Cutting Propagation Technique of Pennisetum purpureum Schum

[Objectives]The paper was to study the cutting propagation technique of Pennisetum purpureum Schum and to provide a technical reference for establishing an efficient cutting propagation method.[Methods]Six treatments were set up using P.purpureum cv.Guiminyin and P.purpureum cv.Guimu-1 as test materials,including 1-node oblique insertion,1-node oblique insertion+rooting powder,1-node transverse burial,2-node oblique insertion,2-node oblique insertion+rooting powder and 2-node transverse burial.The following indices were observed and determined for P.purpureum cuttings:emergence rate,rooting rate,root number,longest root length,fresh root weight,plant height,number of tillers,number of leaves,and fresh stem and leaf weight.[Results]In the 2-node cutting+rooting powder treatment,Guiminyin and Guimu-1 exhibited the highest survival rate,root growth indices,and stem and leaf growth indices,with the emergence rates of 94.29%and 90.26%,respectively.The 2-node cutting treatment followed closely behind,while the 1-node cutting treatment had the lowest indices.Under the same treatment,Guimuyin exhibited higher mean values for plant height,number of leaves,fresh stem and leaf weight,longest root length,and fresh root weight compared to Guimu-1.However,it had lower mean number of tillers,and emergence rate and rooting rate of the 1-node cutting treatment compared to Guimu-1.[Conclusions]The P.purpureum cuttings thrived in the 2-node cutting+rooting powder treatment,and the overall cutting effect of Guiminyin was superior to that of Guimu-1. 展开更多

Metal additive manufacturing(MAM)is an emerging and disruptive technology that builds three-dimensional(3D)components by adding layer-upon-layer of metallic materials.The complex cyclic thermal history and highly localized energy can produce large temperature gradients,which will,in turn,lead to compressive and tensile stress during the MAM process and eventually result in residual stress.Being an issue of great concern,residual stress,which can cause distortion,delamination,cracking,etc.,is considered a key mechanical quantity that affects the manufacturing quality and service performance of MAM parts.In this review paper,the ongoing work in the field of residual stress determination and control for MAM is described with a particular emphasis on the experimental measurement/control methods and numerical models.We also provide insight on what still requires to be achieved and the research opportunities and challenges. 展开更多

目的探究延续性护理对人工髋关节置换术患者功能恢复的影响。方法选取我院2017年2月~2018年10月收治的行人工髋关节置换术患者110例,采用随机数表法分为对照组(55例)和观察组(55例)。对照组患者采用常规护理,观察组患者在此基础上实施... 目的探究延续性护理对人工髋关节置换术患者功能恢复的影响。方法选取我院2017年2月~2018年10月收治的行人工髋关节置换术患者110例,采用随机数表法分为对照组(55例)和观察组(55例)。对照组患者采用常规护理,观察组患者在此基础上实施延续性护理。随访6个月后,对比两组患者锻炼依从性、髋关节功能恢复情况及并发症。结果干预后,观察组锻炼依从性、髋关节功能恢复优良率均高于对照组,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05);观察组并发症发生率低于对照组,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。结论延续性护理能提高人工髋关节置换术患者锻炼依从性,从而改善髋关节功能恢复效果,减少并发症,安全有效。 展开更多

Formation of L1_(0)-FeNi hard magnetic material from FeNi-based amorphous alloys

L1_(0)-FeNi hard magnetic alloy with coercivity reaching 861 Oe was synthesized through annealing Fe_(42)Ni_(41.3)Si_8 B_(4)P_(4)Cu_(0.7)amorphous alloy,and the L1_(0)-FeNi formation mechanism has been studied.It is found the L1_(0)-FeNi in annealed samples at 400℃mainly originated from the residual amorphous phase during the second stage of crystallization which could take place over 600 C lower than the measured onset temperature of the second stage with a50 C/min heating rate.Annealing at 4000 C after fully crystallization still caused a slight increase of coercivity,which was probably contributed by the limited transformation from other high temperature crystalline phases towards L1_(0)phase,or the removal of B from L1_(0)lattice and improvement of the ordering quality of L1_(0)phase due to the reduced temperature from520℃to 400℃.The first stage of crystallization has hardly direct contribution to L1_(0)-FeNi formation.Ab initio simulations show that the addition of Si or Co in L1_(0)-FeNi has the effect of enhancing the thermal stability of L1_(0)phase without seriously deteriorating its magnetic hardness.The non-monotonic feature of direction dependent coercivity in ribbon segments resulted from the combination of domain wall pinning and demagnetization effects.The approaches of synthesizing L1_(0)-FeNi magnets by adding Si or Co and decreasing the onset crystallization temperature have been discussed in detail. 展开更多

