Pufferfish is prone to deterioration due to abundant nutrients and high moisture content.Drying technology can extend the shelf life and enhance the flavor quality of aquatic products.The study investigated the effect of hot air drying(HAD),microwave vacuum drying(MVD)and hot air assisted radio frequency drying(HARFD)on the taste and volatile profiles of Takifugu obscurus.Different drying methods had significant influence on the color,rehydration,5’-nucleotides,free amino acids and volatile components(P<0.05).The results showed that HAD and HARFD could promote the flavor of T.obscurus by producing higher equivalent umami concentration(EUC)values,which were about two times of MVD group,and more pronounced pleasant odor according to sensory analysis.HAD is more appropriate for industrial application than HARFD and MVD considering the economic benefits.This study could provide a reference for the industrial application of drying T.obscurus. 展开更多

In this study,umami taste intensity(UTI)and umami taste components in chicken breast(CB)and chickenspices blends were characterized using sensory and instrumental analysis.Our main objective was to assess the aroma-umami taste interactions in different food matrices and reconcile the aroma-taste perception to assist future product development.The impact of key aroma,including vegetable-note"2-pentylfuran",meaty"methional",green"hexanal",and spicy-note-estragole and caryophyllene"on UTI was evaluated in monosodium glutamate and chicken extract.We found that spices significantly decreased UTI and umami taste components in CB.Interestingly,the perceptually similar odorants and tastants exhibited the potential to enhance UTI in food matrices.Methional was able to increase the UTI,whereas spicy and green-note components could reduce the UTI significantly.This information would be valuable to food engineers and formulators in aroma selection to control the UTI perceived by consumers,thus,improving the quality and acceptability of the chicken products. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Malignant obstructive jaundice(MOJ)is a condition characterized by varying degrees of bile duct stenosis and obstruction,accompanied by the progressive development of malignant tumors,leading to high morbidity and mortality rates.Currently,the two most commonly employed methods for its management are percutaneous transhepatic bile duct drainage(PTBD)and endoscopic ultrasound-guided biliary drainage(EUS-BD).While both methods have demonstrated favorable outcomes,additional research needs to be performed to determine their relative efficacy.To compare the therapeutic effectiveness of EUS-BD and PTBD in treating MOJ.METHODS This retrospective analysis,conducted between September 2015 and April 2023 at The Third Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University(The First People’s Hospital of Changzhou),involved 68 patients with MOJ.The patients were divided into two groups on the basis of surgical procedure received:EUS-BD subgroup(n=33)and PTBD subgroup(n=35).Variables such as general data,preoperative and postoperative indices,blood routine,liver function indices,myocardial function indices,operative success rate,clinical effectiveness,and complication rate were analyzed and compared between the subgroups.RESULTS In the EUS-BD subgroup,hospital stay duration,bile drainage volume,effective catheter time,and clinical effect-iveness rate were superior to those in the PTBD subgroup,although the differences were not statistically significant(P>0.05).The puncture time for the EUS-BD subgroup was shorter than that for the PTBD subgroup(P<0.05).Postoperative blood routine,liver function index,and myocardial function index in the EUS-BD subgroup were significantly lower than those in the PTBD subgroup(P<0.05).Additionally,the complication rate in the EUS-BD subgroup was lower than in the PTBD subgroup(P<0.05).CONCLUSION EUS-BD may reduce the number of punctures,improve liver and myocardial functions,alleviate traumatic stress,and decrease complication rates in MOJ treatment. 展开更多

