CaO based sorbents have great potential for commercial use to capture CO_(2) of power plants.In the demand of producing sorbents with better cyclic performance,CaO-based sorbents derived from different kinds of calciu...CaO based sorbents have great potential for commercial use to capture CO_(2) of power plants.In the demand of producing sorbents with better cyclic performance,CaO-based sorbents derived from different kinds of calcium precursors,containing calcium carbonate(CC-CaO),calcium gluconate monohydrate(CG-CaO),calcium citrate(CCi-CaO)and calcium acetate monohydrate(CA-CaO),were tested cyclically and compared using simultaneous thermal analyzer(STA).And further study was conducted on the sorbents modified with citric acid monohydrate and 50%gluconic acid solution by wet mixing combustion synthesis.The modified sorbents showed better performance and higher pore parameters as well as porous microstructure with more organic acid added.After 20 cycles of carbonation and calcination,the C2CCi8(CaO:citric acid=2:8 by mass ratio)and C2G8(CaO:gluconic acid=2:8 by mass ratio)sorbent possess CO_(2) capture capacity of 0.45g·g^(-1)(g CO_(2) per g sorbents)and 0.52 g·g^(-1) respectively.The citric acid was more effective for modification than gluconic acid for extended 50 cycles.Furthermore,good linear relationship between CaO conversion and specific surface area as well as pore volume were determined,of which the specific surface area showed closer correlation with CaO conversion。展开更多
In structural reliability analysis,simulation methods are widely used.The statistical characteristics of failure probability estimate of these methods have been well investigated.In this study,the sensitivities of the...In structural reliability analysis,simulation methods are widely used.The statistical characteristics of failure probability estimate of these methods have been well investigated.In this study,the sensitivities of the failure probability estimate and its statistical characteristics with regard to sample,called‘contribution indexes’,are proposed to measure the contribution of sample.The contribution indexes in four widely simulation methods,i.e.,Monte Carlo simulation(MCS),importance sampling(IS),line sampling(LS)and subset simulation(SS)are derived and analyzed.The proposed contribution indexes of sample can provide valuable information understanding the methods deeply,and enlighten potential improvement of methods.It is found that the main differences between these investigated methods lie in the contribution indexes of the safety samples,which are the main factors to the efficiency of the methods.Moreover,numerical examples are used to validate these findings.展开更多
Nominalization refers to the process of producing a noun from another part of speech or the derivation of a noun phrase from an underlying clause.In order to fulfill the specific analysis of nominalization in business...Nominalization refers to the process of producing a noun from another part of speech or the derivation of a noun phrase from an underlying clause.In order to fulfill the specific analysis of nominalization in business English contract,a corpus has been created with typical contracts.Based on a self-built business contract corpus,aspects of English nominalization,including its frequency of use,meaning selection and discourse position and function,have been examined.This study has found that nominalization is one of the most important characteristics of business contracts,and English nominalization can function mainly to improve the conciseness,formality,objectivity,and cohesiveness of the discourse.Meanwhile,the different characteristics of nominalization require different translation strategies and methods.The findings of this study may have implications for the business English teaching and translation.展开更多
We present an effective spectral matching method based on a shape association graph for finding region correspondences between two cel animation keyframes.We formulate the correspondence problem as an adapted quadrati...We present an effective spectral matching method based on a shape association graph for finding region correspondences between two cel animation keyframes.We formulate the correspondence problem as an adapted quadratic assignment problem,which comprehensively considers both the intrinsic geometric and topology of regions to find the globally optimal correspondence.To simultaneously represent the geometric and topological similarities between regions,we propose a shape association graph(SAG),whose node attributes indicate the geometric distance between regions,and whose edge attributes indicate the topological distance between combined region pairs.We convert topological distance to geometric distance between geometric objects with topological features of the pairs,and introduce Kendall shape space to calculate the intrinsic geometric distance.By utilizing the spectral properties of the affinity matrix induced by the SAG,our approach can efficiently extract globally optimal region correspondences,even if shapes have inconsistent topology and severe deformation.It is also robust to shapes undergoing similarity transformations,and compatible with parallel computing techniques.展开更多

Seemingly magic effects of nanomaterials have now been brought to improve the performance of asphalt. To demonstrate many of the prospective applications, researchers have conducted a series of positive and effective efforts dealing with the preparation of modified asphalt to demonstrate the mechanism of modification and the resultant improvement in performance. In this review, various nanomaterials used in asphalt modification are initially presented, followed by the methods employed to modify the asphalt with these materials and finally the effects of nanomaterials on the performance of base asphalt are presented and the modification mechanisms are discussed. Based on the current research results, the influence of preparation process parameters on the compatibility of every phase in the modified asphalt and the stability of the modified asphalt system are described. This paper presents a method for simulating surface crack patterns appearing in ceramic glaze, glass, wood and mud. It uses a physically and heuristically combined method to model this type of crack pattern. A stress ...This paper presents a method for simulating surface crack patterns appearing in ceramic glaze, glass, wood and mud. It uses a physically and heuristically combined method to model this type of crack pattern. A stress field is defined heuristically over the triangle mesh of an object. Then, a first-order quasi-static cracking node method (CNM) is used to model deformation. A novel combined stress and energy combined crack criterion is employed to address crack initiation and propagation separately according to physics. Meanwhile, a highest-stress-first rule is applied in crack initiation, and a breadth-first rule is applied in crack propagation. Finally, a local stress relaxation step is employed to evolve the stress field and avoid shattering artifacts. Other related issues are also discussed, such as the elimination of quadra- ture sub-cells, the prevention of parallel cracks and spurious crack procession. Using this method, a variety of crack patterns observed in the real world can be reproduced by changing a set of parameters. Consequently, our method is robust because the computational mesh is independent of dynamic cracks and has no sliver elements. We evaluate the realism of our results by comparing them with photographs of realworld examples. Further, we demonstrate the controllability of our method by varying different parameters.展开更多