Excessive and uncontrollable inflammatory responses in alveoli can dramatically exacerbate pulmonary disease progressions through vigorous cytokine releases,immune cell infiltration and protease-driven tissue damages.It is an urgent need to explore potential drug strategies for mitigating lung inflammation.Protease-activated receptor 2(PAR2)as a vital molecular target principally participates in various inflammatory diseases via intracellular signal transduction.However,it has been rarely reported about the role of PAR2 in lung inflammation.This study applied CRISPR-Cas9 system encoding Cas9 and sg RNA(p Cas9-PAR2)for PAR2 knockout and fabricated an anionic human serum albuminbased nanoparticles to deliver p Cas9-PAR2 with superior inflammation-targeting efficiency and stability(TAP/p Cas9-PAR2).TAP/p Cas9-PAR2 robustly facilitated p Cas9-PAR2 to enter and transfect inflammatory cells,eliciting precise gene editing of PAR2 in vitro and in vivo.Importantly,PAR2 deficiency by TAP/p Cas9-PAR2 effectively and safely promoted macrophage polarization,suppressed proinflammatory cytokine releases and alleviated acute lung inflammation,uncovering a novel value of PAR2.It also revealed that PAR2-mediated pulmonary inflammation prevented by TAP/p Cas9-PAR2was mainly dependent on ERK-mediated NLRP3/IL-1β and NO/i NOS signalling.Therefore,this work indicated PAR2 as a novel target for lung inflammation and provided a potential nanodrug strategy for PAR2 deficiency in treating inflammatory diseases. 展开更多

In atherosclerosis,chronic inflammatory processes in local diseased areas may lead to the accumulation of reactive oxygen species(ROS).In this study,we devised a highly sensitive H_(2)O_(2)-scavenging nanobionic system loaded with probucol(RPP-PU),to treat atherosclerosis more effectively.The RPP material had high sensitivity to H_(2)O_(2),and the response sensitivity could be reduced from 40 to 10μmol/L which was close to the lowest concentration of H_(2)O_(2)levels of the pathological environment.RPP-PU delayed the release and prolonged the duration of PU in vivo.In Apolipoprotein E deficient(ApoE-/-)mice,RPP-PU effectively eliminated pathological ROS,reduced the level of lipids and related metabolic enzymes,and significantly decreased the area of vascular plaques and fibers.Our study demonstrated that the H_(2)O_(2)-scavenging nanobionic system could scavenge the abundant ROS in the atherosclerosis lesion,thereby reducing the oxidative stress for treating atherosclerosis and thus achieve the therapeutic goals with atherosclerosis more desirably. 展开更多

Different types of pores ubiquitously form in cell membranes,leading to various types of cell death that profoundly influence the fate of inflammation and the disease status.However,these pores have never truly been visualized to date.Atomic force microscopy(AFM),which is emerging as a powerful tool to analyze the mechanical properties of biomolecules and cells,is actually an excellent imaging platform that allows biological samples to be visualized by probing surface roughness at the level of atomic resolution.Here,membrane pore structures were clearly visualized using AFM.This visualization not only describes the aperture and depth of the pore complexes but also highlights differences among the pores formed by perforin and gasdermins in tumor cell membranes and by complement in immune cell membranes.Additionally,this type of visualization also reveals the dynamic process of pore formation,fusion,and repair. 展开更多

The successful treatment of limb ischemia requires that promote angiogenesis along with microenvironment improvement.Zinc ions have been reported to stimulate angiogenesis,but application was limited to the toxicity concerns.We hypothesized that zinc based metal-EGCG capsule(EGCG/Zn Ps)can achieve sustained release Zn2+resulting in reduced toxicity and improve angiogenesis as well as the improvement of microenvironment by ROS scavenging of EGCG.The surface morphology,zeta potential,infrared absorbance peaks and zinc ion release profile of the EGCG/Zn Ps were measured.In vitro,EGCG/Zn showed significantly antioxidant,antiinflammatory and induced cell migration effect.In addition,EGCG/Zn Ps enabled the sustained release of zinc ions,which reduced cytotoxicity and enhanced the secretion of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)in vitro and in vivo.In mouse models of limb ischemia,EGCG/Zn Ps promoted angiogenesis and cell proliferation in ischemic tissues.Moreover,EGCG/Zn Ps group exhibited the most significant recovery of limb ischemic score,limb temperature and blood flow than other groups.In conclusion,EGCG/Zn Ps is a safe and promising approach to combine the merit of Zn2+and EGCG,thus enabling the direct application to limb ischemia. 展开更多

