Heterosis and polyploidy have an overwhelming influence on plant evolution.Recently,polyploid rice hybrids have been used to breed new rice varieties because they combine the advantages of both heterosis and polyploidy.In this study,we generated six rice lines:autotetraploid rice hybrids and their autotetraploid parents,diploid donors,and hybrids of the diploid donors.To investigate the molecular mechanism controlling the effects of both hybridization and polyploidization,we performed bisulfite and RNA sequencing on young panicles at the pollen meiosis stage to compare the DNA metabolomes and transcriptomes among the six rice lines.The hybrids lines were hypermethylated compared to their corresponding parents and the autotetraploid lines showed globally increased DNA methylation of their transposable elements compared to the diploid donors.The alteration in DNA methylation level corresponded to the differential gene expressions among the rice genotypes,suggesting that methylation changes induced by polyploidization and hybridization may affect gene expression.Groups of gene candidates were identified that may be associated with heterosis and polyploidy.Our results provide DNA information that can be used to investigate epigenetic modification during heterosis and polyploidy in rice. 展开更多

This paper proposes some low complexity algorithms for active user detection(AUD),channel estimation(CE)and multi-user detection(MUD)in uplink non-orthogonal multiple access(NOMA)systems,including single-carrier and multi-carrier cases.In particular,we first propose a novel algorithm to estimate the active users and the channels for single-carrier based on complex alternating direction method of multipliers(ADMM),where fast decaying feature of non-zero components in sparse signal is considered.More importantly,the reliable estimated information is used for AUD,and the unreliable information will be further handled based on estimated symbol energy and total accurate or approximate number of active users.Then,the proposed algorithm for AUD in single-carrier model can be extended to multi-carrier case by exploiting the block sparse structure.Besides,we propose a low complexity MUD detection algorithm based on alternating minimization to estimate the active users’data,which avoids the Hessian matrix inverse.The convergence and the complexity of proposed algorithms are analyzed and discussed finally.Simulation results show that the proposed algorithms have better performance in terms of AUD,CE and MUD.Moreover,we can detect active users perfectly for multi-carrier NOMA system. 展开更多

Based on the theories and methods of complex network,crude oil trade flows between countries along the Belt and Road(B&R,hereafter)are inserted into the Geo-space of B&R and form a spatial interaction network which takes the countries as nodes and takes the trade relations as edges.The networked mining and evolution analysis can provide important references for the research on trade relations among the B&R countries and the formulation of trade policy.This paper researches and discusses the construction,statistical analysis,top networks and stability of the crude oil trade network between the B&R countries from 2001 to 2020 from the perspectives of Geo-Computation for Social Sciences(GCSS)and spatial interaction.Firstly,evolutions of out-degree,in-degree,out-strength and in-strength of the top 10 countries in the crude oil trade network are computed and analyzed.Secondly,the top network method is used to explore the evolution characteristics of hierarchical structures.And finally,the sequential evolution characteristics of the crude oil trade network stability are analyzed utilizing the network stability measure method based on the trade relationship autocorrelation function.The analysis results show that Russia has the largest out-degree and out-strength,and China has the largest in-degree and in-strength.The crude oil trade volume of the top 10 import and export networks between 2001—2020 accounts for over 90%of the total trade volume of the crude oil trade network,and the proportion remains relatively stable.However,the stability of the network showed strong fluctuations in 2009,2012 and 2014,which may be closely related to major international events in these years,which could furtherly be used to build a correlation model between network volatility and major events.This paper explores how to construct and analyze the spatial interaction network of crude oil trade and can provide references for trade relations research and trade policy formulation of B&R countries. 展开更多

A Longitudinal Analysis of Environment and Risk of Obesity in the US

Environment has been shown to influence physical activity and people’s body weight. Utilizing Centers for Disease Control and Prevention 2004-2010 waves of the continuous obesity data, this study conducted longitudinal analyses to examine neighborhood built environment and obesity risk controlling for the effects of socio-demographic characteristics. This study presents a comprehensive effort to understand the relationship between the environment and physical inactivity and obesity across the entire contiguous US. When constructing measures of the built environment, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) were used to calculate street connectivity, walk score and food environment. In addition to the built environment, the natural environment, which was represented by the annual number of extreme weather events from 2004-2010, was taken into account in explaining variation of physical inactivity and obesity across the contiguous US. Results show that higher street connectivity and walk score are related to lower physical inactivity and obesity rates, while the ratio of fast-food restaurants and number of extreme weather events are positively related to physical inactivity and obesity. The results are believed to provide policy-makers and planners with useful insights into the dynamics between the environment and obesity epidemic. Further, the significant effects of extreme weather invite more studies to investigate the relationship between the natural environment and obesity. 展开更多

By using a perylene diimine(PDI)syn-atropisomer as highly preorganized precursor,we successfully constructed a visible-light-active organic macrocycle PDI-M.The formation of macrocyclic structure effectively avoids self-aggregation of PDI cores and enhances the absorption in visible region.As a photocatalyst,PDI-M exhibits excellent activity on aerobic selective oxidation of sulfide into sulfoxide under visible light irradiation at room temperature.Mechanism studies show that both superoxide and singlet oxygen act as reactive oxygen species.This work provides a typical case toward the maximum utilization of photosensitive groups under mild conditions. 展开更多
