Evaluation of rehabilitation outcomes after cochlear implantation in later-implanted patients with prelingual deafness

Objective:To identify the changes in the quality of life and speech recognition ability of older pre-lingual deaf patients before and after cochlear implant surgery.Methods:A total of patients with pre-linguistic deafness who underwent unilateral cochlear implant surgery at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University from February 2012 to November 2018 were taken as the research object.The CAP scale,SIR scale,and Nijmegen cochlear implant scale were used to assess the patient's condition for the quality of life before and 2 years after the operation,and compared the postoperative and preoperative scores were compared.At the same time,the angel language training was adopted.The auditory rehabilitation system and the Chinese open speech perception assessment system were used to test the speech recognition rate of patients before and 2 years after implantation.Results:The quality of life of patients undergoing cochlear implant surgery improved two years after the operation.CAP,SIR scores and NCIQ sub-fields(basic voice perception,advanced voice perception,speech ability,self-confidence,activity ability,and social communication)were significantly improved compared with those preoperatively,and the speech recognitionrate score was also improved.There was a significant correlation between the quality of life and speech recognition of the test patients.Conclusion:Cochlear implantation has a significant effect on improving the quality of life and speech recognition ability of older pre-linguistic deaf patients.The correlation between quality of life and speech recognition still needs to be further explored.Therefore,-,quality of life and language recognition are the assessment of older pre-linguistic deafness.The rehabilitation effect of patients after cochlear implantation needs to be considered at the same time.

Chromsome and pedigree analysis of congenital malformation of external and middle ear

Objective:Using chromosome analysis of a Chinese pedigree to investigate the genetic relationship between chromosome and congenital malformation of the external and middle ear combined with pre-auricular fistula.Methods: Clinical data of all members from 3 family with congenital malformation of the external and middle ear combined with pre-auricular fistula were collected. A pedigrees chart of each family was draw Venous blood samples of all participants were taken for karyotype analysis.Results: A total of 21 members in three generations from three families were screened. Chromosomal abnormalities were detected in 9 people, including 3 patients and 6 carriers. The carriers were fathers and paternal grandparents. Structural abnormalities in chromosomes 1, 2 and 11 were identified.Conclusion:The genetic patterns of congenital malformation of the external and middle ear combined with the pre- auricular fistula in these three families are consistent with autosomal recessive inheritance. Family survey is helpful for further study of this disease.

Genetic variation of CYP2R1 gene on allergic rhinitis in hainan province

Objective: To explore the effect of gene polymorphism locus rs12794714 on allergic rhinitis in hainan province, providing reference for genetic diagnosis and prevention. Methods:From March 2017 to December 2017, 94 local patients with Allergic rhinitis in hainan and 113 healthy people who were admitted to the first affiliated hospital of hainan medical college during the physical examination in the physical examination department of hainan medical college were selected. Statistical software SPSS 25.0 was used to conduct inter-group differentiation analysis on genotypes and alleles, and P<0.05 was considered to be statistically different. Results: all the polymorphisms of rs12794714 in hainan population could be detected with the distribution frequency of aa-ag and GG in the Allergic rhinitis group of 20.2%, 46.8%and 33%, and in the control group of 18.6%, 38% and 43.4%. Codominant model, dominant model, recessive model and superdominant model validation were not statistically significant. The distribution frequencies of alleles A and G were 54% and 46% in the experimental group, 63% and 37% in the control group, with no statistical difference. Conclusion: rs12794714 single nucleotide polymorphism has no significant effect on the pathogenesis of Allergic rhinitis in hainan province.

Relationship between vitamin D binding protein gene polymorphism and allergic rhinitis in Hainan population

Objective: To explore the correlation between the genetic polymorphism of vitamin D binding protein gene (GC) and allergic rhinitis in Hainan population. Methods: 94 cases of patients with allergic rhinitis (AR) who visit a hospital between March 2017 and December 2017 and 113 cases of healthy controls specimen (HCs) were chosen for the research. We analyzed the 222016 and rs7041 polymorphism in the vitamin D-binding protein gene (GC) by snapshot method. Four kinds of hereditary models including co-dominant, dominant, recessive and super dominant were used to identify the significant SNPs by the online analysis software SNPStats. The statistical analysis was done by SPSS25.0. Results: As rs7041 polymorphisms loci is mentioned, the frequency of TT, GT and GG genotypes of in CR group and HC group is 40.4% VS 42.5%, 44.7% VS 42.5%, 14.9% VS 15%, respectively. Statistical analysis showed that there was no significant difference between the two groups. Three genotype were detected for rs222016 loci which is AG, GG and AA. The frequency of AG, GG and AA in CR group and HCs group is 44.8% VS 40.7%, 12.8% VS 25.7% and 40.4% VS 33.6%, with a P value of 0.062, which is close to significance. The frequency of allele G for rs222016 in the HC group was significantly higher than that in the CR group. Conclusion: There was no significant correlation between the polymorphism of rs7041 and the incidence of allergic rhinitis in Hainan population, and GG genotype and allele G of rs222016 loci was likely to be a protective factor from allergic rhinitis in Hainan.
