Quantitative analysis of C, Si, Mn, Ni, Cr and Cu in low-alloy steel under ambient conditions via laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy 被引量:4

A diode-pumped solid-state laser (DPSSL) with a high energetic stability and long service life is applied to ablate the steel samples instead of traditional Nd:YAG laser pumped by a xenon lamp, and several factors, such as laser pulse energy, repetition rate and argon flow rate, that influence laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) analytical performance are investigated in detail. Under the optimal experiment conditions, the relative standard deviations for C, Si, Mn, Ni, Cr and Cu are 3.3%-8.9%, 0.9%-2.8%, 1.2%-4.1%, 1.7%-3.0%, 1.1%-3.4% and 2.5%-8.5%, respectively, with the corresponding relative errors of 1.1%-7.9%, 1.0%-6.3%, 0.4%-3.9%, 1.5%-6.3%, 1.2%-4.0% and 1.2%-6.4%. Compared with the results of the traditional spark discharge optical emission spectrometry technique, the analytical performance of LIBS is just a little inferior due to the less stable laser-induced plasma and smaller amount of ablated sample by the laser. However, the precision, detection limits and accuracy of LIBS obtained in our present work were sufficient to meet the requirements for process analysis. These technical performances of higher stability of output energy and longer service life for DPSSL, in comparison to the Q-switch laser pumped by xeon lamp, qualify it well for the real time online analysis for different industrial applications. 展开更多

The Kumtag Desert is located in the arid northwestern portion of China,and is considered China’s sixth-largest desert.Grain-size analysis of the sand plays a very important role in differentiating sedimentary environments,determining the ways that sediments are transported,estimating hydrodynamic conditions,and analyzing grain-size trends.The analysis of the grain size of 20 sand samples that were taken from mid-northern,north margin,western,middle,southern,and southeast margins of the Kumtag Desert shows that grain sizes are vastly different.The grain-size parameters fall in the following range:the median diameter Mz = 1.55Φ-2.92Φ,the standard deviation σI= 0.41-1.11,the skewness SKI = ?0.11-0.31,kurtosis KG = 0.77-1.23.The frequency curves of grain size have characteristics with single peaks and multi-peaks,and most of the sand samples’ skewness appears close to asymmetric.The analytical results reveal that the sediments of the Kumtag Desert are complex and diverse,which affected by such forces as wind deposition,lacustrine sediment,and alluvial and proluvial river deposits. 展开更多

The quality of the MODIS C6 3-km and 10-km aerosol optical depth(AOD) products retrieved by the Dark Target(DT)method is discussed using ground-based observations in the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei region from 1 August 2007 to 31 July2008. Good consistency exists between the 3-km and 10-km products and ground-based observations. The retrieval accuracy of the two products both show distinctive seasonality. The percentage falling within the expected error(EE) is largest in the winter, moderate in the spring and autumn, and smallest in the summer. A worse overestimation appears in the spring and summer(27%–66%). However, the 3-km and 10-km products over different surfaces still exhibit obvious deviations. The 10-km product performs better in the large cities, while the 3-km product has advantages in the suburbs. In urban areas, the percentage falling within EE of the 3-km AOD product(18%–59%) is lower than that for the 10-km AOD product(31%–69%). However, in suburban areas, the percentage falling within EE of the 3-km AOD product(61%–84%) is higher than for the 10 km AOD product(54%–83%).The percentages falling within EE differ considerably when the AOD is greater than1.5(73% and 63% for the 3-km and 10-km products, respectively). On the whole, the 3-km(10-km) AOD product performs better in suburban(urban) areas. 展开更多

