Identification of biomarkers associated with the feed efficiency by metabolomics profiling:results from the broiler lines divergent for high or low abdominal fat content

Background:Improving feed efficiency(FE)is one of the main objectives in broiler breeding.It is difficult to directly measure FE traits,and breeders hence have been trying to identify biomarkers for the indirect selection and improvement of FE traits.Metabolome is the"bridge"between genome and phenome.The metabolites may potentially account for more of the phenotypic variation and can suitably serve as biomarkers for selecting FE traits.This study aimed to identify plasma metabolite markers for selecting high-FE broilers.A total of 441 birds from Northeast Agricultural University broiler lines divergently selected for abdominal fat content were used to analyze plasma metabolome and estimate the genetic parameters of differentially expressed metabolites.Results:The results identified 124 differentially expressed plasma metabolites(P<0.05)between the lean line(highFE birds)and the fat line(low-FE birds).Among these differentially expressed plasma metabolites,44 were found to have higher positive or negative genetic correlations with FE traits(|r_g|≥0.30).Of these 44 metabolites,14 were found to display moderate to high heritability estimates(h~2≥0.20).However,among the 14 metabolites,4 metabolites whose physiological functions have not been reported were excluded.Ultimately,10 metabolites were suggested to serve as the potential biomarkers for breeding the high-FE broilers.Based on the physiological functions of these metabolites,reducing inflammatory and improving immunity were proposed to improve FE and increase production efficiency.Conclusions:According to the pipeline for the selection of the metabolite markers established in this study,it was suggested that 10 metabolites including 7-ketocholesterol,dimethyl sulfone,epsilon-(gamma-glutamyl)-lysine,gamma-glutamyltyrosine,2-oxoadipic acid,L-homoarginine,testosterone,adenosine 5'-monophosphate,adrenic acid,and calcitriol could be used as the potential biomarkers for breeding the"food-saving broilers". 展开更多

A quasi-coherent(QC)mode was observed in the core region of low-density ohmic plasmas in Sino-UNIted Spherical Tokamak.In experiments on the QC mode,two sets of moveable Langmuir probes(LPs)were used to measure the local parameters including floating potential,electron temperature,electron density,and so on,as well as their profiles.To monitor the magnetohydrodynamic activities,a Mirnov probe was used to measure the poloidal magnetic fluctuation.The QC mode can be seen in the spectra of floating potential,but there is no similar peak in the spectra of magnetic fluctuation.Thus,the QC mode is probably electrostatic.By analyzing the electrostatic potential fluctuations from the LPs,the features of the QC mode including frequency,wavenumber,propagation direction,and dependence on collisionality are identified,which are consistent with the characteristics of dissipative trapped electron mode. 展开更多

As promising electrode materials,transition metal oxides have attracted considerable attention owing to their excellent performance in electrochemical energy storage.However,their poor conductivity and fragile structure limit their practical application.In this study,a binder-free nickel oxide/oxynitride network(NiON WS)bifunctional electrodes with cation multivalent states that exhibit high energy storage performance were synthesized for the first time.The massive active sites,high specific surface areas,and multiple cation valence states of NiON WS were advantageous for electrochemical redox reaction during its application in supercapacitors(1283.5 mF cm^(-2))and lithium-ion batteries(1345.0 mA h g^(-1)).Particularly,the NiON WS based flexible asymmetric SCs exhibit excellent capacitance and energy densities.First-principle calculations were employed to study the mechanism of the electrochemical performance improvement of NiON WS.This study demonstrates the potential of transition metal oxides electrode with high capacity and activity for electrochemical energy storage and conversion. 展开更多

超声衰减成像技术评价肝脂肪变性的相关因素分析

目的探讨影响超声衰减系数(AC)变化的相关因素,并评估衰减成像(ATI)技术对非酒精性脂肪性肝病(NAFLD)定量诊断的临床实用性及测量的可重复性。方法选取2019年9月至2020年12月在哈尔滨医科大学附属第一医院使用超声的ATI技术进行肝检测的... 目的探讨影响超声衰减系数(AC)变化的相关因素,并评估衰减成像(ATI)技术对非酒精性脂肪性肝病(NAFLD)定量诊断的临床实用性及测量的可重复性。方法选取2019年9月至2020年12月在哈尔滨医科大学附属第一医院使用超声的ATI技术进行肝检测的114例受试者(NAFLD组56例,健康对照组58例),分别获得二维超声和AC,同时收集患者相应的临床资料、血生化检测指标等,通过多因素线性回归分析确定AC的独立影响因素。使用常规二维超声检查对所有研究对象的肝脂肪变性程度进行四分制评分(S0~S3组),采用方差分析检验各组间AC的差异性,使用Spearman相关分析方法评估AC与肝脂肪变性程度的相关性,并计算组内相关系数(ICC),评估2名操作者间(AC-1组和AC-2组)ATI测量的可重复性。结果多因素线性回归分析显示体质量指数(BMI)、肝脂肪变性程度是AC的独立影响因素(β=0.007,95%CI:0.001~0.013,P=0.017;β=0.083,95%CI:0.070~0.095,P<0.001)。NAFLD组AC显著高于健康对照组[AC-1组:(0.716±0.098)dB/(cm·MHz)vs(0.539±0.058)dB/(cm·MHz);AC-2组:(0.699±0.102)dB/(cm·MHz)vs(0.542±0.053)dB/(cm·MHz)],且随着肝脂肪变性程度的加重,AC逐渐升高[S0组(58例)AC为(0.539±0.058)dB/(cm·MHz),S1组(23例)AC为(0.640±0.063)dB/(cm·MHz),S2组(20例)AC为(0.718±0.050)dB/(cm·MHz),S3组(13例)AC为(0.845±0.059)dB/(cm·MHz);F=122.27,P<0.001]。AC与肝脂肪变性程度存在较强的相关性(r=0.840;P<0.001)。不同肝脂肪变性程度AC的组内相关系数(ICC)分别为0.816(95%CI:0.708~0.881)、0.886(95%CI:0.301~0.967)、0.876(95%CI:0.479~0.960)、0.939(95%CI:0.819~0.981),P均<0.001。结论AC与BMI、肝脂肪变性程度显著相关,且ATI技术的操作者间可重复性极好,结果较为稳定,有助于早期发现脂肪肝并对脂肪肝严重程度进行评估。 展开更多
