Value and Development Countermeasures for Modern Agriculture in Suzhou

With advance of urbanization and industrialization, modern agricultural development in Chinas economic developed areas (CEDAs) is greatly restricted by traditional concept. To speed up the development of modern agriculture in CEDAs, this paper takes Suzhou City as an example from theories supporting modern agricultural development. It demonstrates agriculture in CEDAs plays an important role in adjusting supply of agricultural and sideline products, reserving rural labor employment, protecting ecological environment, increasing farmers income, and passing on agricultural culture. It contends that CEDAs should take reserving basic farmland as prerequisite; take adequate supply of primary agricultural products, protection of living environment, maintenance of agricultural landscape, and inheritance of farming culture as objectives; establish perfect modern agricultural system through firmly setting up modern agricultural value concept; increase local public finance input; increase agricultural functional value from technical and management levels, to realize increase of farmers income, promote sustainable development of agriculture, promote integrated urban and rural development, as well as harmonious development of human and nature.

Review of double mood stabilizer treatments for bipolar disorder in China

Background: Although treatment guidelines for bipolar disorder in many countries commonly include lithium carbonate joint with sodium valproate, this combination is not effective for all patients. Moreover, some adverse reactions related to this treatment, neurotoxicity and interaction with other drugs justify and call for a new reviewing of the issue. Methods: Evidence base for the interactions of combined drugs, the metabolic features, action mechanism, efficacy and side effects of these treatment combinations were reviewed. Considerable attention was given to the relationship of the mutual action of these drugs with their clinical efficacy but also their side effects. Results: The efficacy of combination therapy of lithium with valproate for treatment and prevention of mania were superior to monotherapy of lithium or valproate. Conclusion: Double mood stabilizer therapy is the best relative treatment for patients with bipolar disorder, especially mania and related episodes.

Theoretical Mechanism and Empirical Analysis of“Cold”Response to“Two-Child”Policy

Recently,the policy of relaxing the“two-child”birth control has obviously met a“cold”response,and China’s population growth is facing a huge risk of“cliff-type”decline.Using text analysis and quasi-experimental method,this paper theoretically and empirically demonstrates the change of fertility costs in urban and rural areas and its influence on fertility rate,and then on the effect of“two-child”fertility policy.The results show that,in recent years,as fertility costs change,the fertility desire of rural families has greatly reduced,while those of urban families has increased slightly,then the fertility desire of urban and rural areas declines in general.At the same time,the actual fertility rate is much lower than the desirable fertility level,so the“two-child”policy fails to achieve satisfactory results.the key to the future population policy reform in China is to draw lessons from the historical experience of developed countries and eliminate the adverse effects of changes in fertility costs through fertility incentives measures.
