However, its precise anti-allergic rhin...According to the proportion of 1:1, konjac flour and mulberry leaf powder are compounded into a kind of dietary fiber source(KMCP). It is found to be good for anti-inflammation. However, its precise anti-allergic rhinitis effect and mechanism remain unknown. In our work, the effect of KMCP on allergic rhinitis(AR)induced by ovalbumin(OVA)was investigated. We found that the number of nasal rubbing and sneezing, the eosinophil(EOS)count in the nasal mucosa, and the serum levels of histamine(HIS), OVA-specific immunoglobulin E(OVA-sIgE)and interleukin-4(IL-4)were decreased, and the histopathological changes of nasal mucosa were inhibited. Additionally, the experiments further proved that the KMCP treatment could exert substantial effects on short-chain fatty acids(SCFAs)metabolism in the cecum as well. Overall findings suggest that KMCP could suppress the inflammatory response in AR mice, and serve as a novel curative therapeutic for AR without side effects.展开更多

Forming limit of metal foil is an important index to evaluate its formability,and is of considerable significance to improve the quality of products.The ductile fracture(DF)behavior in microscale plastic deformation i...Forming limit of metal foil is an important index to evaluate its formability,and is of considerable significance to improve the quality of products.The ductile fracture(DF)behavior in microscale plastic deformation is remarkably affected by the geometry and grain size.To explore the size-dependent forming limit curve(FLC),the Holmberg and Marciniak tests of SUS304 foils with the thicknesses of less than 0.1 mm and diverse grain sizes were performed.In addition,the validity and feasibility of three types of existing failure models including Swift/Hill,MarciniakKuczynski(M-K)and DF criteria for predicting the micro-scaled FLCs were discussed.It is found that the Swift/Hill model possesses the worst accuracy with predicting deviation above 50%.Four classical DF criteria including Freudenthal,Ayada,Brozzo and Oh show great difference,and Oh model considering plastic anisotropy presents the best precision.The predicted deviation of M-K model is aggravated with increasing grain size and decreasing foil thickness,which is attributed to the intensified free surface roughening and transformation of fracture mechanism with miniaturization.This research thus provides a deeper understanding and valuable reference for the widespread application of FLC in microforming.展开更多

However, due to weak photon–photon interaction, the advancement of all-optical m...All-optical modulators with ultrahigh speed are in high demand due to the rapid development of optical interconnection and computation. However, due to weak photon–photon interaction, the advancement of all-optical modulators is consequently hampered by the large footprint and high power consumption. In this work, the enhanced sensitivity around an exceptional point(EP) from parity-time(PT) symmetry theory is initiatively introduced into a nonlinear all-optical modulator design. Further, a non-Hermitian all-optical modulator based on PT symmetry is proposed, which utilizes the large Kerr nonlinearity from indium tin oxide(ITO) in its epsilon-near-zero(ENZ) region. The whole system is expected to operate around EP, giving rise to the advantages of nanoscale integration and large modulation depth. This presented modulator with high efficiency and high-speed all-optical control can be commendably extended to the design methodology of various nanostructures and further prompt the development of all-optical signal processing.展开更多
