The enhancement of the fluorination degree of carbon fluorides(CF_(x))compounds is the most effective method to improve the energy densities of Li/CF_(x)batteries because the specific capacity of CF_(x)is proportional...The enhancement of the fluorination degree of carbon fluorides(CF_(x))compounds is the most effective method to improve the energy densities of Li/CF_(x)batteries because the specific capacity of CF_(x)is proportional to the molar ratio of F to C atoms(F/C).In this study,B-doped graphene(BG)is prepared by using boric acid as the doping source and then the prepared BG is utilized as the starting material for the preparation of CF_(x).The B-doping enhances the F/C ratio of CF_(x)without hindering the electrochemical activity of the C–F bond.During the fluorination process,B-containing functional groups are removed from the graphene lattice.This facilitates the formation of a defect-rich graphene matrix,which not only enhances the F/C ratio due to abundant perfluorinated groups at the defective edges but also serves as the active site for extra Li+storage.The prepared CF_(x)exhibits the maximum specific capacity of 1204 mAh g^(−1),which is 39.2%higher than that of CF_(x)obtained directly from graphene oxide(without B-doping).An unprecedented energy density of 2974 Wh kg^(−1)is achieved for the asprepared CF_(x)samples,which is significantly higher than the theoretically calculated energy density of commercially available fluorinated graphite(2180 Wh kg^(−1)).Therefore,this study demonstrates a great potential of B-doping to realize the ultrahigh energy density of CF_(x)cathodes for practical applications.展开更多
SAM pointed domain containing E26 transformation-specific transcription factor(SPDEF)plays dual roles in the initiation and development of human malignancies.However,the biological role of SPDEF in head and neck squam...SAM pointed domain containing E26 transformation-specific transcription factor(SPDEF)plays dual roles in the initiation and development of human malignancies.However,the biological role of SPDEF in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma(HNSCC)remains unclear.In this study,the expression level of SPDEF and its correlation with the clinical parameters of patients with HNSCC were determined using TCGA-HNSC,GSE65858,and our own clinical cohorts.CCK8,colony formation,cell cycle analysis,and a xenograft tumor growth model were used to determine the molecular functions of SPDEF in HNSCC.ChIP-qPCR,dual luciferase reporter assay,and rescue experiments were conducted to explore the potential molecular mechanism of SPDEF in HNSCC.Compared with normal epithelial tissues,SPDEF was significantly downregulated in HNSCC tissues.Patients with HNSCC with low SPDEF mRNA levels exhibited poor clinical outcomes.Restoring SPDEF inhibited HNSCC cell viability and colony formation and induced G0/G1 cell cycle arrest,while silencing SPDEF promoted cell proliferation in vitro.The xenograft tumor growth model showed that tumors with SPDEF overexpression had slower growth rates,smaller volumes,and lower weights.SPDEF could directly bind to the promoter region of NR4A1 and promoted its transcription,inducing the suppression of AKT,MAPK,and NF-κB signaling pathways.Moreover,silencing NR4A1 blocked the suppressive effect of SPDEF in HNSCC cells.Here,we demonstrate that SPDEF acts as a tumor suppressor by transcriptionally activating NR4A1 in HNSCC.Our findings provide novel insights into the molecular mechanism of SPDEF in tumorigenesis and a novel potential therapeutic target for HNSCC.展开更多

As microorganisms affect corrosion ...Corrosion, one of the most common problems of metal pipe for water supply, generally leads to poor water quality, bacteria proliferation, water capacity decrease and other problems. As microorganisms affect corrosion by changing the characteristics of metal surface, the mechanism of microbial corrosion still remains unclear. The corrosion behavior of ductile cast iron is implemented in the dynamic flow and static conditions, in which variations of water quality and microbial community are analyzed in details. The results show that if the corrosion rate of ductile cast iron decreases, the corrosion of cast iron will result in a lower DO and a higher total iron in bulk water. The number of microorganisms is not a decisive factor of corrosion, even though the counts of bacteria had a close relationship with DO. On the basis of the detection of the 10 kinds of nitratereducing bacteria by Miseq sequencing, NRB of the biofilm biomass accounts for 18.3% on the 30 th day and 20.5% on the 55 th day. Even though aerobic NRBs go into the biofilm later than the facultative anaerobic NRBs, the growth of the anaerobic NRBs is not affected.展开更多

This study presents the structure and application of dunk tanks in high-level biosafety laboratories.The test methods and sterilization effects of dunk tanks were evaluated by using Bacillus subtilis as indicator.Resu...This study presents the structure and application of dunk tanks in high-level biosafety laboratories.The test methods and sterilization effects of dunk tanks were evaluated by using Bacillus subtilis as indicator.Results showed that sterilization effects of dunk tanks could be achieved by immersing the goods in 0.5%sodium hypochlorite disinfectant solution for 30 min at room temperature.Neutralizer sodium thiosulfate had no effect on the growth of Bacillus subtilis,and thus would not affect the disinfection results of sodium hypochlorite.Furthermore,suggestions for safe operation of dunk tanks are also provided in this study.展开更多
