The Association between GLP-1 Receptor-Based Agonists and the Incidence of Asthma in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes and/or Obesity:A Meta-Analysis

Objective Recent studies have indicated potential anti-inflammatory effects of glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists(GLP-1RAs)on asthma,which is often comorbid with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)and obesity.Therefore,we conducted a meta-analysis to assess the association between the administration of glucagon-like peptide-1(GLP-1)receptor-based agonists and the incidence of asthma in patients with T2DM and/or obesity.Methods PubMed,Web of Science,Embase,the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials,and Clinicaltrial.gov were systematically searched from inception to July 2023.Randomized controlled trials(RCTs)of GLP-1 receptor-based agonists(GLP-1RA,GLP-1 based dual and triple receptor agonist)with reports of asthma events were included.Outcomes were computed as risk ratios(RR)using a fixedeffects model.Results Overall,39 RCTs with a total of 85,755 participants were included.Compared to non-GLP-1 receptor-based agonist users,a trend of reduced risk of asthma was observed in patients with T2DM or obesity using GLP-1 receptor-based agonist treatments,although the difference was not statistically significant[RR=0.91,95%confidence interval(CI):0.68 to 1.24].Further Subgroup analyses indicated that the use of light-molecular-weight GLP-1RAs might be associated with a reduced the risk of asthma when compared with non-users(RR=0.65,95%CI:0.43 to 0.99,P=0.043).We also performed sensitivity analyses for participant characteristics,study design,drug structure,duration of action,and drug subtypes.However,no significant associations were observed.Conclusion Compared with non-users,a modest reduction in the incidence of asthma was observed in patients with T2DM or obesity using GLP-1 receptor-based agonist treatments.Further investigations are warranted to assess the association between GLP-1 receptor-based agonists and the risk of asthma. 展开更多

Recent progress on valley polarization and valley-polarized topological states in two-dimensional materials

Valleytronics, using valley degree of freedom to encode, process, and store information, may find practical applications in low-power-consumption devices. Recent theoretical and experimental studies have demonstrated that twodimensional(2D) honeycomb lattice systems with inversion symmetry breaking, such as transition-metal dichalcogenides(TMDs), are ideal candidates for realizing valley polarization. In addition to the optical field, lifting the valley degeneracy of TMDs by introducing magnetism is an efficient way to manipulate the valley degree of freedom. In this paper, we first review the recent progress on valley polarization in various TMD-based systems, including magnetically doped TMDs,intrinsic TMDs with both inversion and time-reversal symmetry broken, and magnetic TMD heterostructures. When topologically nontrivial bands are empowered into valley-polarized systems, valley-polarized topological states, namely valleypolarized quantum anomalous Hall effect can be realized. Therefore, we have also reviewed the theoretical proposals for realizing valley-polarized topological states in 2D honeycomb lattices. Our paper can help readers quickly grasp the latest research developments in this field. 展开更多

The Xingnao Jieyu capsule has been shown to effectively relieve neurologic impairments and les- sen depression. It remains poorly understood whether this capsule can be used to treat post-stroke depression. Thus, in the present study, we established a rat model of post-stroke depression using left middle cerebral artery occlusions in combination of chronic unpredictable stress and solitary housing during development. Experimental rats received intragastric perfusion with 0.82, 0.41, and 0.20 g/kg Xingnao Jieyu capsules separately dissolved in 2 mL distilled water. Fluoxetine served as a positive control. The treatment was conducted over 28 days. Sugar water consumption test, open-field test, real-time fluorescent quantitative PCR and immunohistochemical staining results demonstrated that intragastric perfusion with various doses of Xingnao Jieyu capsules increased sugar water consumption, voluntary behaviors and synaptotagmin mRNA and protein expression in rats with post-stroke depression. These therapeutic effects were similar to those of fluoxetine. These results indicate that Xingnao Jieyu capsules upregulate synaptotagmin expression in hip pocampi of rats with post-stroke depression, and exert antidepressant effects. 展开更多

Increasing rainfed wheat yield by optimizing agronomic practices to consume more subsoil water in the Loess Plateau 被引量:4