华北平原大气污染与低能见度状况一直是人们关切的问题.本文通过分析2014-2017年PM_(2.5)化学成分的浓度和消光效果,研究了华北平原典型城市保定市的大气污染特征.结果表明,PM_(2.5)分的年均浓度显示下降趋势,水溶性无机离子,碳质气溶... 华北平原大气污染与低能见度状况一直是人们关切的问题.本文通过分析2014-2017年PM_(2.5)化学成分的浓度和消光效果,研究了华北平原典型城市保定市的大气污染特征.结果表明,PM_(2.5)分的年均浓度显示下降趋势,水溶性无机离子,碳质气溶胶和金属元素分别减少了11μgm^(-3),23μg m^(-3)和1796 ngm^(-3).NH_(4)^(+),NO_(3)^(-)和SO_4^(2-)是PM_(2.5)污染的主要污染物,三者之和占总离子浓度的82.9%.基于IMPROVE方程对细颗粒物进行重构,在观测期间PM_(2.5)质量浓度平均为93±69μgm^(-1),春季,夏季,秋季和冬季的消光系数分别为373.8±233.6 Mm^(-1)±,405.3±300.1 Mm^(-1),554.3±378.2 Mm^(-1)和1005.2±750.3 Mm^(-1).硫酸铵,硝酸铵和有机物对消光的贡献最大,不同季节下占比达55%~77%.通过PM_(2.5)组分进行重构,利用IMPROVE算法计算得到Rb_(sca),用能见度测量值转换得到Vb_(sca),二者具有较高的相关性(r^(2)=0.84);但存在Vb_(sca)的高值被低估,Vb_(sca)的低值被高估的现象;特别是当Rb_(sca)>1123 Mm^(-1)(对应能见度约小于2.0 km)时,Vb_(sca)的值被低估了17.6%.高浓度PM_(2.5)和高湿度对IMPROVE算法结果有显著的影响. 展开更多

A descriptor for the local dust storm occurrence probability constituted by meteorological factors

Based on daily data sets of 17 meteorological factors during the period of 1954-2005 for 60 gauge stations distributed over Gansu Province of China and the corresponding dust storm records, the dust storm probabilities related to different classes of each factor have been calculated and analyzed. On the basis of statistical analysis, a meteorological descriptor quantifying the daily dust storm occurrence probability for each station, which is referred to as the Dust Storm Occurrence Probability Index (DSOPI), has been effectively established. According to the statistical characteristics of DSOPI for each station, a feasible judging criterion for a dust storm event has been determined, which can greatly contribute to forecasting dust storms and completing the unavailable historic dust storm records. Meanwhile, the average daily dust storm probability related to each factor on the dust storm day for each station has been specially analyzed in detail, finally disclosing that, in general, the more signifi- cant one factor's influence on dust storms, the greater its contribution to them; and each factor's contribution clearly varies from place to place. Moreover, on average, maximum and mean wind speeds, maximum-speed wind direction, daily sunny hours, evaporation, mean and lowest relative humidity, lowest surface air pressure and vapor pressure contribute to dust storm events in Gansu Province most greatly in order among all the 17 involved factors. 展开更多

Influence of different weather events on concentrations of particulate matter with different sizes in Lanzhou,China 被引量:19

The formation and development of weather events has a great impact on the diffusion, accumulation and transport of air pollutants, and causes great changes in the particulate pollution level. It is very important to study their influence on particulate pollution. Lanzhou is one of the most particulate-polluted cities in China and even in the world. Particulate matter (PM) including TSP, PM〉10, PMzs-10, PM2.5 and PM1.0 concentrations were simultaneously measured during 2005-2007 in Lanzhou to evaluate the influence of three kinds of weather events - dost, precipitation and cold front - on the concentrations of PM with different sizes and detect the temporal evolution. The main results are as follows: (1) the PM pollution in Lanzhou during dust events was very heavy and the rate of increase in the concentration of PM2.5-10 was the highest of the five kinds of particles. During dust-storm events, the highest peaks of the concentrations of fine particles (PM2.5 and PM1.0) occurred 3 hr later than those of coarse particles (PM〉10 and PM/.5-10). (2) The major effect of precipitation events on PM is wet scavenging. The scavenging rates of particles were closely associated with the kinds of precipitation events. The scavenging rates of TSP, PM〉10 and PMa.5-10 by convective precipitation were several times as high as those caused by frontal precipitation for the same precipitation amount, the reason being the different formation mechanism and precipitation characteristics of the two kinds of precipitation. Moreover, there exists a limiting value for the scavenging rates of particles by precipitation. (3) The major effect of cold-front events on particles is clearance. However, during cold-front passages, the PM concentrations could sometimes rise first and decrease afterwards, which is the critical difference in the influence of cold fronts on the concentrations of particulate pollutants vs. gaseous pollutants. 展开更多

