Emerging excessive greenhouse gas emissions pose great threats to the ecosystem,which thus requires efficient CO_(2)capture to mitigate the disastrous issue.In this report,large molecular size bisphenol A ethoxylate diacrylate(BPA)was employed to crosslink poly(ethylene glycol)methyl ether acrylate(PEGMEA)via the green and rapid UV polymerization strategy.The microstructure of such-prepared membrane could be conveniently tailored by tuning the ratio of the two prepolymers,aiming at obtaining the optimized microstructures with suitable mesh size and PEO sol content,which was approved by a novel low-field nuclear magnetic resonance technique.The optimum membrane overcomes the tradeoff challenge:dense microstructures lower the gas permeability while loose microstructures lower high-pressure-resistance capacity,realizing a high CO_(2)permeability of 1711 Barrer and 100-h long-term running stability under 15 atm.The proposed membrane fabrication approach,hence,opens a novel gate for developing high-performance robust membranes for CO_(2)capture. 展开更多

It is taken as a novel prospective process to treat iron concentrate from hydrometallurgical zinc kiln slag forcomprehensive utilization of valuable metals by a hydrochloric acid leaching-spray pyrolysis method.The leaching mechanism ofdifferent valuable metals was studied.The results revealed that the leaching rates of Ag,Pb,Cu,Fe,As and Zn were99.91%,99.25%,95.12%,90.15%,87.58%and58.15%,respectively with6mol/L HCl and L/S ratio of10:1at60°C for120min.The actionof SiO2in leaching solution was also studied.The results showed that the precipitation and settlement of SiO2(amorphous)adsorbedpart of metal ions in solution,which greatly inhibited the leaching of Cu,Fe,As and Zn,so it is crucial to control the precipitation ofamorphous SiO2. 展开更多

AIM: To investigate the protective effect of melatonin on liver after intestinal ischemia-reperfusion injury in rats. METHODS: One hundred and fifty male Wistar rats, weighing 190-210 g, aged 7 wk, were randomly divided into melatonin exposure group, alcohol solvent control group and normal saline control group. Rats in the melatonin exposure group received intraperitoneal (IP) melatonin (20 mg/kg) 30 min before intestinal ischemia-reperfusion (IR), rats in the alcohol solvent control group received the same concentration and volume of alcohol, and rats in the normal saline control group received the same volume of normal saline. Serum samples were collected from each group 0.5, 1, 6, 12, and 24 h after intestinal IR. Levels of serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) were measured with an auto-biochemical analyzer. Serum TNF-α was tested by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Malondialdehyde (MDA) in liver was detected by colorimetric assay. Pathological changes in liver and immunohistochemical straining of ICAM-1 were observed under an optical microscope. RESULTS: The levels of ALT measured at various time points after intestinal IR in the melatonin exposure group were significantly lower than those in the other two control groups (P < 0.05). The serum AST levels 12 and 24 h after intestinal IR and the ICAM-1 levels (%) 6, 12 and 24 h after intestinal IR in the melatonin exposure group were also significantly lower than those in the other two control groups (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: Exotic melatonin can inhibit the activity of ALT, AST and TNF-α, decrease the accumulation of MDA, and depress the expression of ICAM-1 in liver after intestinal IR injury, thus improving the liver function. 展开更多

Factor value determination and applicability evaluation of universal soil loss equation in granite gneiss region

Six types of runoff plots were set up and an experimental study was carried out to examine natural rate of soil and water loss in the granite gneiss region of northern Jiangsu Province in China. Through correlation analysis of runoff and soil loss during 364 rainfall events, a simplified and convenient mathematical formula suitable for calculating the rainfall erosivity factor (R) for the local region was established. Other factors of the universal soil loss equation (USLE model) were also determined. Relative error analysis of the soil loss of various plots calculated by the USLE model on the basis of the observed values showed that the relative error ranged from -3.5% to 9.9% and the confidence level was more than 90%. In addition, the relative error was 5.64% for the terraced field and 12.36% for the sloping field in the practical application. Thus, the confidence level was above 87.64%. These results provide a scientific basis for forecasting and monitoring soil and water loss, for comprehensive management of small watersheds, and for soil and water conservation planning in the region. 展开更多

A hot-electron driven scheme can be more effective than a laser-driven scheme within suitable hot-electron energy and target density. In our one-dimensional (1D) radiation hydrodynamic simulations, 20× pressure enhancement was achieved when the ignitor laser spike was replaced with a 60-keV hot-electron spike in a shock ignition target designed for the National Ignition Facility (NIF), which can lead to greater shell velocity. Higher hot-spot pressure at the deceleration phase was obtained owing to the greater shell velocity. More cold shell material is ablated into the hot spot, and it benefits the increases of the hot-spot pressure. Higher gain and a wider ignition window can be observed in the hot-electron-driven shock ignition. 展开更多

We develop a rapid and convenient experimental method of absolutely calibrating the transmission of an x-ray flatresponse filter. The calibration experiment is performed on a small laser-target facility, and a set of high resolution holographic flat-field grating spectrometers is used as a discrimination system of the laser-produced x-ray source. Given that the holographic flat-field grating has a relatively large width, the grating is divided into two regions for use in that direction,where one region has the filter added and the other region does not. The filter transmission is determined by dividing the x-ray signal counts detected when the filter is in the line of sight by those detected when the filter is out of the line of sight.We find that the calibration results of this experiment agree with the calibration results using a synchrotron radiation source,as well as simulation results. Our method is not only highly reliable but also rapid and convenient. 展开更多

Plasma density and temperature can be diagnosed by x-ray line emission measurement with crystal,and bent crystals such as von Hamos and Hall structures are proposed to improve the diffraction brightness.In this study,a straightforward solution for the focusing schemes of flat and bent crystals is provided.Simulations with XOP code are performed to validate the analytical model,and good agreements are achieved.The von Hamos or multi-cone crystal can lead to several hundred times intensity enhancements for a 200μm plasma source.This model benefits the applications of the focusing bent crystals. 展开更多
