Characteristics of sulfur dioxide emission from coal and petroleum coke combustion were examined in a lab scale circulating fluidized bed (CFB) combustor. The rate constant of the first order rate expression for the absorption SO2 on the CaO surface was similar regardless of the origin of the limestone, the particle size and the initial SO2 concentration. However, the total SO2 absorption capacity was different depending on the origin of the limestone. The breakability of the particle which provides new surface for the reaction seems to play a major role in the absorption characteristics. 展开更多
