A new approach for high fidelity seismic data recovery by fractal interpolation

Recovering accurate data is important for both earthquake and exploration seismology studies when data are sparsely sampled or partially missing. We present a method that allows for precise and accurate recovery of seismic data using a localized fractal recovery method. This method requires that the data are self- similar on local and global spatial scales. We present examples that show that the intrinsic structure associated with seismic data can be easily and accurately recovered by using this approach. This result, in turn, indicates that seismic data are indeed self-similar on local and global scales. This method is applicable not only for seismic studies, but also for any field studies that require accurate recovery of data from sparsely sampled datasets with partially missing data. Our ability to recover the missing data with high fidelity and accuracy will qualitatively improve the images of seismic tomography. 展开更多

Research and Application of Micromotional Exploration in the Middle-Lower Yangtze Metallogenic Belt of China

Micromotional exploration can use the surface wave information of micro motion to study the shallow structure of underground media. In this study, we collected microtremor data at 68 stations in the Middle-Lower Yangtze Metallogenic Belt (MLYMB) and determined the resonant frequency and obtained the distribution of sedimentary thickness in this area by using H/V spectral ratio. According to the results of H/V, the sedimentary layer in the basin is thick, and the predominant frequency of the basin is 0.05</span><span style="font-family:""> </span><span style="font-family:Verdana;">-</span><span style="font-family:""> </span><span style="font-family:Verdana;">0.1</span><span style="font-family:""> </span><span style="font-family:Verdana;">Hz. There are no obvious lateral changes in the impedance interface between bedrock and sedimentary layer in this area. The basement of Tongling, Anqing and Luzhou mining areas and their adjacent areas is Kongling-Dongling type basement, which is composed of a set of metamorphic core complex. The predominant frequency is 0.05</span><span style="font-family:""> </span><span style="font-family:Verdana;">-</span><span style="font-family:""> </span><span style="font-family:Verdana;">0.1</span><span style="font-family:""> </span><span style="font-family:Verdana;">Hz. The sedimentary thickness gradually thinned from 3800</span><span style="font-family:""> </span><span style="font-family:Verdana;">m in the west to 2100</span><span style="font-family:""> </span><span style="font-family:Verdana;">m in the East. Moreover, this article used SPAC (spatial autocorrelation) method to obtain the S-wave velocity structure of the mining area near Luzong. The SPAC method reveals that the depth of the interface between the loose sediments and the volcanic rocks is about 600 m in the study area near the Luzhou mining area in the Middle-Lower Yangtze Metallogenic Belt, and the average depth of the interface between the volcanic rock section and the intrusive complex section is about 1000</span><span style="font-family:""> </span><span style="font-family:Verdana;">m. The thickness of the intrusive rock is more than 2500</span><span style="font-family:""> </span><span style="font-family:Verdana;">m. This paper applies the convolutional differentiator method, based on generalized Forsyte orthogonal polynomial (CFPD), to simulate the seismic wave propagation in two-phase media. From the numerical results we can see that three types of waves, fast P-waves, S-waves and slow P-waves, can be observed in the seismic wave field. The experiments on anisotropic models demonstrate that the wavefront is elliptic instead of circular and S-wave splitting occurs in anisotropic two-phase media. The research has confirmed that the rules of elastic wave propagation in fluid-saturated porous media are controlled by Biot's theory. Experiment on a layered fault model shows the wavefield generated by the interface and the fault very well, indicating the effectiveness of CFPD method on the wavefield modeling for real layered media in the Earth. This research has potential applications to the investigation of Earth's deep structure and oil/gas exploration. 展开更多

Aiming at the problem that the mathematical expressions in unstructured text fields of documents are hard to be extracted automatically, rapidly and effectively, a method based on Hidden Markov Model (HMM) is proposed. Firstly, this method trained the HMM model through employing the symbol combination features of mathematical expressions. Then, some preprocessing works such as removing labels and filtering words were carried out. Finally, the preprocessed text was converted into an observation sequence as the input of the HMM model to determine which is the mathematical expression and extracts it. The experimental results show that the proposed method can effectively extract the mathematical expressions from the text fields of documents, and also has the relatively high accuracy rate and recall rate. 展开更多

An Improved Indexing and Matching Method for Mathematical Expressions Based on Inter-Relevant Successive Tree

In recent years, a growing number of math contents are available on the Web. When conventional search engines deal with mathematical expressions, the two-dimen- sion-al structure of mathematical expressions is lost, which results in a low performance of math retrieval. While the retrieval technology specifically designed for mathematical expressions is not mature currently. Aiming at these problems, an improved mathematical expression indexing and matching method was proposed through employing full text index method to deal with the two-dimensional structure of mathematical expressions. Firstly, through the fully consideration of LaTeX formulae’ characteristics, a feature representation method of mathematical expressions and a clustering method of feature keywords were put forward. Then, an improved inter-relevant successive trees index model was applied to the construction of the mathematical expression index, in which the cluster algorithm of mathematical expression features was employed to solve the problem of the quantity growth of the trees in processing large amount of formulae. Finally, the matching algorithms of mathematical expressions were given which provide four query modes called exact matching, compatible matching, sub-expression matching and fuzzy matching. In browser/server mode, 110027 formulae were used as experimental samples. The index file size was 29.02 Mb. The average time of retrieval was 1.092 seconds. Radial Anisotropy in the Crust beneath the Northeastern Tibetan Plateau from Ambient Noise Tomography 被引量:2

Through analysis of Rayleigh wave and Love wave Green's functions estimated from ambient noise tomography, we obtain radial anisotropy and shear wave velocity structure beneath the northeastern Tibetan Plateau. With two hundred and twenty three broadband seismic stations deployed by China Earthquake Administration, a collaborative seismic experiment of northern Tibet(ACSENT) experiment and northeastern Tibet seismic(NETS) experiment provide the unprecedented opportunity to resolve the spatial distribution of the radial anisotropy within the crust of the northeastern Tibetan Plateau. Discrepancies between Love(sh) and Rayleigh(sv) wave velocities show complex anisotropic patterns associated with the dynamic processes of the collision between the Indian and Eurasian plates:(1) In the upper crust, V(sv)〉V(sh) anisotropy is dominant throughout the study area which probably reflects fossil microcracks induced by the uplift, folding and erosion geodynamic processes;(2) in the middle crust, V(sh)〉V(sv) observed beneath the Songpan-Ganzi terrane and the northwestern Qilian orogen correlates well with a mid-crustal low velocity zone(LVZ);(3) at depths deeper than 40 km, V(sh)〉V(sv) is still found in the Songpan-Ganzi terrane. This anisotropy could be caused by the sub-horizontal alignment of anisotropic minerals that has followed the collision between India and Eurasia. However, the northwestern Qilian orogen is associated with V(sv)〉V(sh) anisotropy which may be related to the vertically aligned seismic anisotropic minerals caused by the crustal thickening. 展开更多