Sanhuang chicken is a popular native breed in China and well-known for delicious flavour.Spices could enhance the chicken meat flavour and work well in preservation.Chinese 5-spice blend(CS)and garam masala(GM)are routinely using spices in China and Pakistan,respectively.The flavour profiles of Sanhuang chicken breast(CB)and its blends with CS and GM were obtained by electronic nose(E-nose),solid-phase microextraction gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(SPME GC-MS)and GC-ion mobility spectrometry(GC-IMS).Principal component analysis(PCA)efficiently discriminated the aroma profiles of three chicken formulations.The GC-chromatographs revealed the significant aroma alterations of chicken breast meat after marination with spices.Aldehydes were the major contributors of chicken aroma,while most of the aromatic hydrocarbons were generated by spices.Almost all chicken key-compounds produced by oxidation reaction were either reduced or eliminated by marination,showing the antioxidation capacity of spices leading to meat preservation.GC-IMS is not only a rapid and comprehensive detection method,but also proved to be more sensitive than GC-MS.The substantial role of both traditional spices in enhancing flavour quality of chicken meat,and their exposure as functional ingredients in Chinese and Pakistan cuisines could lead to the cross-cultural meat trade opportunities. 展开更多

OBJECTIVE To investigate the optimal duration of dual antiplatelet therapy(DAPT)in patients with diabetes mellitus(DM)requiring complex percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI).METHODS A total of 2403 patients with DM who underwent complex PCI from January to December 2013 were consecutively enrolled in this observational cohort study and divided according to DAPT duration into a standard group(11-13 months,n=689)and two prolonged groups(13-24 months,n=1133;>24 months,n=581).RESULTS Baseline characteristics,angiographic findings,and complexity of PCI were comparable regardless of DAPT duration.The incidence of major adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular event was lower when DAPT was 13-24 months than when it was 11-13 months or>24 months(4.6%vs.8.1%vs.6.0%,P=0.008),as was the incidence of all-cause death(1.9%vs.4.6%vs.2.2%,P=0.002)and cardiac death(1.0%vs.3.0%vs.1.2%,P=0.002).After adjustment for confounders,DAPT for 13-24 months was associated with a lower risk of major adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular event[hazard ratio(HR)=0.544,95%CI:0.373-0.795]and all-cause death(HR=0.605,95%CI:0.387-0.944).DAPT for>24 months was associated with a lower risk of all-cause death(HR=0.681,95%CI:0.493-0.942)and cardiac death(HR=0.620,95%CI:0.403-0.952).The risk of major bleeding was not increased by prolonging DAPT to 13-24 months(HR=1.356,95%CI:0.766-2.401)or>24 months(HR=0.967,95%CI:0.682-1.371).CONCLUSIONS For patients with DM undergoing complex PCI,prolonging DAPT might improve the long-term prognosis by reducing the risk of adverse ischemic events without increasing the bleeding risk. 展开更多

Wild loquats(Eriobotrya japonica Lindl.)provide remarkable genetic resources for studying domestication and breeding improved varieties.Herein,we generate the first high-quality chromosome-level genome assembly of wild loquat,with 45791 predicted proteincoding genes.Analysis of comparative genomics indicated that loquat shares a common ancestor with apple and pear,and a recent whole-genome duplication event occurred in loquat prior to its divergence.Genome resequencing showed that the loquat germplasms can be distinctly classified into wild and cultivated groups,and the commercial cultivars have experienced allelic admixture.Compared with cultivated loquats,the wild loquat genome showed very few selected genomic regions and had higher levels of genetic diversity.However,whole-genome scans of selective sweeps were mainly related to fruit quality,size,and f lesh color during the domestication process.Large-scale transcriptome and metabolome analyses were further performed to identify differentially expressed genes(DEGs)and differentially accumulated metabolites(DAMs)in wild and cultivated loquats at various fruit development stages.Unlike those in wild loquat,the key DEGs and DAMs involved in carbohydrate metabolism,plant hormone signal transduction,f lavonoid biosynthesis,and carotenoid biosynthesis were significantly regulated in cultivated loquats during fruit development.These high-quality reference genome,resequencing,and large-scale transcriptome/metabolome data provide valuable resources for elucidating fruit domestication and molecular breeding in loquat. 展开更多