Compared with paclitaxel,sirolimus has been more used in the treatment of vascular restenosis gradually as an anti-proliferative drug,but few basic studies have elucidated its mechanism.The anti-proliferative effects of sirolimus or paclitaxel have been demonstrated by numerous studies under normoxia,but few studies have been achieved focusing hypoxia.In this study,porcine carotid artery injury model and classical cobalt chloride hypoxia cell model were established.Sirolimus nanoparticles(SRM-NPs),paclitaxel nanoparticles(PTX-NPs)and blank nanoparticles(Blank-NPs)were prepared respectively.The effect of RPM-NPs on the degree of stenosis,proliferative index and the expression of PCNA after 28 days of porcine carotid artery injury model was evaluated.Compared with saline group and SRM groups,SRM-NPs group suppressed vascular stenosis,proliferative index and the expression of PCNA(P<0.01 and P<0.05).Endothelial cell(EC)and smooth muscle cell(SMC)were pre-treated with cobaltous chloride,followed by SRM-NPs,PTX-NPs,Blank-NPs or PBS control treating,the effects on cell proliferation,HIF-1 expression and glycolysis were detected.SRM-NPs could inhibit EC and SMC proliferation under hypoxia,while PTX-NPs couldn't(P<0.001).Significant differences between sirolimus and paclitaxel NPs in anti-proliferation effect under normoxia and hypoxia may due to the different inhibitory effects on HIF-1αexpression and glycolysis.In conclusion,these results suggest that sirolimus can inhibit the proliferation of hypoxic cells more effectively than paclitaxel.These observations may provide a basis for understanding clinical vascular stenosis therapeutic differences between rapamycin and paclitaxel. 展开更多

Peritoneal adhesion is the most common adverse effect following abdominal surgery or inflammation.The occurrence in clinical trials has been successfully reduced using barriers.However,the shortcomings of frequently used adhesion barriers,such as rapid degradation rate of gel barrier and inadequate operation ability of solid barrier,cannot be ignored.In this study,a fibrous membrane with an ECM-like structure was prepared.The adhesion properties were reduced significantly by changing the surface structure.The fibrous membrane caused less inflammatory response and much less peripheral adhesion and intestinal obstruction compared to the casting film and the commercial film with smooth surface,though with the same components.Because of the auto-soft bionic structure and similarity in the mechanical modulus of the tissues,the fibrous membrane was more flexible when it adhered to the tissues,showed excellent effectiveness and biocompatibility.In addition to the rat and miniature pig models,a randomized,placebo-controlled,and multicenter clinical pilot study with 150 patients confirmed that because of its flexibility,biodegradability,and similarity to mechanical modulus and structure with tissues involved,the fibrous membrane served as a favorable implant for preventing post-operation adhesion. 展开更多

The underlying structural origin of magnetic properties is still elusive in Fe-based amorphous alloys.In this study,distinctive soft magnetic properties were developed in Fe_(76)Si_(9)B_(10)P_(5)amorphous ribbons through systematic design of annealing process.Combining with synchrotron radiation,high-resolution transmission electron microscopy and first principle ab initio molecular dynamic simulation,it is found that the atomic structural evolution both in short range order and medium range order is responsible for the magnetic softness at proper annealing temperature.In short range,formation of separated and densely coordinated Fe-metalloid clusters is instigated to adapt energy minimization,resulting in strengthening of ferromagnetic exchange interaction locally.In medium range,a homogeneous exchangecoupling from the uniformly strong and weak ferromagnetic regions is generated,which significantly weakens magnetic heterogeneity and leads to the excellent magnetic softness.Our findings may provide an effective/promising pathway to modulate the magnetic properties for Fe-based amorphous alloys,and give a comprehensive and quantitative understanding of the structure-properties relationship in amorphous materials. 展开更多

Discrete Global Grid System(DGGS)is a new multi-resolution geospatial data modeling and processing scheme for the digital earth.The icosahedron is commonly regarded as an ideal polyhedron for constructing DGGSs with small distortions;however,the shape of its face is triangular,making it difficult to incorporate the matrix structure used for geospatial data storage and parallel computing.To overcome this limitation,this study utilizes the rhombic triacontahedron(RT)as the basic polyhedron to construct DGGSs.An equal-area projection between the surface of RT and the sphere is developed and used to design a grid-generation algorithm for the aperture 4 hexagonal DGGS based on RT.Compared with the equal-area DGGS based on the icosahedron,the proposed scheme results in smaller angular projection distortions,with the mean and standard deviation decreasing by 41.6%and 30.9%,respectively.The grid cells of the RT DGGS also achieve more optimized geometric characteristics in shape compactness,length deviation,and angle deviation than those in the icosahedron DGGS.Additionally,the cross-surface computation efficiency provides advantages in code conversion to latitude and longitude and proximity queries.Furthermore,the use of RT offers a new and better framework within the context of DGGS research and application. 展开更多