Erratic rainfall and misalignment between the rainy season and the growing season of winter wheat greatly limit rainfed winter wheat yield in the Loess Plateau of China. To increase the grain yield of winter wheat in this region, the effects of different agronomic practices, including adjusting planting pattern(NR, narrow row spacing), increasing seeding rate(high seeding rate, HS), decreasing basal nitrogen rate and increasing top-dressed nitrogen rate(DBN), and replacing an old cultivar with a new cultivar(NC) on wheat yield were investigated for two consecutive years. The results showed that the current grain yield of rainfed winter wheat in the Loess Plateau could be increased to 5879–7093 kg ha^(-1) by HS, DBN and NC practices relative to the practice of high-yielding farmers(PF). The increased yield due to HS, DBN and NC was attributed to the higher number of spikes ha^(-1), 1000-grain weight, and kernels spike^(-1). Before the flowering stage, HS increased soil water consumption(SWC) in 1–3 m subsoil due to the higher plant population compared with that of PF, whereas DBN decreased SWC in the 0–2 m soil layer compared with that of PF. After the flowering stage, HS, DBN, and NC increased SWC by 8–16 mm in 2–3 m subsoil compared to PF. The water use efficiency(WUE) was increased under DBN and NC in comparison with PF.However, the WUE did not increase under HS as it had the highest evapotranspiration among the five treatments. Increasing the use of subsoil water during the late growth stage by optimizing agronomic practices or applying new cultivars with expansive roots should be the primary approach to increase rainfed winter wheat yield in this region. 展开更多

Photoinduced reactive oxygen species(ROS)-based pollutant removal is one of the ideal solutions to achieve the conversion of solar energy into chemical energy and thus to address environmental pollution.Here,earthabundant CaCO_(3)-decorated g-C_(3)N_(4)(g-C_(3)N_(4)labeled as CN,CaCO_(3)-decorated g-C_(3)N_(4)sample labeled as CN-CCO)has been constructed by a facile thermal polymerization method for safe and efficient photocatalytic NO removal.The decorated CaCO_(3)as“transit hub”extends theπbonds of CN to deviate from the planes and steers the random charge carriers,which thus provides extra active sites and expedites spatial charge separation to facilitate adsorption/activation of reactants and promote formation of ROS participating in the removal of pollutant.Furthermore,boosted generation of ROS regulates the photocatalytic NO oxidation pathway and thus increases the selectivity of products.NO prefers to be directly oxidized into final product(nitrate)rather than toxic intermediates(NO_(2)),which is well demonstrated by theoretically simulated ROS-based reaction pathways and experimental characterization.The present work promotes the degradation of pollutant and simultaneously suppresses the formation of toxic by-product,which paves the way for ROS-based pollutant removal. 展开更多

区别于在三维拓扑绝缘体引入磁性的设计思路,在二维铁磁材料中引入拓扑特性是实现量子反常霍尔效应(QAHE)的一种新途径.最近实验成功制备的二维铁磁绝缘体为实现该效应提供了新的契机.本文基于密度泛函理论的第一性原理计算,设计了一个... 区别于在三维拓扑绝缘体引入磁性的设计思路,在二维铁磁材料中引入拓扑特性是实现量子反常霍尔效应(QAHE)的一种新途径.最近实验成功制备的二维铁磁绝缘体为实现该效应提供了新的契机.本文基于密度泛函理论的第一性原理计算,设计了一个在过渡金属三元硫属化合物Cr2A2X6(其中A=Si,Ge,Sn;X=S,Se,Te)中实现QAHE的普适规则.该设计原则是,通过适当的表面修饰可将二维非拓扑的磁性绝缘体转变为量子反常霍尔体系.以硅烯修饰的Cr2Sn2Se6(Si/Cr2Sn2Se6)为例,计算发现Cr2Sn2Se6单层的居里温度可提高至92 K.具体的电子能带和拓扑性质计算发现,Si/Cr2Sn2Se6异质结存在约30 meV的拓扑非平庸带隙,即该体系中可以实现QAHE.进一步的低能有效模型分析表明,Si/Cr2Sn2Se6的拓扑特性是由Cr2A2X6六角晶格中的Cr原子贡献的.此外,还发现其他Cr2A2X6通过表面修饰也可以实现QAHE.以上研究结果证实了本文方案的普适性,其为实现高温QAHE提供了新的理论指导. 展开更多