Atomic magnetometers operated in the spin-exchange relaxation-free(SERF)regime are the promising sensor to replace superconducting quantum interference devices(SQUIDs)in the biomagnetism field.The SERF magnetometer with compact size and good performance is crucial to the new generation of wearable magnetoencephalography(MEG)system.In this paper,we developed a compact and closed-loop SERF magnetometer with the dimensions of 15.0×22.0×30.0 mm^(3)based on a single-beam configuration.The bandwidth of the magnetometer was extended to 675 Hz while the sensitivity was maintained at 22 f T/Hz^(1/2).A nearly 3-fold enhancement of the bandwidth was obtained in comparison with the open-loop control.The implementation of the closed-loop control also greatly improved the dynamic range,enabling the magnetometer to be robust against the disturbance of the ambient field.Moreover,the magnetometer was successfully applied for the detection of humanα-rhythm and auditory evoked fields(AEFs),which demonstrated the potential to be extended to multi-channel MEG measurements for future neuroscience studies. 展开更多

Learning the mapping of magnetograms and EUV images is important for understanding the solar eruption mechanism and space weather forecasting.Previous works are mainly based on the pix2pix model for full-disk magnetograms generation and obtain good performance.However,in general,we are more concerned with the magnetic field distribution in the active regions where various solar storms such as the solar flare and coronal mass ejection happen.In this paper,we fuse the self-attention mechanism with the pix2pix model which allows more computation resource and greater weight for strong magnetic regions.In addition,the attention features are concatenated by the Residual Hadamard Production(RHP) with the abstracted features after the encoder.We named our model as RHP-attention pix2pix.From the experiments,we can find that the proposed model can generate magnetograms with finer strong magnetic structures,such as sunspots.In addition,the polarity distribution of generated magnetograms at strong magnetic regions is more consistent with observed ones. 展开更多

Abstract As an essential horticultural crop,Citrus has carotenoid diversity,which affects its aesthetic and nutritional values.β,β-Xanthophylls are the primary carotenoids accumulated in citrus fruits,and non-heme di-iron carotene hydroxylase(BCH)enzymes are mainly responsible forβ,β-xanthophyll synthesis.Previous studies have focused on the hydroxylation of BCH1,but the role of its paralogous gene in citrus,BCH2,remains largely unknown.In this study,we revealed theβ-hydroxylation activity of citrus BCH2(CsBCH2)for the first time through the functional complementation assay using Escherichia coli,although CsBCH2 exhibited a lower activity in hydroxylatingβ-carotene intoβ-cryptoxanthin than citrus BCH1(CsBCH1).Our results showed that overexpression of CsBCH2 in citrus callus increased xanthophyll proportion and plastoglobule size with feedback regulation of carotenogenic gene expression.This study revealed the distinct expression patterns and functional characteristics of two paralogous genes,CsBCH1 and CsBCH2,and illustrated the backup compensatory role of CsBCH2 for CsBCH1 in citrus xanthophyll biosynthesis.The independent function of CsBCH2 and its cooperative function with CsBCH1 inβ-cryptoxanthin biosynthesis suggested the potential of CsBCH2 to be employed for expanding the synthetic biology toolkit in carotenoid engineering。 展开更多

胸痛中心建设对急性ST段抬高型心肌梗死再灌注患者心功能及短期预后的影响

目的观察分析胸痛中心(chest pain center,CPC)建设对ST段抬高型心肌梗死(ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction,STEMI)患者再灌注治疗的效果及短期预后。方法选取CPC建设前后因急性胸痛就诊且诊断为STEMI行经皮冠状动脉介入治疗... 目的观察分析胸痛中心(chest pain center,CPC)建设对ST段抬高型心肌梗死(ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction,STEMI)患者再灌注治疗的效果及短期预后。方法选取CPC建设前后因急性胸痛就诊且诊断为STEMI行经皮冠状动脉介入治疗(percutaneous coronary intervention,PCI)治疗患者284例为研究对象,根据CPC建设时间分为CPC建设前的对照组136例和CPC建设后的观察组148例。分析2组一般资料、主要时间节点差异、治疗后心功能指标差异及术后住院期间心功能不良时间发生率。结果观察组发病至首次医疗接触时间(symptom-to-first medical contact,S2FMC)、首次医疗接触至首份心电图时间(first medical contact to first electrocardiogram,FMC2ECG)、入门至球囊扩张时间(door-to-ballon,D2B)及首次医疗接触至球囊扩张时间(first medical contact-to-balloon,FMC2B)均短于对照组(P<0.05),观察组术后左心室射血分数(left ventricular ejection fraction,LVEF)高于对照组,术后脑钠肽(brain natriuretic peptide,BNP)低于对照组(P<0.05),观察组急性心力衰竭、恶性心律失常、病死率均低于对照组(P<0.05)。结论CPC建设能够有效缩短STEMI患者发病至再灌注的时间,减少了心肌缺血时间,对患者术后心功能的恢复有显著效果,同时降低了术后短期心功能相关不良事件的发生,降低了STEMI患者的病死率,临床应用价值相对更高。 展开更多