The conventional fabrication process for single-crystal nickel-based superalloy materials is directional solidifica-tion,which is classified as casting.With the rapid development of additive manufacturing(AM)technologies,a novel process for fabricating single-crystal superalloys has become possible.This article reviews recent research on the AM of single-crystal nickel-based superalloys.Laser AM technologies,particularly directed energy deposition,are mainly used to repair single-crystal materials.Electron beam powder bed fusion is an innovative method for the direct fabrication of single-crystal materials.Accordingly,the mechanisms of single-crystal formation during AM are analyzed to elucidate the potential of this process route.Furthermore,this article discusses the challenges faced by AM for single-crystal fabrication,and provides perspectives on the trends of future developments. 展开更多

The inessential heavy metal/loids cadmium(Cd)and arsenic(As),which often co-occur in polluted paddy soils,are toxic to rice.Silicon(Si)treatment is known to reduce Cd and As toxicity in rice plants.To better understand the shared mechanisms by which Si alleviates Cd and As stress,rice seedlings were hydroponically exposed to Cd or As,then treated with Si.The addition of Si significantly ameliorated the inhibitory effects of Cd and As on rice seedling growth.Si supplementation decreased Cd and As translocation from roots to shoots,and significantly reduced Cd-and As-induced reactive oxygen species generation in rice seedlings.Transcriptomics analyses were conducted to elucidate molecular mechanisms underlying the Si-mediated response to Cd or As stress in rice.The expression patterns of the differentially expressed genes in Cd-or As-stressed rice roots with and without Si application were compared.The transcriptomes of the Cd-and As-stressed rice roots were similarly and profoundly reshaped by Si application,suggesting that Si may play a fundamental,active role in plant defense against heavy metal/loid stresses by modulating whole genome expression.We also identified two novel genes,0s01g0524500 and 0s06g0514800,encoding a myeloblastosis(MYB)transcription factor and a thionin,respectively,which may be candidate targets for Si to alleviate Cd and As stress in rice,as well as for the generation of Cd-and/or As-resistant plants.This study provides valuable resources for further clarification of the shared molecular mechanisms underlying the Si-mediated alleviation of Cd and As toxicity in rice. 展开更多

Virus-inspired nanoparticles as versatile antibacterial carriers for antibiotic delivery against Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria

Infectious diseases become one of the leading causes of human death. Traditional treatment based on classical antibiotics could not provide enough antibacterial activity to combat bacterial infections due to low bioavailability, even leading to antibiotic resistance. In recent years, biomimetic delivery systems have been developed to improve drug therapy for various diseases, such as malignant tumor and cardiovascular disease. In this work, we designed virus-inspired nanodrugs(VNDs) through co-assembly of amphiphilic lipopeptide dendrons and poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) polymers for high-efficiency antibiotic delivery. These VNDs had well-defined and stable nanostructures for tetracycline encapsulation and delivery. The VNDs were capable of promoting antibiotic internalization and enhancing their antibacterial effects against Gram-negative Escherichia coli and Gram-positive Staphylococcus aureus. Additionally, no obvious cytotoxicity of VNDs was observed to human cell lines. This work successfully demonstrated the virus-mimetic nanoparticles served as promising and applicable antibiotic delivery platform for antibacterial treatment. 展开更多

Silicon(Si)has been shown to alleviate Cd stress in rice.Here,we investigated the beneficial effects of foliar Si in an indica rice Huanghuazhan(HHZ).Our results showed that foliar Si in-creases the dry weight and decreases Cd translocation in Cd-exposed rice at the grain-filling stage only,implying that the filling stage is critical for foliar Si to reduce Cd accumulation.We also investigated the transcriptomics in flag leaves(FLs),spikelets(SPs),and node Is(NIs)of Cd-exposed HHZ after foliar Si application at the filling stage.Importantly,the gene expression profiles associated with the Si-mediated alleviation of Cd stress were tissue spe-cific,while shared pathways were mediated by Si in Cd-exposed rice tissues.Furthermore,after the Si treatment of Cd-exposed rice,the ATP-binding cassette(ABC)-transporters were mostly upregulated in FL and SP,while the bivalent cation transporters were mostly down-regulated in FL and NI,possibly helping to reduce Cd accumulation.The genes associated with essential nutrient transporters,carbohydrate and secondary metabolite biosynthesis,and cytochrome oxidase activity were mostly upregulated in Cd-exposed FL and SP,which may help to alleviate oxidative stress and improve plant growth under Cd exposure.Inter-estingly,genes responsible for signal transduction were negatively regulated in FL,but pos-itively regulated in SP,by foliar Si.Our results provide transcriptomic evidence that foliar Si plays an active role in alleviating the effects of Cd exposure in rice.In particular,foliar Si may alter the expression pattern of genes associated with transport,biosynthesis and metabolism,and oxidation reduction. 展开更多
