The Implications of Sports Rights in Building a Leading Sports Nation

As a basic human right,sports rights are increasingly recognized by the international community.The national legislation and strategic plan for building China into a leading sports nation have contributed to forming a multi-field and all-round sports rights protection system.From the perspective of proactive rights and passive rights,sports rights include the freedom to choose free from illegal interference and reflect the social rights for which the state will guarantee the resources.From the perspective of basic rights and ordinary rights,the right to equal participation,the right to sports health,and the right to education constitute the main content of sports rights as a basic right,and the right to sports culture is the concentrated expression of ordinary rights.From the perspective of individual rights and collective rights,the right to sports achievement is a concentrated reflection of the former.Meanwhile,the latter covers the protection of sports rights of vulnerable groups and the balanced development of regional sports.The strategic plan for building a leading sports nation has further clarified China’s basic obligation in safeguarding sports rights in terms of legislative policy planning,financial support,life-cycle services,sustainable development,playing the role of stakeholders and strengthening sports cooperation with other countries and regions,including Hong Kong,Macao and Taiwan.

As we review the historical process of completing the building a moderately prosperous society in all respects,the rule of law through the right to education,which has played a leading and guaranteeing role in this process,has not only made great achievements,but also set the direction and path for the development of the education system and unleashed education’s momentum in driving social development.The rule of law through the right to education has been established and developed during the great practice of reform and opening-up.After we achieve the goal of realizing all-round moderate prosperity,it is necessary to straighten out the internal mechanisms concerning its next-step development and codify educational laws in order to further promote human rights progress in China.

A Defense of the Right to Life and Health and the Thoughts on Human Rights——Six Notes on the Human Rights During the Fight Against COVID-19 Pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic,a crisis never seen before in human history,took the world by surprise,and pandemic prevention and control measures therefore become a common feature of the social and political lives of all countries,including China.Obviously,prevention and control of the pandemic is a public health issue,yet it is more than just a public health issue as it also involves state governance,diplomacy,and values,particularly human rights.The fight against COVID-19 is an extraordinary war in defense of the right to life and health,and also offers an opportunity for us to further think about,study,improve and develop human rights thought.During the battle against COVID-19,I wrote some notes on human rights that I wanted to keep for my studies.I decide to publish six of these notes in hopes of promoting discussion on the development of human rights thoughts.
