AIM: To investigate the diffusion changes in both the optic nerve and optic tract in orbital space-occupying lesion patients with decreased visual acuity, and its clinical significance using probabilistic diffusion tr...AIM: To investigate the diffusion changes in both the optic nerve and optic tract in orbital space-occupying lesion patients with decreased visual acuity, and its clinical significance using probabilistic diffusion tractography(PDT). METHODS: Twenty patients with orbital space-occupying lesions and 25 age-and gender-matched healthy persons were included. All patients and controls underwent routine orbital magnetic resonance imaging and diffusion tensor imaging(DTI), using a 3.0 T magnetic resonance scanner(Trio Tim Siemens). After the image data were preprocessed, each DTI parameters of the optic nerve and optic tract was obtained by PDT, including fractional anisotropy(FA), mean diffusivity(MD), axial diffusivity(AD) and radial diffusivity(RD). The asymmetry index(AI) of each parameter was calculated. Compared the parameters of the affected side optic nerve and ipsilateral optic tract with the contralateral side by paired sample t-test;compared AI of parameters of optic nerve and optic tract between the patient group and the control group by independent sample t-test. Patients were divided into threesubgroups according to the low vision grade standard of WHO, compared the FA and AI of FA between the three subgroups by single factor variance analysis. RESULTS: The affected side optic nerve presented significantly decreased FA, increased MD, AD, and RD values compared to the unaffected side(P<0.05). The AI of FA, MD, AD, and RD of optic nerve in the patients was significantly higher than that of the controls(P<0.05). The comparison results of the optic tract showed that there was no significant difference between the patient group and control group in terms of the bilateral optic tracts in patients(P>0.05). The AIs of the FA value of the optic nerve in the eyesight <0.1 subgroup was significantly higher than that in the other groups(P<0.05). CONCLUSION: FA, MD, AD, and RD of the affected side optic nerve of the orbital space-occupying lesions have significantly changed, the FA value is the most sensitive. The PDT could be a useful tool to provide valid quantitative markers of optic nerve injuries and evaluate the severity of orbital diseases, which other examinations cannot be acquired.展开更多

Currently, t...Fast and accurate determination of effective bentonite content in used clay bonded sand is very important for selecting the correct mixing ratio and mixing process to obtain high-performance molding sand. Currently, the effective bentonite content is determined by testing the ethylene blue absorbed in used clay bonded sand, which is usually a manual operation with some disadvantages including complicated process, long testing time and low accuracy. A rapid automatic analyzer of the effective bentonite content in used clay bonded sand was developed based on image recognition technology. The instrument consists of auto stirring, auto liquid removal, auto titration, step-rotation and image acquisition components, and processor. The principle of the image recognition method is first to decompose the color images into three-channel gray images based on the photosensitive degree difference of the light blue and dark blue in the three channels of red, green and blue, then to make the gray values subtraction calculation and gray level transformation of the gray images, and finally, to extract the outer circle light blue halo and the inner circle blue spot and calculate their area ratio. The titration process can be judged to reach the end-point while the area ratio is higher than the setting value.展开更多
A sensitive and reproducible liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) method was developed and validated for the quantification of amlodipine in human plasma, with gliclazide a...A sensitive and reproducible liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) method was developed and validated for the quantification of amlodipine in human plasma, with gliclazide as an internal standard (IS). The analyte was extracted with ethyl acetate and analyzed on a Diamond C18 (150 mm× 4.6 mm, 5 μm) column. The mobile phase was composed of methanol ?10 mM ammonium acetate with gradient flow rates and gradient conditions. Amlodipine and IS were ionized by positive ion pneumatically assisted electrospray and detected in the multi-reaction monitoring (MRM) mode using precursor→productions of m/z 409.2→238.1, 294.1 and m/z 324.2→127.3, respectively. The specificity, matrix effect, recovery, sensitivity, linearity, accuracy, precision, and stabilities were all validated over the concentration range of 0.05 - 12 ng/mL. The 90% confidence interval (CI) for AUC0-t, AUC0-∞ and Cmax ratios (test: reference) were all within 80% - 125% interval proposed by FDA. It is concluded that the validated method can successfully fulfill the requirement of clinical bioequivalence study of amlodipine in healthy Chinese subjects after administration of amlodipine/losartan combination tablets and amlodipine tablets, and the test and reference tablets were bioequivalent.展开更多

HOF-SXU-1 features a remarkable proton conductivity as high as 6.32 mS cm^(-1) and an extremely low activation energy of 0.16 eV at 160℃ under anhydrous N_(2) conditions.By contrast, under identical conditions, the organic precursors of HOF-SXU-1 only exhibit negligible proton conduction performance, demonstrating that the formation of HOF is crucial for excellent proton conduction performance.展开更多

The present study analyzed the influence of cinnamaldehyde on 1,3-β-D-glucans in the cell wall of Candida albicans in order to provide a theoretical basis for the research of antifungal drugs.Methods: An immunosuppressed BALB/c mouse model with invasive pulmonary candidiasis was established by nasal perfusion of 50 μL of C. albicans suspension(107 cfu/mL). 1,3-β-D-glucans examination and electron microscopy were carried out. Fluconazole was used as the control.Results: Cinnamaldehyde was administered at a dose of 240 mg/kg/d for 14 consecutive days, and the measured value of 1,3-β-D-glucans was(1160.62 ± 89.65) pg/mL, whereas that of fluconazole was(4285.87 ± 215.62) pg/m L. The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P 〈 0.05).Electron microscopy observation indicated that the 2-3 layers outside the cell wall of C. albicans(1,3-β-D-glucans layer) were rough, deformed, and incomplete, although the cell membrane was clear and intact.Conclusion: Cinnamaldehyde demonstrated special efficacy on 1,3-β-D-glucans in the cell wall of C. albicans.展开更多
