The title compound, trans 4 [p (N ethyl N (hydroxyethyl)amino) styryl] N methylpyridinium tetraphenylborate(abbreviated as ESMT, C 46 H 49 N 4OB) crystallizes in a space group P 1 with a =0 983 23(15) nm, b =1 410 73(16) nm, c =1 54 21(12) nm, α=95 252(13)°, β= 91 959(17)°, γ= 107 421(12)°, Z=2, F(000)=712, μ =0 1 mm -1 Mo Kα radiation, R =0 093 8. The result shows that the cation of the molecule almost lies in one plane, the hydroxyethyl group is perpendicular to the plane, the anion takes a slight distorted tetrahedral geometry. Also the thermal stability, two photon fluorescence, two photon pumped lasing property for the title compound were studied. 展开更多

Nonlinear optical properties of an organo-metallic compound[(C_(4)H_(9))_(4)N][Ni(dmit)_(2)](dmit=2−thioxo-1,3-dithiole-4,5-dithiolate),abbreviated as BuNi,dissolved in acetone,are investigated using the Z-scan technique with a 40 ps pulse width at 1064 nm and a 1 ns and 15 ns pulse width at 1053 nm.Strong saturable absorption is found when the sample solution is irradiated by 40 ps and 1 ns laser pulses.When irradiated with a 15 ns laser pulse,a stronger reverse saturable absorption is found.The nonlinear optical absorption coefficients are-1.06×10^(-11),−2.02×10^(-11) and 2.73×10^(−10) m/W,respectively.All the results suggest that BuNi may be a promising candidate in the application of laser pulse compression in the near-infrared waveband. 展开更多

The transient photoluminescence(PL)of DO-PPV(poly-(2,5-dioctyloxy-1,4-phenylene vinylene))solution in chloroform was investigated by picosecond time-resolved PL spectroscopy.An ultrafast rise of PL and the following single exponential decay with a time constant about 400ps were assigned to the formation of intrachain exciton and its decay process,respectively.The redshift of the PL emission spectrum with time was caused by the subsequent exciton migration among the different conjugated segments in the DO-PPV polymer. 展开更多
