Gibberellin 2-oxidases(GA2ox)are important enzymes that maintain the balance of bioactive GAs in plants.GA2ox genes have been identified and characterized in many plants,but these genes were not investigated in Brassi...Gibberellin 2-oxidases(GA2ox)are important enzymes that maintain the balance of bioactive GAs in plants.GA2ox genes have been identified and characterized in many plants,but these genes were not investigated in Brassica napus.Here,we identified 31 GA2ox genes in B.napus and 15 of these BnaGA2ox genes were distributed in the A and C subgenomes.Subcellular localization predictions suggested that all BnaGA2ox proteins were localized in the cytoplasm,and gene structure analysis showed that the BnaGA2ox genes contained 2–4 exons.Phylogenetic analysis indicated that BnGA2ox family proteins in monocotyledons and dicotyledons can be divided into four groups,including two C_(19)-GA2ox and two C_(20)-GA2ox clades.Group 4 is a C_(20)-GA2ox Class discovered recently.Most BnaGA2ox genes had a syntenic relationship with AtGA2ox genes.BnaGA2ox genes in the C subgenome had experienced stronger selection pressure than genes in the A subgenome.BnaGA2ox genes were highly expressed in specific tissues such as those involved in growth and development,and most of them were mainly involved in abiotic responses,regulation of phytohormones and growth and development.Our study provided a valuable evolutionary analysis of GA2ox genes in monocotyledons and dicotyledons,as well as an insight into the biological functions of GA2ox family genes in B.napus.展开更多

Slug,a member of the Snail family of transcriptional repressors,plays a key role in cancer progression,cellular plasticity,and epithelial to mesenchymal transition(EMT).Slug is a fast-turnover protein and its stabilit...Slug,a member of the Snail family of transcriptional repressors,plays a key role in cancer progression,cellular plasticity,and epithelial to mesenchymal transition(EMT).Slug is a fast-turnover protein and its stability is controlled by post-translational modifications.Here,we identified that Slug is acetylated by acetyltransferase CREB-binding protein(CBP)in breast cancer cells.CBP directly interacts with the C-terminal domain of Slug through its catalytic histone acetyltransferase(HAT)domain,leading to acetylation of Slug at lysines 166 and 211.Analysis with acetylation-specific antibodies revealed that Slug is highly acetylated in metastatic breast cancer cells.Notably,Slug acetylation,mediated by CBP at lysines 166 and 211,doubles its halflife and increases its stability.Further,acetylated Slug downregulates the expression of E-cadherin,the epithelial marker,and upregulates the expression of N-cadherin and vimentin,thereby promoting breast cancer cell migration.In conclusion,the present study demonstrates that CBP-mediated Slug acetylation increases its stability,promoting EMT and migration of breast cancer cells.展开更多
The capability of obtaining spatially distrib- uted air temperature data from remote sensing measure- ments is an improvement for many environmental applications focused on urban heat island, carbon emis-sions, climat...The capability of obtaining spatially distrib- uted air temperature data from remote sensing measure- ments is an improvement for many environmental applications focused on urban heat island, carbon emis-sions, climate change, etc. This paper is based on the MODIS/Terra and Aqua data utilized to study the effect of the urban atmospheric heat island in Shanghai, China. The correlation between retrieved MODIS land surface tem- perature (LST) and air temperature measured at local weather stations was initially studied at different temporal and spatial scales. Secondly, the air temperature data with spatial resolutions of 250 m and 1 km were estimated from MODIS LST data and in-situ measured air temperature. The results showed that there is a slightly higher correlation between air temperature and MODIS LST at a 250 m resolution in spring and autumn on an annual scale than observed at a I km resolution. Although the distribution pattern of the air temperature thermal field varies in different seasons, the urban heat island (UHI) in Shanghai is characterized by a distribution pattern of multiple centers, with the central urban area as the primary center and the built-up regions in each district as the sub- centers. This study demonstrates the potential not only for estimating the distribution of the air temperature thermal field from MODIS LST with 250 m resolution in spring and autumn in Shanghai, but also for providing scientific and effective methods for monitoring and studying UHI effect in a Chinese mega-city such as Shanghai.展开更多
