Relationship between Air Pollution Index (API) and Crowd Health in Nanchang City

Objective: To explore the effect of Air Pollution Index (API) on people’s health. Methods: The data on air pollution index (API), NO<sub>2</sub>, SO<sub>2</sub> and PM<sub>10</sub> were based on the everyday monitoring information from environmental monitoring station of Nanchang City. The everyday outpatient service diseases information of 2005 related to air pollution from some First Level Hospitals in Nanchang city was collected, and was summarized and analyzed by statistics software of Excel 2003 and SPSS11.5. Results: The average concentrations of NO<sub>2</sub>, SO<sub>2</sub> and PM<sub>10</sub> in the air of Nanchang city from 2006-2009 were 19.70 ± 8.56 μg/m<sup>3</sup>, 44.60 ± 10.45 μg/m<sup>3</sup>, 62.30 ± 19.76 μg/m<sup>3</sup> respectively. Tight relationship was detected between NO<sub>2</sub>, SO<sub>2</sub> and PM<sub>10</sub>. Air pollution index (API) can better reflect the air pollution status of Nanchang city. There were positive correlations between API and number of outpatient service diseases, including cardiovascular disease, respiratory disease, ophthalmology disease and ear-nose-throat (ENT) disease in Nanchang city. Conclusion API was related to the number of outpatient service relative diseases. 展开更多

Objective: Data on the clinical activity of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) in patients with non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and uncommon EGFR mutations remain insufficient. This study aimed to investigate the effect of first-line EGFR-TKIs or platinum-based chemotherapy in NSCLC patients with uncommon EGFR mutations. Methods: We retrospectively enrolled 504 patients with EGFR-mutant NSCLC. The clinical characteristics and treatment outcomes were collected and compared between patients with common and uncommon EGFR-mutant NSCLC. Results: Seventy patients (13.9%) harboring uncommon EGFR mutations were included. Thirty of these patients received EGFR-TKIs and 40 received platinum-based chemotherapy as first-line therapy. The objective response rate (ORR) and median progression-free survival (mPFS) of patients treated with TKIs in the uncommon mutation group was significantly inferior to that in the common mutation group (ORR: 23.3% vs. 51.8%, P=0.003; mPFS: 7.1 vs. 10.9 months, P〈0.001). In the uncommon group, mPFS was similar between first-line EGFR-TKIs treatment and platinum-based chemotherapy (7.1 vs. 6.1 months, P=0.893). In patients with EGFR G719X or L861Q mutations, the mPFS was longer in the first-line EGFR-TKIs treatment group than in the chemotherapy group, but the difference was not statistically significant (G719X: 8.2 vs. 5.8 months, P=0.061; L861Q: 7.6 vs. 4.1 months, P=0.872). Multivariate analyses identified adenocarcinoma (P=0.003) as the independent predictive factor for PFS in patients with uncommon EGFR mutations who were treated with first-line EGFR-TKIs. Conclusions: The current study demonstrated that the effect of first-line EGFR-TKIs was similar to that of platinum-based chemotherapy in patients with uncommon EGFR-mutant NSCLC. Adenocarcinoma was the independent predictive factor for PFS in uncommon EGFR-mutant NSCLC patients treated with first-line EGFR- TKIs. 展开更多

Introduced a method of synthesizing hierarchical EU-1 zeolite with organosilanes as additive, and studied the influences of following different kinds of organosilanes on the synthesis of hierarchical EU-1 zeolite: γ-glycidoxy propyl trimethoxy silane(GPTMS), N-β-(aminoethyl)-γ-aminopropyl methyl dimethoxyl silane(APAEDMS),and N-(β-aminoethyl)-γ-aminopropyl dimethoxyl(ethyoxyl) silane(TMPED). The hierarchical EU-1 samples were characterized by XRD, SEM, N_2 adsorption, FT-IR and NH_3-TPD to analyze the crystallinity, morphology, surface area, pore size distribution and acidity. The results showed that hierarchical EU-1 zeolites were successfully synthesized; organosilanes have great influence on crystal morphology of EU-1 zeolites; the exterior surface area of hierarchical EU-1 zeolite, which synthesized with organosilanes(APAEDMS) adding into synthesis system, increased by 62.1% and mesopore volume increased by 129.1% compared with conventional EU-1 zeolites, thus can reduce the diffusional restriction markedly in catalytic reaction. The catalytic performance of hierarchical EU-1zeolites were evaluated in m-xylene isomerization on fixed bed reactor. The catalytic data showed that the isomerization activity PX/X of the hierarchical EU-1 zeolites reached around 24.09% in theoretical thermodynamic equilibrium from 23.83%, and the selectivity of C_8 aromatic hydrocarbon increased from 75.16% to 84.87%. The conversion of p-xylene increased from 16.30% to 18.41%. 展开更多

Poyang Lake Migratory Bird Sanctuary includes Bang Lake, Sha Lake, Dahu Lake, and estuaries of the Xiu and Gan Rivers in the Migratory Bird Natural Reserve. Water samples were collected and analyzed to study spatial and temporal water quality variation. Strong seasonal variation of water quality was found. The water quality of Bang Lake was relatively poor compared to Sha and Dahu Lakes in the wet season, but better in the normal season. During the dry season, the water quality of Bang Lake is negatively affected by the activity of migratory birds. According to the correlation analysis of monthly concentrations of each parameter, the concentrations of COD, NH?-4–N, and NO3–N were highly correlated. The correlation index was 0.829 and significance index was0.042 \ 0.05. From north to south within Bang Lake, the concentration of TN decreased; however, the concentration of Chl-a increased. From east to west within Bang Lake,concentrations of COD, NH?4–N, NO-3–N, and Chl-a increased. The Xiu and Gan Rivers influence the water quality of Bang Lake, especially in the northeast area of the lake. The water quality of Bang Lake only reached Chinese water quality standard level IV or V according to a fuzzy comprehensive evaluation. The evaluation factors impacting Bang Lake are TN[TP[NH?4–N[COD, in order of decreasing importance. The waters of Poyang Lake Migratory Bird Sanctuary have been polluted; one of the important contributing factors was migratory birds' disturbance and feces. 展开更多

EU-1 zeolites were sequentially treated with low-concentration sodium carbonate(Na_2CO_3) and hydrochloric acid(HCl) solutions.The obtained samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),N_2 adsorption/desorption,temperature programmed desorption of NH_3(NH_3-TPD),solid state^(27)A1 nuclear magnetic resonance(^(27)A1 NMR),and the catalytic performances of the treated samples were tested in the xylene isomerization reaction.The results showed that the external surface area and mesoporous volume of the sample sequentially treated with 0.05 mol·L^(-1) Na_2CO_3 and 0.1 mol·L^(-1) HCl solutions reached73.9 m^2·g^(-1) and 0.162 cm^3·g^(-1),respectively.The catalytic performances of EU-1 zeolites were significantly improved,that the activity of the probe reaction increased from 23.03%to 23.61%and the selectivity increased from85.09%to 87.14%compared with those of parent sample.Furthermore,it was found that only amorphous silica and alumina species was dissolved during the post-treatment process,but the framework structure and the acidic properties of EU-1 zeolite remained intact. 展开更多
