In this paper,the performance of uplink multiuser massive multiple-input multipleoutput(MIMO)system with spatial modulation over transmit-correlated Rayleigh fading channel is investigated,where a large number of antennas are deployed at the base station and linear zero-forcing(ZF)receiver is employed for detection.By taking the transmit correlation and the randomness of shadow fading in to account,the bit error rate(BER)performance of the system is analyzed.According to the performance analysis,an approximated expression of overall average BER of the system is attained.Besides,asymptotic performance is studied and the corresponding BER expression at high signal-to-noise ratio is derived.On this basis,the diversity gain of the system can be obtained for performance evaluation.Simulation results show that the derived theoretical expressions match the simulated values well,which verifies the correctness of our analysis. 展开更多

The demand for wireless spectrum and data transmission has increased dramatically with the rapid growth of deepspace exploration and communication.The satellite relay communication is an essential technique to solve the issues above.The method of combining Physical-layer Network Coding(PNC)with Continuous Phase Modulation(CPM)on relay satellites can improve communication efficiency and perform the collection and transmission of space data effectively.Partial-Response CPM(PR-CPM)signals possess excellent spectrum and power characteristics and are suitable for deep-space communications with limited bandwidth and massive data transmission.In this paper,a partial response non-coherent multi-symbol detection algorithm is proposed based on the Maximum-Likelihood principle.The proposed algorithm fully utilizes the memory properties of PR-CPM signals and makes decisions on specified symbols by observing a number of symbols each time.Simulation results indicate that the performance gain under the Bit Error Rate of 10-4 is about 2 dB when 5 symbols are inspected,compared with the case where the observation length is 3. 展开更多

Considering that perfect channel state information(CSI) is difficult to obtain in practice,energy efficiency(EE) for distributed antenna systems(DAS) based on imperfect CSI and antennas selection is investigated in Rayleigh fading channel.A novel EE that is defined as the average transmission rate divided by the total consumed power is introduced.In accordance with this definition,an adaptive power allocation(PA) scheme for DAS is proposed to maximize the EE under the maximum transmit power constraint.The solution of PA in the constrained EE optimization does exist and is unique.A practical iterative algorithm with Newton method is presented to obtain the solution of PA.The proposed scheme includes the one under perfect CSI as a special case,and it only needs large scale and statistical information.As a result,the scheme has low overhead and good robustness.The theoretical EE is also derived for performance evaluation,and simulation result shows the validity of the theoretical analysis.Moreover,EE can be enhanced by decreasing the estimation error and/or path loss exponents. 展开更多

Two optimal power control (PC) schemes under the power constraint for space-time coded multiple input multiple output systems over the flat Rayleigh fading channel with the imperfect channel state information (CSI) are presented. One is based on the minimization of a bit error rate (BER), and the other is based on the maximization of a fuzzy signal-to-noise ratio. In these schemes, different powers are allocated to individual transmit an- tennas rather than equal power in the conventional one. For the first scheme, the optimal PC procedure is developed. It is shown that the Lagrange multiplier for the constrained optimization in the power control does exist and is unique. A practical iterative algorithm based on Newton's method for finding the Lagrange multiplier is proposed. In the second scheme, some existing schemes are included, and a suboptimal PC procedure is developed by means of the asymptotic performance analysis. With this suboptimal scheme, a simple PC calculation formula is provided, and thus the calculation of the PC will be straightforward. Moreover, the suboptimal scheme has the BER performance close to the optimal scheme. Simulation results show that the two PC schemes can provide BER lower than the equal PC and antenna selection scheme under the imperfect CSI. 展开更多

The energy efficiency(EE) of distributed antenna system with quality of service(Qo S) requirement is investigated over composite Rayleigh fading channel,where the shadow fading,path loss and Rayleigh fading are all considered. Our aim is to maximize the EE which is defined as the ratio of the transmission rate to the total consumed power subject to the maximum transmit power of each remote antenna constraint and Qo S(target BER) requirement. According to the definition of EE and using the upper bound of average EE,the optimized objective function is provided. Based on this,utilizing Karush-KuhnTucker conditions and numerical calculation,a suboptimal energy efficient power allocation(PA) scheme is developed,and the closedform expression of PA coefficients is derived. The scheme may obtain the EE performance close to the existing optimal scheme. Moreover,it has relatively lower complexity than the existing scheme because only the statistic channel information and less iteration are required. Simulation results show the presented scheme is valid and can meet the target BER requirement,and the EE can be increased as target BER requirement decreases. 展开更多