The actual harmful effects of industrial waste- water can not be reflected by the conventional water quality index. Therefore, the change in dissolved organic matter and the genetic toxicity of petrochemical waste- water were observed in the current study by examining the wastewater treatment plant of a large petrochemical enterprise in Northwest China. Using XAD-8, MSC, and DA-7 resins, the wastewater was separated into six fractions, namely, hydrophobic acid (HOA), hydrophobic neutral (HOB), hydrophobic alkaline, hydrophilic acid, hydrophilic alkaline, and hydrophilic neutral. Umu-test was used to detect the genetic toxicity of the wastewater samples, and fluorescence spectra were also obtained to examine genetic toxic substances. The results show that wastewater treatment facilities can effectively reduce the concentration of organic matter in petrochemical waste- water (p 〈 0.05). However, the mixing of aniline waste- water can increase the amount of organic carbon (p 〈 0.05) and can overload facilities. This finding shows that the mixed collection and joint treatment of different types of petrochemical wastewater can affect the water quality of the effluent. Particularly, hydrophobic substances can be difficult to remove and account for a relatively large proportion of the effluent. The mixture of aniline waste- water can increase the genetic toxicity of the effluent (p〈0.05), and biologic treatment can not effectively decrease the toxicity. Most of the genetic toxicology may exist in the HOA and HOB fractions. Fluorescence spectroscopy also confirms this result, and tryptophan- like substances may play an important role in genetic toxicity. 展开更多

Lanzhou is one of the most aerosol-polluted cities in China. In this study, an online analyzer for Monitoring for AeRosols and GAses was deployed to measure major water-soluble inorganic ions in PM10 at 1-hour time resolution, and 923 samples were obtained from Apr 1 to May 24, 2011. During the field campaign, air pollution days were encountered with Air Quality Index more than 100 and daily average concentration of PM10 exceeding 150 itg/m3. Based on the variation of water-soluble ions and results of Positive Matrix Factorization 3.0 model execution, the air pollution days were classified as crustal species- or secondary aerosol-induced, and the different formation mechanisms of these two air pollution types were studied. During the crustal species pollution days, the content of Ca2+ increased and was about 2.3 times higher than the average on clear days, and the air parcel back trajectory was used to analyze the sources of crustal species. Data on sulfate, trace gases and meteorological factors were used to reveal the formation mechanism of secondary aerosol pollution. The sulfur oxidation ratio (SOR) was derived from the 923 samples, and the SOR had high positive correlation with relative humidity in early summer in Lanzhou. 展开更多

A severe dust event occurred from April 23 to April 27, 2014, in East Asia. A state-of-the-art online atmospheric chemistry model, WRF/Chem, was combined with a dust model, GOCART, to better understand the entire process of this event. The natural color images and aerosol optical depth (AOD) over the dust source region are derived from datasets of moderate resolution imaging spectroradiometer (MODIS) loaded on a NASA Aqua satellite to trace the dust variation and to verify the model results. Several meteorological conditions, such as pressure, temperature, wind vectors and relative humidity, are used to analyze meteorological dynamic. The results suggest that the dust emission occurred only on April 23 and 24, although this event lasted for 5 days. The Gobi Desert was the main source for this event, and the Taklamakan Desert played no important role. This study also suggested that the landform of the source region could remarkably interfere with a dust event. The Tarim Basin has a topographical effect as a "dust reservoir" and can store unsettled dust, which can be released again as a second source, making a dust event longer and heavier. 展开更多

A simulated climate warming experiment was conducted to evaluate the combined effects of elevated temperature and CO_2 concentration on the bioaccumulation,translocation and subcellular distributions of Cd and Zn in wheat seedlings(Triticum aestivum L.cv.Xihan 1.) at Dingxi,Gansu Province,China.The objective was to find evidence that global climate change is affecting the bioaccumulation of Cd and Zn in T.aestivum L.cv.Xihan 1.The results showed that compared to control A,elevated temperature and CO_2 increased Cd bioaccumulation in the shoots by 1.4–2.5 times,and increased that in the roots by 1.2–1.5times,but decreased Zn levels in wheat shoots by 1.4–2.0 times,while decreased that in the roots by 1.6–1.9 times.Moreover,temperature and CO_2 concentration increase also led to increased Cd concentration,and decreased Zn concentration in subcellular compartments of wheat seedlings.The largest Cd concentration increase(174.4%) was observed in the cell wall and debris fractions of shoots after they were subjected to the highest CO_2 and temperature treatment(TC3).The largest Zn concentration decrease(53.1%) was observed in the soluble(F3) fractions of shoots after they were subjected to the medium CO_2 and temperature treatment(TC2).The temperature and CO_2 increase had no significant effect on the proportional distribution of Cd and Zn in the subcellular fractions.The root-to-shoot translocation of Cd increased with the increasing temperature and CO_2 concentration.However,the Zn distributions only fluctuated within a small range. 展开更多
