmoplegia, and pigmentary retinopathy. The heart and central nervous system are commonly involved. We summarized clinical and brain magnetic resonance imaging (M RI) features of a cohort of Chinese KSS patients. Methods: Nineteen patients confirmed by muscle biopsy and mtDNA analysis were enrolled. We examined clinical profiles, mainly focusing on changes in electrocardiogram (ECG) and brain MRI. The correlation between genotype and phenotype was statistically analyzed. Results: The mean age of onset was 9.6 + 4.3 years, with all developing the classic triad at the time of diagnosis. Heart conduction block was detected in 63.2%, with four initially presenting as bundle branch block and developing into complete atrioventricular block over 3-72 months. Brain MRI showed symmetric high-T2 signals in 100% of cerebral and cerebellar white matter, as well as brainstem, 46.7% of basal ganglia, and 53.3% of thalamus. There were two patterns of cerebral white matter involvements, one with selective subcortical U-fibers and the other with periventricular white matter. The size of mtDNA deletion did not significantly correlate with age of onset or percentage of ragged blue fibers on muscle pathology. Conclusions: The clinical features of KSS evolve dynamically, affecting the cardiac conduction system predominantly, highlighting the significance of ECG monitoring. Brain MRI showed changes involving both the white matter and deep gray nuclei. Clinical presentation or severity of muscle pathological changes is not related to the size of mtDNA deletions. 展开更多

Interventional radiology (IR) is a clinical medical specialty which uses minimally invasive image-guided procedures to diagnose and treat disease.[1] IR was introduced in China during the 1980s. It is a rapidly expanding field and has become an integral part of medical care. The Chinese Society of Interventional Radiology is one of the largest societies for IR in the world.[2] However, there is no independent IR curriculum among clinical undergraduate programs in China, which is not helpful for clinical medical undergraduates to improve their cognition for IR. In this article, we report our initial experience of the IR teaching curriculum and discuss whether awareness and interest of IR could be improved by a systematic study of IR curriculum among clinical medical undergraduates. 展开更多

Polyethylenimine-cyclodextrin-tegafur(PEI-CyD-tegafur) conjugate was synthesized as a novel multifunctional prodrug of tegafur for co-delivery of chemotherapeutic agent tegafur and enhanced green fluorescent protein(EGFP) reporter plasmid DNA.Conjugation of tegafur to PEI-CyD via chemical linkage was characterized by 1 H NMR spectrometry and ultraviolet(UV) spectrometry.PEI-CyD-tegafur was able to condense plasmid DNA into complexes of around 150 nm with positive charge at the N/P ratio of 25,in accordance with electron microscopy observation of compact and monodisperse nanoparticles.The results of in vitro experiments showed enhanced cytotoxicity and considerable transfection efficiency in B16F10 cell line.Therefore,PEI-CyD-tegafur may have great potential as a co-delivery system with anti-cancer activity and potential for gene delivery. 展开更多
