Non- governmental organizations throughout the world dispatched 400 or so representatives to the forum, the majority of which came from developing countries in Africa, Latin America and Asia. Such a large congregation of NGO representatives in Geneva to discuss the employment issue indicates in itself that civil society has become increasingly interested in this livelihood-affecting issue.展开更多

It is a very...Due to the fact that the developing countrie, are mainly located in the southern hemisphere and the south of the northern hemisphere, the cooperation among them is generally called SouthSouth Cooperation. It is a very important approach for the developing countries in pursuing unity, cooperation, deriving strength from unity, equality and common development. After the Second World War and encouraged by the movement for national independence and liberation, the developing countries as an independent political entity were very active in the international arena, increased their collective strength through South-South Cooperation, and made important contributions to maintaining world peace and promoting human progress during the cold-war period. When the cold war ended, the strategic importance of developing countries as being in the intermediate zone of competition decreased. The changing international situation and internal imbalanced development also had influence on the unity and cooperation among developing countries. Thus the process of SouthSouth Cooperation slowed down for a time.展开更多
