Objective:MicroRNA-188-5p(miR-188)enhances oncologic progression in various human malignancies.This study aimed to explore its role in colorectal cancer(CRC).Materials and Methods:Human CRC tissues paired with normal ...Objective:MicroRNA-188-5p(miR-188)enhances oncologic progression in various human malignancies.This study aimed to explore its role in colorectal cancer(CRC).Materials and Methods:Human CRC tissues paired with normal tissues,and several CRC cell lines were utilized.Real-time quantitative PCR was applied to measure the expression of miR-188.Overexpression and knockdown were used to access the function of miR-188 and to investigate whether FOXL1/Wnt signaling mediates such function.The proliferation,migration and invasion of cancer cells were evaluated by CCK8,wound-healing and transwell assays,respectively.Whether FOXL1 acted as a direct target of miR-188 was verified by dual-luciferase reporter assays.Results:Levels of miR-188 were upregulated in CRC tissues than in paired-normal tissues,as well as in various CRC cell lines.High expression of miR-188 was strongly associated with advanced tumor stage,accompanied with significant tumor cell proliferation,invasion and migration.It was confirmed that FOXL1 played positive crosstalk between miR-188 regulation and downstream Wnt/β-catenin signaling activation.Conclusions:All findings indicate that miR-188 promotes CRC cell proliferation and invasion through targeting FOXL1/Wnt signaling and could be served as a potential therapeutic target for human CRC in the future.展开更多
Electrides are unique materials,whose anionic electrons are confined to interstitial voids,and they have broad potential applications in various areas.In contrast to the majority of inorganic electrides,in which the a...Electrides are unique materials,whose anionic electrons are confined to interstitial voids,and they have broad potential applications in various areas.In contrast to the majority of inorganic electrides,in which the anionic electrons primarily consist of s-electrons of metals,electrides with anionic d-electrons are very rare.Based on first-principles electronic structure calculations,we predict that the layered transition metal chalcogenide Hf_(2)Se is a novel electride candidate with anionic d-electrons.Our results indicate that the anionic electrons confined in the Hf_(6) octahedra vacancy between [Hf_(2)Se] layers mainly come from the Hf-5 d orbitals.In addition,the anionic electrons coexist with the Hf-Hf multiple-center metallic bonds located in the center of neighboring Hf_(4) tetrahedra.The calculated work function(3.33 eV) for the(110) surface of Hf_(2)Se is slightly smaller than that of Hf_(2)S,which has recently been reported to exhibit good electrocatalytic performance.Our study of Hf2 Se will enrich the electride family,and promote further research into the physical properties and applications of electrides.展开更多
Timing speculative(TS)architecture is promising for improving the energy efficiency of microprocessors.Error recovery units,designed for tolerating occasional timing errors,have been used to support a wider range of v...Timing speculative(TS)architecture is promising for improving the energy efficiency of microprocessors.Error recovery units,designed for tolerating occasional timing errors,have been used to support a wider range of voltage scaling,therefore to achieve a better energy efficiency.More specifically,the timing error rate,influenced mainly by data forwarding,is the bottleneck for voltage down-scaling in TS processors.In this paper,a new Timing Error Aware Register Allocation method is proposed.First,we designed the Dependency aware Interference Graph(DIG)construction to get the information of Read after Write(RAW)in programs.To build the construction,we get the disassemble code as input and suppose that there are unlimited registers,the same way as so-called virtual registers in many compilers.Then we change the disassemble codes to the SSA form for each basic block to make sure the registers are defined only once.Based on the DIG construction,registers were real-located to eliminate the timing error,by loosening the RAW dependencies.We con-struct the DIG for each function of the program and sort the edge of DIG by an increasing weight order.Since a smaller weighted-edge value means that its owner nodes have more frequent access in instruction flows,we expect it in different registers with no read-write dependency.At the same time,we make sure that there are no additional new spill codes emerging in our algorithm to minimize the rate of spill code.A high rate of spill code will not only decrease the performance of the system but also increase the unexpected read-write dependency.Next,we reallocate the reg-isters by weight order in turn to loosen the RAW dependencies.Furthermore,we use the NOP operation to pad the instructions with a minimal distance value of 2.Experiment results showed that the average distance of RAW dependencies was increased by over 20%.展开更多
The shiitake mushroom(Lentinula edodes),known as Xiang-gu in China,has been an important component of Asian cuisine for hundreds of years.Although not easily digestible,there are few reports of them causing bowel obst...The shiitake mushroom(Lentinula edodes),known as Xiang-gu in China,has been an important component of Asian cuisine for hundreds of years.Although not easily digestible,there are few reports of them causing bowel obstruction.We present two cases of small bowel obstruction due to a shiitake mushroomrequiring surgical intervention.Two patients who did not have any teeth and did not use dentures presented with intestinal bowel obstruction and were referred to the Emergency Department of our hospital after eating a meal including shiitake mushrooms without cutting.The first patient underwent an emergency laparotomy and a semental small bowel resection and the other underwent laparoscopic small bowel incision for removal of a foreign body.The causes of the small bowel obstruction for the two patients were uncut shiitake mushrooms in the small bowel.The two patients recovered uneventfully post-operatively.展开更多