DATA SOURCES: We conducted electronic searches of PUBMED(1950/2017), EMBASE(1974/2017), Science Direct(1986/2017), Academic Source Premier(1887/2017), the Cochrane Library(Issue 4, April 2017), Science Citation Index Expanded(1900/2017), China National Knowledge Infrastructure(1915/2017), China Biological Medicine(1990/2017-04), Wan Fang(1980/2017), VIP(1989/2017), and Chinese Science Citation Database(1989/2017). DATA SELECTION: We included randomized controlled trials that aimed to compare the effect of acupuncture plus rehabilitation training versus rehabilitation training alone. Data about functional motor abilities, daily activity/social participation, effective rate, intellectual development, and adverse effects were included. We used Revman 5.2 software for statistical analysis. OUTCOME MEASURES: The primary outcomes included functional motor abilities, daily activity, and effective rate. The secondary outcomes included intellectual development and adverse effects.RESULTS: Twenty-one studies with a total of 1718 participants met the inclusion criteria. The effect size of gross motor function(SMD = 0.64, 95% CI: 0.52 to 0.76, P 〈 0.00001; I^2 = 0%, P = 0.69; in 13 studies with 1144 patients) and the total effective rate(RR = 1.28, 95% CI: 1.20 to 1.37, P 〈 0.00001; I^2 = 18%, P = 0.27; in 12 studies with 1106 patients) suggested that acupuncture plus rehabilitation produced a significant improvement in gross motor function and a high total effective rate. The pooled fine motor function(SMD = 3.48, 95% CI: 2.62 to 4.34, P 〈 0.00001; I^2 = 64%, P = 0.10; in 2 studies with 193 patients), modified Ashworth scale scores(SMD = –0.31, 95% CI: –0.52 to –0.11, P = 0.003; I^2 = 74%, P = 0.004; in 5 studies with 363 patients) and activities of daily living(SMD = 1.45, 95% CI: 1.20 to 1.71, P 〈 0.00001; I^2 = 78%, P = 0.004; in 4 studies with 313 patients) also indicated improvements in children with cerebral palsy. Publication bias was not observed. Only mild adverse events related to acupuncture were reported. CONCLUSION: Acupuncture plus rehabilitation training improved gross motor function, reduced muscle spasms, and enhanced daily life activities in children with cerebral palsy. However, this conclusion should be interpreted with caution due to the small number of randomized controlled trials available and the small sample sizes. A non-local denoising (NLD) algorithm for point-sampled surfaces (PSSs) is presented based on similarities, including geometry intensity and features of sample points. By using the trilateral filtering operator, the differential signal of each sample point is determined and called "geometry intensity". Based on covariance analysis, a regular grid of geometry intensity of a sample point is constructed, and the geometry-intensity similarity of two points is measured according to their grids. Based on mean shift clustering, the PSSs are clustered in terms of the local geometry-features similarity. The smoothed geometry intensity, i.e., offset distance, of the sample point is estimated according to the two similarities. Using the resulting intensity, the noise component from PSSs is finally removed by adjusting the position of each sample point along its own normal direction. Ex- perimental results demonstrate that the algorithm is robust and can produce a more accurate denoising result while having better feature preservation. 展开更多
